  1. Look you guy's have been complaining about a true center for us, and are looking to draft one. I believe that would be a waste. Just as we saw last night was what happens when you give a highschooler 4yrs to learn. J O'neal rode pine for years in Portland, then went to the Pacers. TMac rode pine. Kobe rode pine. Bender rode pine(we'll see this year and next). Harrington rode pine(we'll see this year). Steve Jackson played all over the world. KG played but didn't do much for a couple of years. So who's on tap: Curry- has had 4 years to develope in Chi. and will be one of the better centers in the league Chandler- same as Curry, except he's a much better defender and rebounder and who I would love to have. He could develope into a scoring Deke. Diop- has the size, but cleveland will never let him go so they can replace Ilgauskus(sp). KBrown- will be a good center when he gets into a system that will teach him how to play mentally, damn. I believe they all will be available as FA or RFA. I'd rather get one of them instead of one of the guys from the draft who will need to grow and learn. Ivey will be our starting point next year, so in the draft we should get the best available player. For those who say no one will come to ATL, I garuntee that any of the aboved guys will come here for a chance to prove themselves or just to get more money. Their young they have atleast 2-3 more contracts in their careers.
  2. Companies like Wal-mart and McDonalds are what the American Dream of Capitalism is all about. You create a business and utilize it to become mega-rich. Look the difference between mom & pop and Sam Walton is that Walton built a system that could be followed and run by a high school drop-out. Mom & Pop depend on mom & pop too much. If you want to be a capitalist then you must learn the game. Read: 1st (Rich Dad, Poor Dad) 2nd (Cashflow Quadrant) both by Robert Kirososki(sp) 3rd (E-Myth) by Micheal Gerber These three books will change anybodies who is running or wants to run a Capitalist Business right.
  3. We need a point and Parker will be the best one available next year...he'll cost us the max, but so what, pay him. Chandler would have been outstanding last year if he hadn't gotten hurt...you'll see this year...he can play pf now while letting J Smooth prove himself over the next 3yrs Curry will have a good year, but chicago will not pay him next year...we should...sign and trade with AW/Drob Trade Diaw for Skita, we need an Euro shooter period. Next year Parker/Anderson/Ivey Chill/DSmith/Barry AL/JSmith/ Chandler/Skita Curry/Collier/Willis This team is competive in the NBA, not just the east
  4. I stopped by my gym for a shot around tonight, and Mr. Willis was there training his son(17). He's 42, but in great shape (I'm an Independent Personal Trainer, so I can tell just by looking). The guy has very little body fat(between 8-12%). Oh, I would love to have him as a member of the Hawks, and time he's maintained a home here. It's funny, the guy lived near me all this time and I didn't know. Anyway his son is about 6'4" - 6'6", with a good build(If I was doing his muscle developement, I'd work on his explosion from his arches, calves and mid-hamstrings. He's a kid,so he still has some muscle matruity to go through anyway). I didn't want to bother him too much, but maybe if I get to talk to him again and if he's doesn't mind me telling ya'll. I'll ask about him joining the Hawks.
  5. that's alot of jacks for Damp...as I've said in my few posts...I didn't want him anyway, so now I can breath... GM are alway graded on the deals that they do, but some of the best GM should be praised on the deals that they don't do...I believe that this is what will make BK on the great GM...He not only knows how to manage money, bring in names that will get attention, and create teams that should have chemistry, but he can judge talent...He suckered us into taking SAR, while he got Paul Gasol (who is the MVP of the Olympics)...although Jerry West is getting the credit, he built the foundation of the Grizz, that went to the playoffs(yes he got fired, but what team wouldn't take Jerry West if given the chance)...He will give Atlanta an opportunity to become a 1st Class Organization
  6. hey count me in on the game and playing ball
  7. The guy can't be too bad if he scored 17pts againt Yao, although Yao did score 27pts (but who can really stop him from scoring except himself). In order to do that against Yao either your massive ie Shaq or you face him up from 17-10ft, drive or shoot ie Duncan. Drob can't post Yao, he's not getting alot of Offensive put back against Yao, so he must have a decent jumper...just a thought
  8. Yeah he's undersized, but he bangs and Woodson may be able to convert that to Ben Wallace over the course of a 2yr experiment. Remember Ben wasn't much in Orlando...it took time, opportunity, coaching and will. It can't hurt to see what he's got.
  9. If Damp comes here now he won't be happy and that could cause and disruption on this team that we don't need. It's apparent that he doesn't want to play here. If he did he would spend more time working with BK instead of begging NY and GS to do and SNT...BK should read the story of Moses and "let my people(Damp) go"...away that is.
  10. IMO plan be should be to say to forget Damp, sign Loren Woods and Obinna Ekieze. Collier = a big body who can shoot from 12ft Obinna = a big body who was stunning in last yr summer games and everyone here was on his jock Loren Woods = 7'1" 255 of let's see what happens under this coach This crew is cheap and can get it done in the east and if it don't work next yr's draft is surposed to have some big's, that's why none of these guys will be for more than 3yr's on their contract.
  11. I believe that if we have the opportunity, we should draft Okafur(a ligit center), resign Sura, Jackson, Zabarraca and Prybilla. We would have an opportunity to sign Keyon Martin and Richardson. Sura, JT, JV JT, Richardson, Hansen Jackson, Diaw, Hansen Martin, Crawford,Zabarraca Okafur, Zabarraca, Prybilla This team will run, play team ball, and play defense. Martin and Okafur will hold down the east in the paint and Zabarraca and Prybilla give us plenty of fouls for the west. Also with this line-up, team will be wondering who's going to score high due to the fact that any of them can get 20 or more.
  12. Yao is the best choice and bring in Akeem "The Dream" to coach him, he will be unguardable
  13. My wife's name is Kim...Have you ever been to a Fortune meeting, maybe that's the location.
  14. Nope but I have a friend, Daphne Lane who use to (telecom stuff)...I am a computer geek who use to teach MS networks at New Horizons, Silicone Valley CLC and AIS

  16. I have Chandler on my fan team and he's been rebounding great. I would do this deal, but Chi would have a riot if they took it, so why dream.
  17. Almost every game this year is a must win, for a fan base and money for the future sake. The Atlanta Spirit will not continue to invest money to a team that can't draw a crowd. Atlanta fans won't support a losing team (bandwagon town). Free agents won't come to a fan unfriendly town. Although there are more reasons, these are primary for a successful franchise.
  18. I'm sure that he got some mental schooling from Parker over the summer in the European Championship Series. It seems to me that he is more like a AAA ball player getting a chance in the Majors, instead of a college kid going to the Majors. Getting past being more aggressive is eaiser than learning the basic skill, plus I lived in Europe from 93 to 97 and trust me the high school kids there are playing more like Americans each year. The idea of the soft European is fading away.
  19. I'll bet money that this board will be full of people saying that we should have brought DJ back or atleast to camp. History shows that these types of situations with a person of his determination will make a dramatic come back. His will be one of the major stories of the year and we will look like goats.
  20. How many clutch shot does JT have to make for him to get props. The man has hit plenty. Driving, Jump shooting or at the Line he has made the pressure shot. What makes the biggest difference between us and the Lakers (other than Shaq) is Confidence, Coaching and a Bench

    Wong ZhiZhi?

I think that as soon as he learns to play American that he will be a top 10 center...heck he'd be good in the East right now...I would definitly bring him in. Starters JT/SS/SAR/Theo/Wong 2nd DD/Deion/LN/Hendu/Naz Rotate Diaw/Hensen/JV Other Line up JT/Dion/SS/Theo/Wong (SAR resting or hurt) JT/Dion/SS/SAR/Wong (Theo hurt or resting) DD/JT/SAR/Theo/Wong (JT/SAR turned lose to score) DD/Dion/LN/Theo/Naz (Keep us in the game) JT/SS/Diaw/Naz/Wong (Getting Diaw some min) JT/SS/Wong/SAR/Theo (Wong and JT spot the 3's, SS slash) JV/Hensen/Diaw/LN/CC (garbage min) I could continue...so many line ups
  22. I believe that this is the most complete team that we've had in since rebuilding. It's not all about size al Ben Wallace. It's not all about losing Glenn. Orlando only has one 20pter, 76ers only has one 20pter, Lakers have 2, Spurs had 2, Kings had 1 and a half, NJ has 2. But it's really about how well you can be consistant as a team. Spurs are a team, Lakers are a team, NJ is a team and that my friends is what makes the difference in winning championships. If these Hawks understand this and complete the mission set forth they will win games.
  23. I know you guys believe that we must have that dead on 3pt threat, but really to beat a double team on the post all you need is someone who can hit the 15 - 18ft shot. JT, Glover, Jackson and Lee can all do that to a point of keeping teams honest.
  24. JT/JV/DD DG/Diaw/Hansen SJax/LN/CC SAR/Hendu Theo/Naz If I can count that is 13, I would imagine that the "carry only 12 rule" is out for Atlanta. Thank God! Now sign some other BU c/pf, and i'm good to go. I do beleive that this will be the most competive team we've had in years. Although some haters will come out, with the current condition of the East, we actually have a good chance of making the playoffs. As long as everyone knows their role and play their role, I might take my family to some games. JT = run the offense and set up others, plus getting his 20 DG = slash and be an opportunist SJax = kick out from SAR/Theo SAR = leadership and demand the ball Theo = Intemidate and defensive floor general Bench = don't lose the lead or fall too far behind and be ready to start at any given time. Coaches = set up the players for success, period
  25. Things just got a little tighter for the home team!
