Things are great as it is, and I hope Knight doesn't frell it all up. Leave the damn team alone. Marvin and 'Chiltz' are all the 3s that your team needs. I.E. they suck. Wells had delusions of grandeur this offseason and it costed him. I sure hope it doesn't cost us. It's funny that you show up in a thread that talks about Webber and his decline (and injuries) and a bloated contact when that's the situation PHX will soon have with Amare and Nash. One will be old and broken soon and the other will be a shadow of what he was before his injury. Enjoy your short reign. Cute. Amare's max deal doesn't begin until this season, so from now on he can earn that contract. From all things Im hearing inside the organization things are progressing better than great. He's the most feared offensive player in the league and he's going to lead us to a title. This is our year. Don't hate. And next time you refer to Nash, call him Mr. back-to-back MVP. Im sure Claxton will after we blow you guys out by 40 when we play. Also, inferior team's fanbase love to say how old and broken he is. So old and broken that he averaged 19 and 10(even more in the playoffs) shooting over 50% from the field, over 40% from behind the arc, and over 90% from the line. If thats broken down, then what condition are your players in? Hmmm But this isn't about my team, this is about Bonzi Wells. Wells would be a huge improvement over anyone of your SFs. He'll easily give you guys 6-10 more wins and that would piss me off. Understand this, next year I wouldn't care if you guys won 60 games and went to the finals. But this upcoming season will determine our draft pick, so to put it bluntly I want your team to suck, and they will. I just hope that Knight doesn't make a smart decision for a change and bring in Wells. your post is ignorant. Josh Smith and Marvin Williams will both outperform Bonzi Wells the season. Your attempt at trolling is very weak. please, give me a response. I want to allow you the opportunity to show that latest post wasn't the only thing ignorant you have to offer. Thats because Im not trying to troll. My whole beef with the organization is solely on Knight and his brain-dead decisions over the last for years that have brought a losing mentality to your city. And you guys don't deserve that. When Belkin gets rid of him you're organization will do a 180, guarenteed. I didn't intend on bringing Amare or Nash into this thread, but the guy called Amare washed up without even seeing him on the court this year. Still I guarentee he will put up better numbers than anyone on your team, including wanna-be all-star Joe Johnson. And to hope against hope that Nash suddenly becomes a dog on the court is the height of stupidity. The guy will age like Stockton, and may play until he is 40. Our window is open as long as he can go, and he will be good for a long time. And Wells no doubt was playing for a contract, but he is still far and beyond the bust Marvin Williams, and Childress whose nothing more than a bench players for 28 other teams. I can't fathom why anyone would be against bringing him in. Its not like he will hamper the growth of Williams and Childress. They aren't going to be good players anyways. Right now your city needs some hope, something that shows them that the organization is trying to win some games. This would be a win-win for Atlanta. But like I said, I hope it doesn't happen this year. Next year I'll be rooting for your team.

  4. Quote: He deserves a contract extension right now for what he has been able to do in remaking this roster. No other GM in the NBA would have had the balls to come into the situation he inherited, blow that team up, suffer during the first couple of years of rebuilding while resisting the temptation to go for the quick fix, and put together a team that has as much young talent as the Hawks have. No other GM in the league would catch as much grief as Billy Knight for doing what Billy Knight has done: *He took over an overpaid, underachieving team and blew it up completely within his first two years on the job. *He has yet to sign a player to a contract that hurts this team's salary cap flexibility in the long term. *He has yet to trade for a player that has a contract that hurts this team's salary cap flexibility in the long term. *He has yet to make a bad draft pick. *He has put together a young core of players to build around that is as good as any team in the league has with the additions of Josh Smith, Marvin Williams, and Joe Johnson. The only reason there is so much dislike for Billy Knight is that he doesn't pander to the idiot fans. I like to stay out of things and just read, but this has to be DUMBEST F'N POST IN THE HISTORY OF MESSAGE BOARDS. *He took over an overpaid, underachieving team and blew it up completely within his first two years on the job. -Wow, what a job he did too! After all, look at how successful you've been! *He has yet to sign a player to a contract that hurts this team's salary cap flexibility in the long term. -So by stacking up on rookie talent and being outright CHEAP, that somehow allows this BAFOON to keep his job? What about building a team that can win some games? Oh I forgot, Knight can't do that. *He has yet to trade for a player that has a contract that hurts this team's salary cap flexibility in the long term. -HELLO? MCFLY?? Thats because he refuses to trade for ANYONE that is actually GOOD. His one trade was an ABISMAL one in which he horribly overpaid for a decent player that has yet to make a damn all-star game. *He has yet to make a bad draft pick. -I don't know whether to laugh or cry. Marvin Williams over Chris Paul ring a bell? Sheldon freakin Williams as a top 5 pick?????????? *He has put together a young core of players to build around that is as good as any team in the league has with the additions of Josh Smith, Marvin Williams, and Joe Johnson. - The Suns won 64 games last season including the playoffs. The Hawks have won 63 games IN THE LAST 3 SEASONS COMBINED. I cannot believe you could be this dog dumb and defend Knight's tender as GM. The city of Atlanta deserves far, FAR BETTER than this. Why would you guys want to keep being the joke of the NBA? Why won't you see that managaement is killing your franchise? Knight should be kicked out as hard and as far as possible. He's wrecked you guys for the forseeable future. Belkin winning ownership is the best thing that could have happened for you guys, as he's the only one that actually has the balls to kick Knight to the curve. And NO ONE will EVER hire that Bafoon to run an NBA franshise again.
  5. Quote: I was watching the replay of USA vs. Korea last night and I thought about it. The composition of team USA is basically Billy Knight's vision...long versatile athletes that each have a variety of skills. Roster No. Player Pos. Ht. Team 4 Joe Johnson F 6-8 Atlanta 5 Kirk Hinrich G 6-3 Chicago 6 LeBron James F 6-9 Cleveland 7 Antawn Jamison F 6-9 Washington 8 Shane Battier F 6-8 Memphis 9 Dwyane Wade G 6-4 Miami 13 Brad Miller C 6-11 Sacramento 14 Elton Brand F 6-8 L.A. Clippers 15 Carmelo Anthony F 6-8 Denver 16 Chris Bosh F 6-11 Toronto 17 Dwight Howard F 6-10 Orlando 18 Chris Paul G 6-0 New Orleans Coach: Mike Krzyzewski, Duke University (N.C.) That lineup is basically full if 6'8 6'9 players with a couple of athletic 6-11 big men sprinkled in. CP is the only short PG on the squad...and really the only "true" point. The rest from Hinrich on down are ball handling, shooter-scorer-defender types. So if you consider that since the NBA is headed more to a "global-type" game, the Hawks, along with Phoenix, Dallas, Toronto, and maybe Orlando, are in the best positions to be poised to take the NBA to the next level. Just my observation. Except that their players, coach, and management are actually GOOD.
  6. Quote: You will excuse me if I find it a bit too optimistic to write the Hawks in arbitrarily into the playoffs when its been eight straight years and growing since we were last in the playoffs. Obviously I want them to do well but I don't think the group we have now is good enough to do it. You sir, know what the hell you are talking about. There's too many young players on your team. And the veterans tend to leave as soon as their contracts are up. No long term stability will hamper any franchise. It doesn't surprise me that BK is just letting Al walk without trying his damnest to convince him to stay. Why give up Al for a never-has-been M. Williams and a never-will be S. Williams? Al is better than both of your Power Forwards combined. Claxton is one of the most overrated players in the league. There's a reason he's always been a backup, and its not because he was never given a chance. I just don't see how he's going to improve your team by the 15 wins needed in order to make a push for the playoffs. And to the poster that said that there should be no more rebuilding done to the club- I agree 100%. Use your draft picks as trade bait to aquire some good players. Not this year of course
  7. Quote: November = 6-7 December = 7-9 January = 8-6 February = 6-8 March = 7-9 April = 4-5 Season = 38-44 (more [44-38] or less [34-48]) Good stuff. I agree with the original record, and am hoping for the lesser prediction. Replacing Harrington, your second leading scorer and best rebounder, with the bust of the draft- Sheldon Williams will keep you guys out of contention for a playoff spot this year. I like Duke, but Williams is just too slow and small to be a big man in the NBA. The worst top 5 pick since Kwame Brown.
  8. Quote: Such idiocy should be criminal. Have fun watching your crippled player hobble up and down the court for the rest of his career. The guy had it coming, he said the unthinkable. I've heard some dog-dumb things in my life, but that one takes the cake. How can anyone mention those two players in the same breath.. on the same planet. Just unbelieveable. And yeah.. Amare is so crippled that he made the cut of the U.S. Olympic team. You know.. where the best of the best are currently playing. But maybe you all can tell me why Josh Smith wasn't invited? Afterall, he is just as good as Amare right? Im pretty secure in saying that they would have chosen 200 players over Josh Smith. What a joke.
  9. Quote: If you look at the talent of Josh Smith he basically has all the freakish athleticism that Amare Stoudemire has. The only thing Stoudamire has on him is an inch in height. And better dribble, better post moves, a better shot, more heart, more desire, better feel for the game, more intelligence, hall of fame talent, more steals, a better rebounder, more assists, more aggressiveness, a competitive nature, 10 times the talent, a natural leader, multiple all star apperances, A WINNER, infinate amount of endorsements, the respect of the entire league... Comparing Josh Smith to a all-world talant such as Stoudemire is about the dumbest thing a Hawks fan could say.. and there have been plenty of dumb things spoken and thought. Amare has more talent in his left hand, then Smith does in his body. There's no comparison to anyone on your team, or from past Hawks teams. Wilkins, and only Wilkins ever had such ability. Get real.
  10. Quote: definitely Wow. So you would give up a bonafide star. The only player in the NBA that can legitimately play the point(he had triple doubles each time he did, has Johnson ever had even 1?), Small forward(his natural position), Power forward(increased his production each and every month), and center(where he can be an all-star next year in the West). Not to mention how he can easily play the 2 since his 3 pt percentage has been on a steady rise. An unselfish player whom was the only player in the NBA besides Lebron to average at least 13pts 7rpg and 6apg. A triple double waiting to happen. You would trade this for.. A wanna-be point guard whose really a 2-guard? A selfish player whom time and time again refused to pass the ball to the frachise player on the team because of his jealousy. A good but not a great player, definately no where near as a complete a player as Diaw. Not to mention a player thats gonna cost you 70 million over 5 years, whereas Diaw is prepared to sign for a 7-8 mil/5 yr deal? PLUS 2 first round picks?! It must be some good stuff you're smoking. As for the smart mouth that said I should worry about Amare's prime ending at 24 in one of these threads. 50% of Amare is greater than 100% of any player on your entire roster. And no one in Phoenix is worried about STAT. I can't personally wait until some of your players end up on his posters. Especially wanna-be superstar Johnson.
  11. Quote: We need some Nationally Televised Games for once! How long has it been since the Hawks had a game on ABC, TNT, Or ESPN. I really hope the NBA guys give us at least 1-2 games this year if teams like the Rockets, Raptors, Sonics , Celtics, Twolves and Warriors can get over 2 games each I believe we belong there too.. We are one of the youngest teams in the NBA who have alot of young flyers who can turn into superstars in this league. I have no doubt will be one of the most exciting teams to watch next year. We need fans not only in the Atlanta but around the world! HAHAHAHAHAHA! Almost choking here, can't stop laughing.. The league doesn't put the Atlanta Hawks on tv because they actually want people to watch. Blowouts are no fun for the audience. You are one of the youngest teams, but that doesn't quite mean good does it? If your teams gets say.. 5 games from the playoffs, then maybe Stern will put you guys on tv. The Rockets, Raptors, Sonics , Celtics, Twolves and Warriors will all have better records than you this year. The only teams that will be worst are Toronto(just barely), Portland, New York, and Charlotte. Maybe next year you guys will be given more games. When Belkin (thankfully) will fire Knight for screwing up the franchise, and that bum of a coach of yours. Don't even know his name, all I know is that Diaw said he was horrible. Keep your chin up.
  12. An Atlanta Hawks fan trying to make ME feel bad about MY team? Ha! Yeah, Colangelo leaving really shook us up, we only made it to the WCF without 3 starters in our lineup. We sure are gonna suck from here on out. As for your GM, yes he is horrible. he consistantly drafts small forwards when your glaring weakness has been PG. So what does he do this year? He drafts Williams with a ridiculously high draft pick. He overspends on a career backup PG whom can't shoot and has the same numbers as Lue. Not to mention WAY overspending for a good 2 guard and giving away the most versitile player in the NBA in Boris Diaw along with 1st round draft picks that will load us up on talent next year. You're team is the laughing stock of the NBA because of all the above. Until you get rid of that idiot Coach of yours and get a competent front office, your team will struggle. Now be quiet and listen to a fan of a REAL NBA team.
  13. Quote: AHF, i never said i didn't regret his murder. it was a terrible thing. phx_suns....ooooooh, you're so cool going to another fans website and insult their team. gosh i wish i was so cool as to think of doing that with your Arizona Cardinals team all these years...man you MUST be a genius with a life to take the time to insert that bit of pulitzer material on a random board. congratulations sir. Actually, I have nothing against you're team. You're players turn out to be fine players(Terry, Diaw). The Hawks problems all stem from their HORRIBLE GM, Coach, and Owners. You guys have a nice young core. I, and most of phoenix, is watching your every move this offseason. Claxton isn't that much better than Lue, so that doesn't concern me. Losing Al is huge and my only concern was what you guys might get back in return. Seeing how Belkin is screwing up brings a big smile to my face. I want a 4th or 5th pick in next year's draft. I don't expect you guys to be worst than Portland, New York and Charlotte, so hopefully it will work out.
  14. I just wanted to stop in and say, I love the Atlanta Hawks. I love how they missuse talent. I love how they are an automatic W when we play them. I love how mismanaged they are. I love the horrible decisions made by the worst GM in all of basketball, Billy Knight. I love Steve Belkin for hindering your team's progress this season. And most of all, I will LOVE that top 5 draft pick next offseason. God Bless you Belkin, and thank you Atlanta. The Phoenix Suns love you!
