It's really amazing Morrison was taken #3 overall a few yrs back and can't do anything apparently. I thought he would be at least a solid bench player in the NBA but it didn't happen. He would nothing for us.

Smoove is a complete moronic idiot on the court. He has 3 TO's bouncing the ball off the backboard making stupid passes.

We would never get McGee as well. 22 yr old 7 footers that can jump out of the building with a monster wingspan are slim to none of actually landing. McGee is more valuable than bibby/marvin alone

Man I would be happy as hell if we got Brooks or Sessions. I think they are both CLEAR upgrades over Bibby. They are both quick as s*** and can get to the lane and dish to Joe, Horf and Smoove which is what we need at the PG position. Bibby doesn't even average 4 assists a game! We get one of those 2 guys I think it will make a big difference in how far we go in the playoffs.

I don't know about anyone else but I have this feeling we WILL make a trade for a PG. It will either be Brooks or Sessions. I just can't see us not trading for either one of those guys. Either could be had fairly easily. ASG has GOT to see the writing on the wall here. If the Hawks don't make a trade before the deadline I'm gonna snap. We MUST address the PG situation or the season is lost and it will be a 1st round exit. Get on the phones and make some moves Sund!

If a deal goes down for Melo and Billups to either NJ or NY, I would assume that Denver has gone into rebuilding mode. If so I would think Nene would be available. If so would you do a Smoove for Nene trade (assuming Nene signs an extension)?

I think with Nene and the propose trade for Sessions. We now could start to have a balance lineup of:

Johnson

Williams

Horford

Nene

Depending on what we have to give up for Nene we could still have Bibby and Jamal. Off the bench.

Yeah not for Nene alone. Smoove is way more valuable than that.

This should be fun...we are going with the smaller lineup...AL at Center...which makes sense since they have no imposing post presence.

Well i'm from Indiana and Smoove was planning on going to IU but went pro instead... so 'those up there' do know about what happened in regards to him possibly going to IU even if he is from 'down here'. LOL

OK - so you have watched Smoove's development over the last 6 years or so just like I have. That means you have watched him go from a raw kid who couldn't score at all unless it was a dunk (couldn't make a layup in the nba to save his life)...to where he is now.

Do I think Smoove is all that he can be? no. Have I watched him develop his game via off season work every year ? yes. Do I think he will develop into an all around player who can be trusted to do most everything right before he loses his hops? I dunno...

But I know he tries.

Uh...last time I checked he is getting paid 10mil + a year so I expect him to TRY! Give me a break man. This guy is a paid professional who has now been in the NBA for 6 yrs and is still one of the most immature players in the league.

Fact is Smoove is dumb on the basketball court and isn't thai bright off the court from what i've seen. Anyone who disagrees is fooling themselves. I'm not saying the guy needs to be a brain surgeon. How about play to your strengths? He just doesn't get it! Smoove does the same s*** over and over and NEVER learns. Just keep shooting them jumpers smoove at the WORST times of the games when you are a horrible jump shooter. He is just dumb man. I'm sick of him. Trade him.

I didn't say I got his scores. I simply said I heard from people in the know up there that said he wasn't the brightest tool in the shed. And after watching him play for the last 6+ yrs. I see what they mean.

Again, untrue. Going into the draft that year, Josh was projected to go as high as 5th overall and fell due to questions about his work ethic to the Hawks at 17. Originally, the Hawks were going to take him 6th but after reports surfaced about his work ethic he dropped in the mocks to as low as 20. Never did he fall out of the mock draft's top 20 and with guaranteed big money on the table, went pro instead of going to Indiana.

Most Mocks that year had the Hawks taking Luol Deng 6th. The 2004 draft was extremely strong and any variance from perfect weighed heavily that year. For a refresher, take a look at the players that went in 2004.

Duhon and Varejeo were 2nd rounders. Much of that first round are solid NBA'ers today. Which is rare.

I'm not arguing what spot he was going to go in the draft. I'm simply stating i have insider info from boosters and family up at IU that said he wasn't going to be able to attend the school because of grades and lack of IQ.

I agree that his fanboys made him be something he's not and now are mad and want him gone. That's why I am not mad. I never got into Smith's hype but I knew his game. He's grown a lot and now I respect him. Ppl say he is dumb and he is but he used to be much much worst as far as BBIQ goes. He was JaVale McGee before JaVale McGee. Ppl want him to be Shawn Kemp but that was never possible physically for Josh. I like him, he's a high impact player. One I like watching on some nights and I am able to deal with his nonsense. I hope he stays in Atlanta for awhile unless we can get CP3 or Deron for him.

He's the super athletic Lamar Odom with much better defense and much worst ball-handling and decision making skills. He's probably better coming off the bench while Marvin should start but we need to get legit in the starting five first. He's the perfect 6th man. More than even Jamal for us. He can be our Manu when Manu used to come off the bench.

This would give us maximum use of our starting five with high IQ players on the same page. Smith is coming off the bench to provide a lot of talent and a major spark. When those players (Mayo and Thabeet) reach good to solid in terms of overall ability. This means our starting five is very good like San Antonio but Smith attitude and BBIQ can sometimes change the flow of the game which Manu had issues with a couple years back and Odom did as well in LA. Smith could provide a lot of help and a major boost to the team off the bench.

Right now as currently constructed, we are not talented enough to not start Josh.

That's not going to work. That's a current Indiana Pacers like lineup in terms of overall team in the starting five. So I hope that's what happens when he get better players. We can move Smith to the bench as a 6th man. He would excel there and won't lose us games like he does at times for us now. Just my take.

I think you can ask all the older posters who dislike Smith more than me on this site for years. Everyone would tell you me without question. But to say he can't read, come on man, it's not that serious in his case. He's not even close to the dumbest players in the NBA today. He's the dumbest star player but no where close to the dumbest player.

I think you give Smoove a little too much credit on his intelligence. Try watching one of his interviews again. The guy can barley form coherent sentences. He had to jump to the NBA out of high school. I'm from IU and a huge Hoosier fan and we had him committed. Turns out he was too dumb to even go to school there from what I heard internally.

John Wall doesn't scare me the slightest, I would be scared if he was our teams franchise savior, the dude has been such a disappointment this season.

Are you serious? Wall is averaging 15pts, 9.2ast. and almost 2stls a game and it's his ROOKIE year. I wouldn't say that is a big disappointment. He would be rookie of the year hands down if Griffin wasn't elgible for it.

Curry makes nowhere near 10-12 mil that Smoove makes. It would have to be Biedrins/Curry or something just to make the salaries match.
