  1. For those questions asked of me: I just forgot to put Jalen in option 2 or 3, whichever one I forgot to list him in. My apologies, it was really late when I finally heard back from that source and could post about this. The only option on the table right now for Jalen to be traded is option #1, the Giannis trade. He would remain a Hawk otherwise. For the salary matching purposes with SAS: they would include someone(s) just to make the salaries work. I heard Keldon Johnson name and frankly to me he's just a salary with a body attached. He has no appeal to me at all.
  2. The source cleared me to reveal the name of the superstar. It is Giannis. I am not saying it is going to happen but it is being discussed and it depends on if Giannis wants to come to Atlanta. This is from my source and from @NBASupes source. It also leaves the option to trade for BI and the team would look roughly something like: Trae Bogi/Kobe Ingram/Hunter Giannis OO The longer version of what I've heard can come down to three options for our roster: The above option, the "Push All The Chips In" is what I call it. We will be a good team, no question, but with a scary future with no firsts for a long time. 2nd Option: We trade Murray and AJ to NO for BI and the Lakers 2025 unprotected first We keep Trae. We do NOT trade for Giannis. We use the #1 pick on Sarr. Team would be: Trae Bogi/Kobe Ingram/Hunter Sarr/either Capela or OO 3rd option: We blow it all up. SAS have offered 4, 8 and all our picks back for Trae. We move him. We keep the #1 pick. We move Murray not to the Pelicans but to the Pistons or another team I've been told not to mention that has picks/young guys. Roster would be: (this is my postulating at possible draft results) Reed Sheppard Bogi/Kobe Hunter/#8 pick in this draft Sarr/OO We have all our picks back as well as picks and young guys from moving Murray to either the Pistons or mystery team. Which option do you guys and gal prefer? I think the 3rd option is the best one but the 2nd option is more safe. The first option MIGHT win us a title...but then we'll be in purgatory for years with no draft picks. If someone can make a poll with these three options, please do so, you have my blessing. These are the three big scenarios the Hawks FO is discussing now and in the upcoming time to the draft.
  3. Always there for you, my friend. We need to hang out again, been too long!
  4. I didn't say that neither did my sources. They said Trae's already talked with the FO. This is 2024. They could have a Skype and have the same result for all I know.
  5. You missed the part, I can't confirm if it was Giannis, but our #1 pick is going OUT in the proposed trade. #1 pick in 2024 Jalen Johnson Capela two future firsts for superstar
  6. I was asked to not repeat it. I don't know if @NBASupes wants to share the name or hold onto it because his sources asked for the same privacy.
  7. I have heard that Trae has already told the FO to either make the team a contender now or trade him and he wants to go to the Spurs. I was told the Spurs are offering 4, 8 and all our picks back for Trae. I was told this is the most likely scenario because Tony Ressler doesn't want to give up our first ever #1 pick and wants to use it. Trae hasn't talked about the #1 pick because he wants it used to get a superstar player, I've heard a name twice once from my source and once from @NBASupes but I don't want to repeat it out loud just yet until my source is cool with it. It would cost us the #1 pick, Jalen and two additional firsts and I think Capela to make it work. IMO that's too rich. I'd rather blow this up and start over than depend on two or three guys carrying a roster. Look at the Suns or Nets and how well that turned out for them.
  8. Yes, I wish he had longer arms but honestly he's already an elite shooter and has elite hands. If we blow the roster up and come away with Sarr, Reed and whatever at 8 then I would be happy.
  9. For other guys at the combine results, Reed Sheppard had the highest vertical max at 42 inches. He's the 6'3" in shoes white kid that is simply amazing. If they blew up this roster and we could draft Sarr, Reed Sheppard and the best wing or another big at 8 I think that team could be exciting as living hell to watch.
  10. It would be crazy on some level to me that if we draft Sarr, which we should do, we finally get Trae an athletic defensive big that can lob like crazy and also shoot ....and we trade Trae?
  11. No one is taking Edey at 1. I am just tired of people just making up things about him. They just did the combine and Edey was really good.
  12. You are categorical incorrect. He had great testing at the combine.
  13. FWIW edey killed all of the drills. He is more athletic than Clingan and several other bigs.
  14. Heard from another non Hawks source that is a league source. Source is convinced we are taking Sarr.
  15. It comes down frankly to one thing: if Tony Ressler believes this current roster + #1 pick or DJM trade return, current roster + #1 pick is worth paying the luxury tax. It truly begins and ends with that decision.
  16. I probably need to put my updates out of this thread and back into the insider one, sorry. I did comment on this before. Basically in short winning the lottery was nowhere near the team's radar. It has definitely changed offseason plans. The emphasis on scouting has obviously went up to make sure they make the right pick. There is real talk about the direction of the franchise because...I truly don't want to upset people but I have to be honest. There's real talk about sending Trae to the Spurs for their picks in this draft plus our picks back. I do not know how likely it is. Our FO has went from thinking a BI trade and a "rotation player" at 10 was the most likely outcome this summer and Trae would still be here. Now there's real talk about how do they think this core team even with the #1 pick can really contend (also be worthy of paying the LT for) or do you pull the plug and start a true 100% rebuild with Sarr being the face of the rebuild. If that were to happen, and again I am not advocating for it or saying it will happen, then there would be absolutely no reason to trade Murray for BI. If anything it would be more likely to keep Murray at PG and have him be the veteran leader of a rebuild around him. If they decide to keep the pick and not rebuild then I imagine based on what I've heard before the lottery selection show and after it that the plan would be take Sarr at 1, keep Trae, flip DJM for BI and your team next year would look like: Trae Bogi/Kobe BI/Hunter JJ/Gueye Sarr/whoever they keep between Capela or OO Add in that above roster probably Dyson Daniels as well.
  17. I actualy feel the same way. I'm a nice guy, trying to put modesty aside, but I am a die hard basketball lifer and my heart belongs to the Hawks but all they do is screw up and break it. I get that.
  18. He was 18 playing in one of the best foreign leagues in the world. He just turned 19. He might be the fastest 7 footer I've ever seen. He has good basketball in. He has elite defense.
  19. don't let some speculation about things get you down. We just got the #1 pick for the first time EVER. It is a happy day for Hawks fans!
  20. I'm not advocating it. I am saying if they decide to blow it up this is the kind of situation that is almost ideal for it.
  21. I think I have been very clear on my feelings of Tony Ressler. He should sell the team if he is not going to pay the LT. This "manna from heaven" is going to show we either pay the LT to boost the team around the # pick and Trae...or he's so cheap he uses this as the jump start to a rebuild...confirming he will never pay the LT.
  22. If we were to do that...I would be excited beyond belief for this team in the long term. Short term, yes, losing Trae will hurt but LONG TERM if those guys play to what they can be...we could be talking titles here.
  23. My Twolf source directly compared Sarr to KG for this generation. They believe no matter what his offense develops having a truly elite defensive player would stop so much of the bleeding in our defense. We got backdoor to death for the last three seasons
  24. It's closer to being a reality than you might think. Trae always tweets about everything Hawks...and he says nothing about the team getting the #1 pick out of literal nowhere. That is telling.
