  1. most frustrating player to coach in the NBA.......without a doubt.

Really, how would you know, JackB1? Have you ever been a coach? Also, you are implying that we have a coach, which we don't. I don't think he would be that frustrating for anyone else. No other coach in the leage would dump on him the way Woody has. That is just silly. The overwhelming majority of our problems are created by Woodson's inadequacy as a coach and teacher. To pawn so many of these off on Josh is just pathetic for him to do, imo.

  2. You are all a bunch of F'N Morons. Joe is in the top 10-15 players in the league so wtf would you move him and Smoove or Al for a chump like Mcgrady. If I trade Joe, Smoove and Al it better be for a guy who is named after a city in Japan that begins with K. Joe is having a bad series but how quickly you guys forget how well he played vs Boston last year. How quickly you forget this series still has a game 7 left to be played.

Where is the warning for NJHawk? Not for his language, which is inappropriate, but for thinking Joe is is in the top 10 in NBA players. Seriously? There is a legitimate argument as to whether he belongs in the top 30. And let's not even get into dollar for dollar type of analysis.

Having said that, I'm not for ever trading Josh. Joe on the other hand, might net us a younger, hungrier, more dynamic and explosive player. An organization with more assets at their disposal, might give us the next big thing because they want a sure thing right now.

  3. What has JP done in the NFL that warrants your praise? Also, Georgia, with Shockley DID rush for over 2000 yards on the ground that year... And they weren't ranked #1, but were very close (finished #2 or 3)... Also they won the SEC Championship that year, unlike JPW and Bama did this past season... NFL throwing like motion... You're really grasping Troy... But you are right that he hasn't played for a reason... That reason is known as Matt Ryan...

I'm not praising Parker, but he did start for 3 years and he throws a solid football, machanics- wise. He drops his shoulder and slings too much, but that can be corrected. That's not grasping, that's understanding. Mechanics generally play a large role.

Did two different Falcons regimes say" We're not going to play this guy on the chance we get this sophmore from BC in a few years"? No. If you can't pass Joey Harrington and Chris Redman, who was out of football for two years, you aren't going to start over anyone.

  4. LOL It's fixed guys. Can't you see that. We got like 6 fouls in 3 minutes because we were burying them. During that same stretch there was a lead pass down court that haslem caught and took 4 steps before turning and throwing it back. Can't let this series go less than 7. Can't let Wade be ousted in the first round. Can't let a fresh team face Lebron in the second round. Welcome to the NBA the Nobody Believe Anything league.

That was a sad sorry 3 minutes of officiating and some of the best evidence yet of a game being fixed. Bibby had a bloody nose from getting decked by Wade and then got called for an illegal screen seconds later for basically standing back up.

Yeah, it's basically like David Stern is the producer and the refs are the Broadway directors.

  5. Hilarious... But let's take a better look...

    JP Wilson's senior year... 58% completion percentage... 2243 yards, 9TDs and 7ints...

DJ's senior year... 56% completion percentage... 2588 yards, 24TDs and 5ints... (I'll leave out the rushing stats)

In other words, time for some glasses Troy...

    7

None of that has anything to do with pro football. Also, Georgia, with Shockley, didn't run for over 2,000 yds on the ground like Bama. And they weren't ranked #1 for much of the year and taking people's best shots. Parker has a more NFL like throwing motion as well, and he started for 3 years.

There is a reason he doesn't play. Someone else would have wanted him by now if he could.

  6. I would be equally upset if Horford and Zaza were chucking 3pters at the rate Josh Smith does. I agree it is not the difference between winning a championship or not, but that isn't a useful criteria, IMO. It is low hanging fruit in terms of coaching and player development.

If you were rooting for quarterback prospects running a 40 yard dash and saw that Stafford had a 5 pound weight chained to his back, you would scream for him to remove it. Now removing it wouldn't allow him to beat Pat White but it would be a very easy, very obvious first step to improving performance. JS's 3pt shooting is low hanging fruit and an indictment of Woodson's offensive system (or lack thereof), IMO.

It doesn't mean I stop cheering for Josh or want to get rid of him. I just want to see him enjoy more success by improving his basketball IQ.

I'm just saying that his shooting, which will improve, I believe firmly, is waaaay down on the complaint list. Far behind Joe's inability to "lead" and Woody's coaching, among other things. And i think his I.Q. is right on course. Personally, I'm impressed with his ability to deal with Woodson for this long. He's been a whipping boy and it is totally ridiculous. We are lucky he hasn't demanded a trade with the Way Woodson has acted. I'll take the 3's. It's better than watching Joe dribble.

  7. That is pathetic. Man up.

I've been saying for years that he was incapable of that. Seems more and more people are seeing the light about Mike Woodson. He's just a joke of a coach and his resume is disgusting if you take away the chump change years with Larry Brown, Chauncey, Rip and Sheed. Should have never been interviewed, much less hired. Only a few more years, guys. No hurries, players don't age or anything, right?

  8. Wilson is a camp body... Nothing more, nothing less...

    7

Not that I'm comparing, but I'm sure someone said that about Brady, too. And Unitas, and Warner, etc. Don't be so quick to write people off.

Parker certainly has issues, but he could very well make the team. Shockley is just terrible throwing the football.

  9. LOL you are so full of it. Without Josh's play in the first 18 minutes we lose this game. Got to agree the 3 pointers didn't look good but please get some credibility. 4 blocked shots for the game. His hustle in the first 18 minutes led the Hawks to their lead.

Hawks plus/minus for the game organized by first to last.

Zaza Pachulia (+20)....huge ups for Zaza.

    Josh Smith (+20).....

    Mo Evans (+16)....

Mike Bibby (+11)... huge turnaround from the first 3 games

    Joe Johnson (+11)

    Flip Murray....(+5)

Al Horford...(-8)...This is where your venom should be getting spewed.

Mario West...(-10) This was in only 5 minutes

Solomon Jones...(-15) This was in only 3 minutes.

I agree. Not that teke is full of it, but the rest of it. People need a reality check. The Hawks aren't going to win a title this year, or next. As long as Woody is here, it ain't happening. Not even a solid run, much less a title. This brings me to Josh. Should he stop trying and displaying a passion for the game that no one else on the Hawks seems to have? No. If he doesn't ever shoot another 3, are we going to compete for a title? No. So what's the point? That he isn't executing Woody's master plan? Seriously. I did see him hit a long j from the corner, too. Honestly, the criticism for Josh is just really silly and ill-conceived. I've got a feeling everyone will be glad he took all of these shots in these years if we ever get a real coach and GM down the road.

  10. Don't get me wrong, I'm not terribly optimistic that they'll win game 4. But, if they do, they're right back where they started in game 1.

    Just win game 4, please.

I wish I had your optimism. The prospect of winning 3 out of 4 or, 3 in a row, seems impossible with this kind of coaching and play and lack of floor leadership.

  11. No worries, Woodson is certain to be fired if we lose this series. I'd like to see a few of the players go with him too.

I'm not so sure, dolfan. He's no different a coach today than he was 4 years ago. The fact that the Hawks management hasn't noticed this, tells you something about their intellect. They have no clue how basketball should be played and don't fully realize that there aren't as many obstacles to us winning as they have been told. Make no mistake, there is no "plan". Think about it. Mike Woodson is probably the sharpest basketball mind in the Hawks organization. Seriously. That's sad. But it is the Hawks.

  12. Kenny Smith exposing our offense to the national media. I'm glad this is happening since we've been bitching about it all season. ISO basketball, the classic, beautiful Mike Woodson offense.

I really don't see the problem with Smith taking jumpers at this point since nobody else can do anything right and we can't get a good shot anyway.

There is nothing to expose. Only someone completely ignorant of the dynamics of basketball could not see it.

The funny thing was when Chuck was dissing the whole era. Notice he did it when Webber wasn't there. Webber was part of the crappy era and responsible, in part, for today's type of player. Chuck actually seemed upset that he had to play against great players and teams in the playoffs, instead of the likes of the Hawks and Heat. That's what needs to be exposed. The fact that basketball sucks really hard compared to just 10 years ago.

  13. What do you mean, might? Bumpy, I've said since he was hired that if the team ever got to the playoffs, he would kill our chances. That's why the improvement in wins did not impress me. Really, it's amazing that they've gotten this far playing streetball on offense and switch everything defense.

His absolute stupidity in not wanting to double around the 3 pt line is bad even for him, though. He doesn't want to leave us vulnerable down low, he says. What? We've got Zaza, Horford and Smith. I think they can handle Miami's frontline. He's just an idiot and he's playing right into Miami's hands.

This is the brand of coaching I've been talking about for years. When are the rest of you going to wake up? He's not terrible, he's far beyond it. Sorry, I'm not Nostradamus, but I called this years ago.

  14. He's been a little eratic for me, but yes, you're right that he needs the adjustment period. Sucking was too hard a word, but eratic or inconsistant (as much as you can be in two starts) is probably more in line.

Nonetheless, Hanson shouldn't be called up unless he gets the #4 slot in the rotation or he won't pitch on a regular enough basis to develop properly.

I agree with that. Tonight is huge, by the way. They have to stop the bleeding. I did not see that sweep coming.

  15. You don't lead the NBA in rebounding by playing smaller than you actually are. You also don't AVERAGE 10 boards a game for a long career. Seriously what's your formula for evaluating a player? You think a rebounding champion plays smaller than their stature? Funny.

With that above post I now see your agenda. You don't like big guys who play at the top. I get it. I'm not a big fan of it myself. But you're using that to mischaracterize a player to do what only 4? other players have EVER done. 3 of those are in the HOF and one is still playing. I'm not saying Webber is a HOFer but he's a lot better than you're giving him credit for.

To your first point : I refer to Sir Charles. You could put a 6'10" broom on the floor and 10 rebounds will find it. He should have averaged at least 10 rebounds.

To the second : I actually love intelligent players with a jumper playing the high post. Also, they have to be able to pass and cut hard, set picks and be able to both pop and roll. Webber just made backdoor passes and threw up bricks. Poor floor chemistry, imo. The Kings could have been a whole lot better had Webber defered more, imo.

  16. I'll answer this question, although I think it speaks volumes on how your agenda affects your perceived few of reality. I agree with you in that I do believe the teams success was incidental to Webbers. The flaw from your standpoint is that in the 6 years he helped lead them into the playoffs (every year he was there) only twice did they fail to make it out of the first round. One of those being to the Champion Lakers. So I now ask you..WTF are you talking about?

So hopefully you can somehow manage to see that your view of his past is extremely skewed no matter how much bball you've played in your past. As you can see the amount of high school ball you play does not always equal the amount of ball knowledge you posses.

The flaw from your standpoint is that in the 6 years he helped lead them into the playoffs (every year he was there) only twice did they fail to make it out of the first round.

It was 7 years. Look it up. The Kings with Webber(and many others) lost in the first round exactly 3 times. The first two years and the last one. In between they went to the semis, the CF, the semis, and the semis, in that order.

I have a personal viewpoint of how basketball should be played and I do not appreciate his style of play. He thought he was a lot more talented and entitled than he should have. And he's just a jerk of a human being. Guess what, you're still a human being on a basketball court.

Josh Smith, has the potential to be a very good shooter from the outside. It's all about coaching and floor rhythm and chemistry. Of which, we don't have much. Say what you will about him but Josh Smith tries really hard. IMO, the same thing can't be said for Webber.
