  1. Yi is so good the Bucks have already given up on him after one season. Where's Walter at nowadays?
  2. Horford has been miserable in this game. He should not be scoreless against Chicago's front court.
  3. I think Horford could learn a lot from someone like an Olajuwon or Kareem. With his soft touch from the perimeter, and his handle, he could really develop into a very solid scorer, and I think a player like Hakeem could bring it out in him.
  4. I'm not all that high on Jordan. He's compared to Dwight Howard, but has a looooooooooooong ways to go before he's even in the same realm as Dwight. Howard would be putting up like 24 and 15 in colllege.
  5. Noah's a really good passer for a 7 footer, and he handles the ball exceptionally well for his height as well. That's why Florida was so good the previous two seasons because Horford and Noah both had the ability to handle, pass, and run the floor as bigs and not many college big men have that entire package, much less two on the same team. They'll both be starters for many years and both will be solid pro's. Brewer is the only one I'm uncertain about, but even as bad as he's been offensively this season, his defense hasn't faded and he's drawn rave reviews for his ability to play D. We'll see how he does next season.

    "Fools Gold"

Yi is no future superstar in this league, and he's got a good ways to go (much more than Horford) before he's even a 'good' player. The guy is an Andrea Bargnani clone, minus Bargs' range and has even less of a post game than Bargnani does. He's incredibly weak in the post and has to rely on an inconsistent jump shot to get his points. Nothing about the guy screams future mismatch or superstar.
  7. Durant's still in the game while the other rookie starters have been out for a while.
  8. Yi = slightly better rebounding and shotblocking version of Bargnani. Kid has no post game at all.
  9. Aldridge hasn't done anything so far against Horford.
  10. Rodriguez? I'll pass. He's shooting 36% from the floor and is horrendous defensively. It's gotten to the point where Blazer fans want to see what Taurean Green (he of the two NCAA titles) can bring to the table. He'd probably no worse than Rodriguez has done.
  11. Diop is truly not very good and I think he's WAY overrated on this board. He has NO offensive game at all, isn't all that great of a rebounder for his size, athleticism, and length, and is merely a one-dimensional shot blocker. He's a solid defender, but when you bring nothing else to the table, it's hard to get excited about him. People just want him here because he's 7'0 and can block some shots.
  12. Quote: Quote: Andrea Bargnani looked like a star in the making after his rookie season, too, No he didn't, at ALL. If you base it on Walter's criteria, he did. Except Bargnani has even better range than Yi and is a better passer. Neither has a post game worth a damn and both are atrocious rebounders for bigs.
  13. Quote: Quote: after his hot start. He is averaging 9.6 ppg shooting 43% and his Roland Rating is now at -2. Horford's is -.5. That's funny as hell. Yi wasn't supposed to have anything like a "hot start" making the huge adjustment from international ball to the NBA. He didn't have a "hot start", he's just good despite the obstacles. In 3, maybe after 2 years he'll be better. W 9.6 PPG on 43% shooting is good? Horford's better and even might be younger (most believe Yi is 22). Newsflash: Andrea Bargnani looked like a star in the making after his rookie season, too, and he's got the exact type of game Yi does.
  14. Hard to show progress when you really don't touch the ball a whole lot offensively. Give Horford the offseason to work on his game, and I think you'll be pleasantly surprised at his improvement. He did the same thing between his sophomore and junior campaigns at Florida, and came back vastly improved. FWIW, he also has a nice spin move on offense (i.e. Clippers game where he spinned for a dunk) that he utilized a lot in college, but hasn't so far in the pros. I just think he's a little apprehensive offensively right now given his small role on that side of the ball. Over time, with more touches and more involvement in the offense, you'll see his confidence and scoring go up.
  15. Horford's jumper is solid, he's just not hitting it so far tonight.
  16. The Hawks have played great to get back in this game, despite the fact that Horford has been god awful all game long. Zaza actually stepped up tonight and played well.
  17. The Hawks are treating Dalembert like he's Bill Russell in his prime or something. Stop with the weak sissy crap and go at him.

    Sene watch

Quote: Quote: Everytime I watched Sene play, he looked absolutely horrible. Not a fan. When did you watch him play? It isn't like he has seen much NBA action. I have league pass, so I watch a lot of Seattle games since they usually come on after Hawks games. In the spare minutes he got, he didn't impress. Granted, it was in extremely limited time, but he's just incredibly raw. While he COULD get better, I just don't see it happening. He'll never be an offensive threat because he has no touch and bad hands, and he doesn't seem to give much effort rebounding the ball, either. I think he could be a very good shot blocker who could play some minutes her and there, but 'meh', he just doesn't do it for me. I guess it couldn't hurt to invest in him, at the right price, but I don't see NBA success in his future.

    Sene watch

Quote: Quote: Is he more talented than Solo? We need to give him a chance before we go off and do that. Solo doesn't have the size to play center. He isn't tall enough or strong enough. Sene is 6'11" without shoes. His standing reach is 9'5" (Solo's is 9'1"). The only guy i know that has a higher reach is Yao at 9'7". You can't teach size. Sene is also 2 years younger than Solomon. Ugh, the dreaded "you can't teach size" line. They say that for every tall stiff that can't play. You can't teach skill, either, of which Sene has none. He can block shot, sure, but with that height and length, anyone could. Everytime I watched Sene play, he looked absolutely horrible. Not a fan.
  20. Johnson is pathetic. Thornton is shooting .418 percent for the season and averaging under nine points a game and he's going off like he's the next Dominique on the Hawks. What terrible defense.
  21. Whoever is guarding Thornton is making him look like an All-Star.
  22. That doesn't surprise me... the Suns are the biggest floppers in the league. Amare used to flop like a little [censored] against Dwight Howard and the Suns used to frustrate the heck out of Dwight because of it.
  23. Where the hell did Al go? He's still stuck on 11 rebounds?
