  1. I say we sign Johan Petro and Othello Hunter.

Joe Smith is probably going to the Pistons. The fact that nothing has happened with him is bad.

Petro is a 7'0 250 lb Center. I think he can be a good player off the bench and a project at the same time. Fire Morris.

From Petro in about 15 minutes per, I think we can get about 6 points, 6 rebs. He would be another set of fouls when we play the big boys.

I like Hunter. He's got good bones. I think that with work, he can definitely see more playing time.

Other guys I have considered are: Chris Mihm (established post game but coming off surgery). Shelden (good for rebounds, but would he want to play for Wood again?).

Why can't we find a Jason Thompson??

I say we go after Siler and Hakim Warrick or Pops before we think about Petro.

Chris Mihm is a big man I wouldn't mind having. He put up decent numbers as long as he is healthy.

Hell No to Sheldon Williams. I don't want him back at all. He is horrible!!!

If we can get Siler and one more young, athletic player then we could have a very powerful bench. Lets get Flip back as well!

  2. Only after we offer Flip Murray a contract. After that then yes go after this guy. He is young and very explosive. Would be a great addition to an already good bench. But only after Flip.

  3. This doesn't bother me what so ever. The media never thinks Atlanta will do anything. I love proving these guys wrong every year! They just don't know what they are talking about! If our team has improved from last year and we were a 4 seed. How can we get that much worse of just basing that Crawford has never been in the playoffs and Al is still at center??

  4. If I had to pick one I would choose Joe Smith. He puts up solid numbers for a vet and is a tough defensive player as well.

Ben Wallace looked dead last year. I don't really think he would fit in well with the Hawks. At this point in his career I don't think he has anything to offer.

Bruce Bowen would add good defensive presence and a vetern mentalilty but what has happened to his offensive game?

I am still in favor of bringing in two younger, more athletic big men. Add Siler and bring in Pops Mensah-Bonsu, Chris Mihm, Hakim Warrick, and resigning Flip Murray and Mario West.

  5. There's no way someone like Siler is going to play for the Hawks this year unless there are a lot of injuries. He is not a short-term big solution.

I think that Woodson is going to rotate the roster a little bit different now that Crawford is coming off the bench. If Siler turns out to be the player is being written out to be then we may be suprised. I'm not saying he is a short term big solution. I'm saying he could work his way into a valuable option off the bench. Something that Solo or Randolph could not do. He would be that guy that saves Al and Zaza a few breathes at the end of a quarter. I hope he turns out to be better then Solo or Randolph.

  6. Dumb stat. Woodson has made it to the playoffs twice. Whether you like him or not he was the coach that coached our team into the playoffs. He is the coach that has coached our team to a better record every year. He is the coach that hung with us during our reboulding years. He got us to a home court advantage in the 1st round. He coached us into the 2nd round.

  7. Again I ask.. If we had Caron Butler or Paul Pierce on this team.. do you think that they would be 4th options? Do you think that they would fail into the same "ROLE" that Marvin does?

I think you assume that Marvin is ASKED to play that role.

I think Marvin knows he is being asked to be a 3rd or 4th option. He knows he is not the scorer that Joe Johnson or Mike Bibby are being asked of. He knows he is not going to be asked to be the explosive scorer that Josh Smith can create. He has a great jump shot that is really clutch when Joe is being doubled or they are swinging the ball around the top.

He is a solid tool in this starting lineup. Now that he is a threat behind the 3 point line, he makes his mark on this team as an option to give the ball to and have faith that he connects with a jumper when you need it. His drive to the rim from the side is strong and his defense isn't bad. As long as he is healthy is does his job very well.

  8. Well perhaps I misspoke but he would guard Centers so Duncan wouldn't have to, he did the same for Bosh in Toronto. And yes Solo was a physical specimen given his height. length. and athleticism he just couldn't put it together with coordination.

Bring Bonsu in! He would make a solid bench player for Smith, Horford. Very athletic, good defense, player that can still improve his game. Can get him cheap! I like him above Joe Smith.

  9. At some point these players need to learn how to be NBA players and they are not going to do it by listening to guys who never learned how to be NBA player's themselves.

Who are you refurring to when you say "these players need to learn how to be NBA players"? I think Mike Bibby and Joe Johnson are leaders on this team. What is Joe Smith going to do? Teach Josh Smith something? I doubt that. Marvin Williams, Al Horford, and even Josh Smith are very solid NBA players.

Josh Smith had vetern players flooting around while he was playing. Kenny Anderson, Jon Barry, Kevin Willis, Tony Delk, Antione Walker.

Marvin Williams grew up with Joe, Tony Delk, and Al Harrington

Al has had Bibby, Joe, Zaza, etc...

I would much rather spend less money and aquire a couple young athletic players that can still improve their game. Mike Bibby and Joe Johnson are solid vets to me. Al Horford is a great guy to learn from. He plays like a vet.

  10. It looks like the owners are going to force Woodson to play the starters 40 minutes per game again. Why do they keep talking about Randolph Morris as if he has NBA talent? Anytime he was on the court last year he looked like a worthless player out there. I know he didn't get much playing time, but you also don't give the vibe that this is a a real NBA player. Sent him down to the development league and be done with him.

I don't know. Morris got absolutly no playing time. I bet his playing time goes up this year. He has size and can bang down low. If given the chance and confidense to bang with the big boys he might turn out not to be all that bad. I don't expect him to become a stand out back up but if he can consistently provide quality minutes off the bench then I'm all for him.

-Resolve the Marv issue. Give him a nice contract.

    -Sign Siler

    -Sign Hakim Warrick
