I don't like him because he can't coach........he plays Joe for 47 mins a game, then wodners why he cant shoot in the 2nd round of the playoffs. He has no control over Josh Smith, and didn't even give ACie a chance to do anything......
Acie was given chances and choked. He was great at driving past defenders but would completely miss a layup. He couldn't shoot in the NBA.
Josh Smith is a slow rotting cancer in my opinion. Unless he stop with the whiny faces every time he drives and can put up the numbers he can: 18 ppg 9 rbp 2.5 bpg, he is no use to me.
Joe Johnson has to play those minutes. That is why I am asking for another very good player to take the load off him. He is constatly double teamed and gets the toughest defender every game. If he was played a tightly as anyone else on the Hawks he would be putting up 25 ppg easy. He is THE man. Hopefully Crawford will give him the rest so Joe can continue to dominate!
Our team has gotten better every year Woodson has been our coach. You have to give him credit for that! He has put the right men on the court every year.

Dude your a jerk. You just made me get real angry before I opened that. Mike Woodson is great in Atlanta. He is part of our new team. Why do you not like him??
-
i still do not think we would be able to win the east. we may be athletic and able to score, but our defense would be terrible and we would have a hard time getting alot of rebounds
Idk. Amare did average 2 blocks per game when he was healthy 2 years ago. He averages a career 9 rebounds per game. With his added scoring and rebounding, Crawford coming off the bench, Bibby staying in ATL, and resigning Zaza and Flip, I say we might have a running for the ship. Now the question would be who do you give up, Al or Josh? Marv and Rights to J Chill??

thats a good possible sign n trade...marv for marion..contracts could be worth about the same. I wouldn't hate that.
I agree somewhat. I agree that Atlanta needs to step up their game and sign someone big but for some reason I'm a bit hesistate with Marion. He really didn't beast in TOR, just 14 ppg. I am for bringing in Amare. But I would bring in Marion. I think you rotate him with Marvin if we were to keep Marvin.
I offer Marion no more then 7 per year though.
Quoted wrong person...Sry...

The argument was whether or not Bibby was the Hawks' best offensive player in the playoffs, not who should be the go to guy.
So who was the Hawks' best player in the playoffs? Bibby, Josh Smith or someone else?
Mike Bibby. One point is he doesn't take stupid shots that he shouldn't take. Another is this (Sry if someone has said this).
Mike Bibby shot 46% from the field. Josh Smith 42%
Mike Bibby 54% from the three. Josh Smith 13%
Mike Bibby 96% free throw. Josh Smith 73%
Mike Bibby averaged 13.2 ppg. Josh Smith 17.1 ppg
Mike Bibby averaged 2 less minutes per game.
And Why Does Josh Smith ever shoot threes??? 2-15!
Josh Smith gets all his points from assists. He can't create his own shot. His defense was subpar is you truly analaze it.
If you want to talk about steals. This "amazing" player recored 12. Joe had 14, Bibby had 10, Flip had 12, nothing special out of Josh.
If you want to talk about blocks. Josh had 17. Al had 6 and played 10 less minutes PER game. And yes I expect Josh to get much more blocks then anyone else. Josh averaged 1.5 block per game in the playoffs. Nothing special.

There's always been a huge misconception about Camby's post presence. The guy is a poor to average post and man defender, where he makes his living is on help defense and weakside blocks. We already have those talents in Josh who actually has about 15 pounds on Camby but just without the rebounding accumen. I'd prefer a better man defender in the post to Camby.
HAHA...Josh Smith's defense is over hyped big time. He gets all his blocks from helpside defense. I watch Josh Smith just give up on a man when he is "too far" away from him. I see him slide to the side and let men lay it up. I see him stand under the rim and let men dunk on him. Camby is stronger on boards and would be great for our team.

Dwight needs a ring. Shaq is still a force with the right team.
-
If only Bibby would play defense.
If only Zaza could dribble.
If only Mike Woodson were a basketball coach... :top secret:
Mike Woodson is a great coach!
-
Give him 3 mill and get him over here!

No doubt. I checked the stats for everyone I mentioned (not just some bullcrap stats that nobody has ever heard of). Josh Smith was clearly better than Bibby and everyone else, and that was clear through stats and should have been clear to the Josh Smith haters through just watching the game.
Did Mike Bibby even play in the Conference Semi-Finals? He was invisible after the first game . . .
He mentioned Mike Bibby's great free throw shooting (Josh Smith was good enough from the line also); but Bibby only took 3 shots from the line in the entire Conference Semi-Finals series. That is pathetic from a starting point guard.
Bibby had as many assists as he had turnovers in 2/4 of those Conference Semi-Finals games. Which would be exactly 1 assist. That is pathetic from a starting point guard.
I could go on, but it would be pointless because he has made up his mind regardless of the facts . . .
Ok, I am not a Josh Smith hater but he is not our best offensive player at all. In fact, I think all 4 of the other players on the court with him are better options. He hurts us bad when he takes deep jumpers right when we have momentum going and CLANK! He thinks he is a 3 point shooter which he should never shoot in his life. He takes so long to shoot a jumper and when a man runs after him airballs it. The man should only dunk, or shoot in the paint.
Mike Bibby is a proven vet. Yes, he didn't show up in the playoffs as much as expected but I credit that to tiredness from the season. That will change now with Crawford helping out (And hopefully Flip again).

This team signed Randolph Morris to a 2 year deal. And here we sit hoping they will sign a real player. Fat chance.
Hawk88
Morris is a complete joke!!!!
-
No, we shouldn't.
Agree...He is last option...
-
Mike Bibby is a proven vet that provides great leadership and clutch shooting. He clicks with our team so well and as been a huge factor in our playoff run. His numbers are good and he can still run. I think that he will improve even more this year because he now has Crawford that will get good minutes at the pg position and Bibby wouldn't be worn down or tired.
I love Marv and would do everything I can to resign him. He is still very young and showed me improvement this year with his outside shooting. His mid range jumper is beautiful to watch and he can drive a little bit as well. I think his numbers will continue to improve and I see his drving game increasing.
-
We need Bibby back. That is a must! Bibby is a core part of our team and great leader. He still puts up great numbers as well.
A 3 yr deal is not bad. He will be getting less minutes with Crawford in the game plan now so he can rest more than he has. His body will not be worn down.
I say if we can tag him for a 3yr $15-$21. Anything else is way too much. I mean $21 is really a lot.
If he can put up 14ppg and 4apg then I'm happy.
-
I honestly don't like any of those players. We need to go after that one big player who will make a huge impact! We should do a sign and trade deal of some sort.
-
I will take Nick Collison. But only after resigning Zaza and Amare not working out.
-
Situations like this is one of the main reasons I wanted to go for Amare if he was healthy. Right now we make moves like we are just happy to make the playoffs but we need to decide if we are in it to win it and proceed accordingly. Right now our moves say we are happy to be making the playoffs and just want to hold our position as long as we can .
Agree 100% I don't understand why we don't push to get Amare. Just amagine him working down low with either Smith or Horford!
-
Zaza is a great big man in this league. His hustle is hard to find in this league. With the amount of minutes that he plays he puts up fair numbers as well. We need to sign him back to a long term deal. I love you Zaza. I stick up for you all the time to my friends who know nothing and then they bite their words when you show up big in playoffs.
-
I would def take Drew Gooden. He can put up decent numbers. But again he is 6'10. I think the Hawks will wind up signing Zaza back. He wouldn't be asking for alot in my opinion. How about the Hawks grow a sack and go hard after either Amare or even somebody like Camby!
-
Not giving up what has been suggested to acquire him...even if it's feasible. No way.
I'm just saying were giving up nothing to get a strong presence down low...
J Chill is doing nothing for us...
Morris is joke
Draft pick is only key
-
Outlaw/Blake for Bibby do it Sund.
Won't happen...I like Bibby...lol...
-
As a Hawks freak I always say we have a chance at winning it all!
But in a true sense, prolly not...we would have to add that one more huge player...if we added someone like Amare then I would say yes yes yes...
-
Marcus Camby is a walking medical chart. No thanks.
I will take 70 games from him...I would take the chance...Averaged 10 ppg and 11 rpg last year...But him and Horford down low and thats tough post defense!
Do u rhink the hawks will get camby or kaman.

Camby is not near as weak when it comes to man on man d. He average 3.6 bpg when he was healthy. Josh averaged 1.6 Camby can rebound. 11 per. Can shoot his freethrows! 73%
