  1. Doncic is Larry Bird II,

Winner!  I think he's the no brainer choice.  Makes everyone better and takes a couple of years out of the rebuild process.  He actually fit the team well, he and John Collins running the pick and roll, that is something I want to see.

I have a 4 cm nodule on my left thyroid that is benign, but due to the size, it has to be removed because it is pressing on some stuff.  So, I'm having a subtotal thyroidectomy tomorrow.

While I'm recovering though, it will be good to watch these boys play in Omaha:

Best of luck with your surgery.  Enjoy your painkillers!

  3. The problem is we don't know Schlenk's overall plan is.  Who is he thinking about at the other pics to go with #3 and what are his plans at PG.

But over time I have heard him speak and he seems incredibly intelligent and seems to really know what he is doing. So I'm gong to trust that he will be able to figure out who are the real deals at the top.  As of now, I trust him.

I'd probably cry or drink myself to sleep if they get some Euro-trash player I never heard about to save $$$ or some go along to get along guy who hung up 10/6 but have tons of 'upside' and long arms with the 3rd pick. Nothing is guaranteed in the draft but for once, can we have a guy who at least tried to look the part of dominant against his peers instead one who looks like Tarzan but plays like Jane?

Looks like Tarzan plays like Jane.  Umm, that's what freaks me out about JJJ.  I don't see the mean streak.

Bagley is the superior prospect to either Bamba or JJJ. JJJ/Collins are two foul prone bigs...something I don’t like. Plus JJJ screams the next Noah Vonleh to me.

Bagley is a potential superstar but I’m starting to get worried he goes #2.

    JJJ=Vonleh

yeah way to close to me. And who wants to wait 3 years on JJJ.

  6. Interesting thought. If we took Bamba at #3.  Add a talent at #19 and I think our roster is comparable or better to the Cavs minus Lebron of course.  Would be interesting to see how far Lebron could take this group.  He signs with the Hawks and takes us to the finals.  Can't think of anything he could do better to establish his claim as GOAT.

I know it won't happen but it would be interesting.

  7. What an incredibly impressive young man.  Incredible physically with intelligence and maturity.  And the young man has a humility about him.  Listening to him and watching him reminds me of a young John Smoltz.  Maturity beyond his years combined with natural uncoachable athletic ability with extreme intelligence.  In the right system I have no doubt that Mo will be a big success.  Can he bring a title to a team that's never had one? I think it's possible.  He sure looks like he will be able to shoot.  So I think the offense will come, not a 20+ per night scorer but solid offensive numbers.  I'd be pretty happy if the Hawks take him at #3.  Big time asset to the city and he would bring an identity.  Surround Mo with a lot of lanky stretch types of defensive players.  Meshes with coach Pierce as well. Will need to add one big time scorer still.  Maybe next year.

  8. Really like his game.  I'd be open to moving up a few spots to get him.  Asset on offense and defense, combo guard.  Great shot, great defender, freaky long arms.  I think he goes around #14.

  9. Looking for a spot to trade up.  Should be a very nice player at Charlotte's spot.  I'd have my out out to see if they would take our #19 and #30 to move up.  Then we get two nice pieces in this draft and a developmental piece at #33. But #11 could be a real cherry spot.

I think you need a draft board to do this exercise.  I there is roughly a 5% chance Luke is available at 4.  I think Robert Williams goes in the lottery (or at least isn't on the board at 19), etc.  If you have a draft board then you can make your choice from the pool of players but there is a lot of variability in who people assume will still be around at these slots.

Agreed, how about using NBAdraft.net current mock for your board and repick.

If that’s the case then you just let Bud walk after his 2 years are up. No need to give into other teams demands when bud is still under contract.

a 2nd rd pick isn’t worth it. I rather keep bud for two more seasons (which is his contract)and try to work things out. But I certainly wouldn’t just trade bud for a meaningless 2nd rd pick cause of what has been put out publicly.

I agree with you but I don't think the Schlenk does.  He wants Bud gone so he can pick "his guy".  Sadly Schlenk isn't going to get what Bud is worth.  Just watch.

Man listen. If Schlenk trades Bud and does not get PHXs TOP pick, I probably will not support the Hawks until he’s fired. You don’t worry about what the OTHER team is willing to do. The only thing of value PHX has that’s even close to Bud is their top pick. If he flips Bud for anything less, Schlenk is more interested in “leaving his mark” than building a winning team.

Yep, its about Schlenk.  Can't get a better developmental coach than Bud, period.

I’m cool with a promise at 30th, not 19th. If Collins fell from Top 10 to 19th, hoping Robert Williams is still around at 19th this year.

Agreed, you never know who might fall to 19, we could get really lucky there, Collins fell last year.  So you could make him a 1st round promise so you keep your options open.  Nice having 3 first round picks.
