For all the hype that Michael Porter has gotten about his shooting and scoring ability, this guy was a 32% three point shooter on 87 attempts in the Nike EYBL league, and he was a 30% three point shooter on 20 attempts in the FIBA Americas. For a guy who doesn't have the handles to beat defenders off the dribble, that's not great. He's the Andrew Wiggins of this draft as he has been hyped up, but there is very little actual substance to the hype. He's closer to Harrison Barnes than he is Kevin Durant.
Agreed with all that. But i still think I prefer him to Trae Young.

Sound Logic and I agree but if Porter is KD, can you then move Price to the 2 guard position?
There are plenty of stretch center's in this draft so I am hesitant to use our first pick on one unless it's Ayton. There will probably 5-8 centers in this draft that can shoot. Will one of those be a better fit than a Bamba or Wendall Carter? So first pick if it's not Ayton/Doncic/Bagley I think you roll the dice with Porter if his back is positive. Then nap a wing/guard and a center.
Shooting/Passing Centers
These could be targets at 19 or 30
Jontay Porter
Moritz Wagner
Omari Spellman if he comes out
Yurtzseven if he comes out
And another 6-10 or so more traditional centers which could be targets at 33.

I still think that the team would suffer an unnecessary setback if the focus is to replace a position with a competent player already manning the position in Dennis versus focusing on positions with marginal players manning the position like the center position with a top 5 pick. And if Dedmon somehow isn't resigned then our Center position would be led by either a back up power forward in Muscala or An incompetent player in Miles Bumblee. The obvious focus should be to address the whole at the center position rather than point guard unless it doesn't make sense because of an unfavorable chose.
We need the Best Player Available without question. You start thinking like this and you wind up drafting a Sam Bowie over a Michael Jordan. Don't do it, draft the BPA, period.

There’s been speculation for a while that Trae is the target. ...honestly with all that’s been going on. I believe that is true now.
every rumor or speculation that has been mentioned seems like it’s going to come true. The bud one is shocking to me cause he’s a top 5 coach. If schlenk is willing to let Bud walk then Dennis is as good as gone...I strongly believe that.
It Trae Young is the target I will be following Bud to Phoenix. This team will truly suck. Trae Young is a chunker. I might even like Dorsey better than him.

So we pick no later than 7 in the upcoming draft?
Well there’s a good chance we get Mikal shall we fall! That’s not completely upsetting....to me anyways.
Or Sexton or Carter there are actually more developed players, just not as high a ceiling.

Can we get a draft pick for coach Bud?
-
I think they can get 3 players out of this draft. Stink next year for the 4th. Add those to Collins, Prince and move Schraeder for another piece. That's better that about half the piece of crap NBA teams.
-
Is Noah Vonleh really that bad of a contract at 4 million? I would not trade my number 9 pick to get rid of him, need to get something good back. I think a bad contract is over 10 million a year. 4 million is filler in this league.

This isn't the NFL draft. Not a lot of moving up and down with draft picks. In the NBA the talent drops off so quickly that moving 5 spots can be the difference of a productive guy and a total scrub. This draft looks fairly exceptional to me. Looks like a lot of talented guys all the way through the second round.
Denver needs a productive guy. So I would think pick 14 is available for somebody that could help them or if we take a salary and they can sign somebody it might work.
-
That looks like a good plan to me. I should have bet money on Phoenix last night. It was a no brainer Dallas was going to lose since it didn't hurt Phoenix to win. NBA is so sad.
-
I totally agree with this comment, they like somebody that isn't necessarily in the Top 3 right now, it's the only thing that makes sense.
But it was so stupid for the Hawks to be having so much fun with our starters beating the crap out of the Celtics scrubs. Literally made me sick to watch.
Love Coach Bud screwing us on his way out the door to Milwaukee. Damn drunk.
Pretty much looking for another team at this point. Such through a whole season to flush it away by winning meaningless games.

I'm watching highlights of this guy and I see a lot of hotdog, half trying. I guess he is going against pretty marginal players in most highlight but he doesn't look very quick to me. And he seems to walk around like he has a God Complex. Anyone else getting bad vibes from him?
-
Lock Dennis up, until the end of the season!
-
Why? WHHHHHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY?
So stupid winning this games. Wins are so damaging right now. Unless it creates trade value for Dennis.

This guy reminds me a lot of Klay Thompson, a better defender probably not quite as good a shooter. I guess if we get a top 3 pick we have to draft for best ceiling but if Mikal Bridges winds up being a player along the lines of Klay Thompson where do you think he should fall. Around 5? Bridges looks like he may not have a high enough ceiling but love his game. Helps you on both ends of the court.
Im really confused on Bagley, not sure where to put him. Duke players can really burn you. And in the NBA games are won on perimeter shooting now. That being said my rankings of the players for the Hawks are in this order.
1. Ayton
2. Doncic
3. Jaren Jackson
4. Bagley
5.Bamba
6. Bridges

Thats why we should have traded him. He is good.
-
We really need to move him, he isn't helping us tank.
We send him to the Sixers for Jonah Bolden instead of a 2nd round pick?
Thoughts?

I remember Tom McMillan, Hawes, Roundfield, Nique and Rivers and Tree. Hate Danny Biter Ainge.
I still think we are going to suck this year. I'm okay with it. I will be pulling for a top 5 pick.
But I'd still like to get a few exciting young guys in this draft.
BRING ON THE SUCK !
OR
ENDURE THE SUCK!

I think I would reach a little for DJ Wilson. 6-10 athletic can shoot the 3. We need everything so why not?
Also like Bam with Kentucky.
-
This guy looks like a real fit for us. We drafted Prince last year so for sure our coaches have noticed him. Athletic PF/C, super long with some offensive potential. What's not to like?
Take Juwan Evans at #19. Take Motley at #31. Take best available at #60.
Suck next year or two and get in the lottery, but we should be fun to watch.

Pick 1
I would take either Juwan Evans or Jordan Bell at 19. Police backup and eventual starter. Then at 31 either take a big that has fallen if you take Evans, or take one of the really good point guards/combo guards that can be there. Since the Hawks don't like to take really young potential players these guys will be able to help right away. And they Hawks have no fear of reaching. At 60 just take somebody with potential.
So we come out of the draft with
Jawan Evans/Big + Potential
Jordan Bell/ Point Guard + Potential
I want high energy motor guys.

Okogie, can do it all, really like this kid as well. Competitor. 19 seems high but to keep him in the draft you wonder if the Hawks would need to make him a promise. I'd be okay with it.
