He hardly jumps when he plays. Reminds me of high school girls basketball. The plays I watched he jumps 8 to 12 inches tops. I know his combine numbers but I don't see it on the court.

I have two questions regarding the Johnson trade. While it was a salary dump I am trying to figure out what we got that has value, in addition to the freed cap space.Does anyone expect anything positive from the players we received. Is Williams any good? Farmar as a backup, is he to be moved again?Also the draft pick we are receiving from Houston. They look to really suck next year. Damion Jones would have been a good replacement for Marvin. Damion Jones will be a very good NBA player. I'd rather have kept Damion Jones.

I am not sure why I did this but I made it a personel challenge to myself not bash Marvin for an entire season. Well, the season is over and Marvin SUCKS TO HIGH HEAVENS. What a waste having the big assed loaf on the court. As a back up I wouldn't mind but this guy being a starter is a travestly. All the top teams have better small forwards than Marvin. And I'm not sure how he does it but he keeps getting more uncoordinated every year. Next year he may not be able to run up and down the court without tripping over himself. It's outrageous. And the size of his butt, does he have some kind of disease where it just gets bigger and bigger. I don't know if I can watch him anymore. Seriously, for me its that bad. And the look on his face, what's with that?

I thought this thread was going to be about what happen to Josh Smith and Dwight Howard friendship. Those two don't seem to be a on good terms of late. I think Smoove see Howard has change and change for the worst since coming into the league. Howard used to be a guy I was proud to say was from Atlanta. I don't feel that way anymore. He just a big douchebag now.

From everything I have seen Dwight Howard is as classy as anyone in the league. I might have to put Lebron above him because I really like Lebron from what I can tell as a person but I'd be thrilled if I raised a son with as much class as Dwight Howard.

I have been a critic of Josh Smith over the last few years, but I genuinely commend him on the improvement he has shown this year. If he continues to play like he has over the last few games, he may well receive all-star consideration.

Some folks were to hard on Josh early in the year. Criticizing him taking shots just inside the 3 line. Give me a break. That being said, don't get too excited. I seriiously doubt Josh will ever develop the consistency that we all want. I just think he is a very emotional player and is going to have great streaks and bad ones. I didn't criticize him early and I'm not going to vote him an all-star until he shows the consistency required of an all star. But for now he deserves Kudos. He is playing a lot smarter.

I am seeing the numbers and they are blowing me away. I have not seen him in action yet. How is it he didn't do much of anything in Europe but is setting rookie scoring records in the NBA? How good is this kid going to be?

I dont know why Smoove cannot play well on the road? Immatureity? Not having family and friends around watching you? But he has been a totally different player on the road his whole career.

I would bet that over 80% of his dunks are at home. If the Hawks are to become a better raod team, it has to start with the biggest cause of this problem.......Josh.

I am done with Smith. He will NEVER be the player we all want him to be. WHEN do you see Horford or Zaza taking wild jump shots? Answer.....NEVER! Why can't Smith do the same?

Stats say he hasn't shot a single 3 pointer yet so I don't see how you can be complaining. That has to be a big improvement.

My slogan for this year would be "All Grown Up" since I think this might be the year that all these young guys show maturity and confidence and make a significant showing.

With this roster I don't think it would be all that tough to upgrade at the coaching position. I think Woody will have a shorter leash now that there are not any real personnel excuses. There is enough there to stay at number 4 in the east and at least be semicompetitive with the other 3. We aren't there yet but shouldn't lose 4 straight in a 4 game series.

I wonder if Woody feels the pressure yet.

I have to say, assuming the "news" about Joe Smith signing and JJ signing an extension are true, I am really impressed with the offseason Rick Sund has put together. At this point, I think the blue-print going forward is to see how much better this team can get by:

A) natural growth and maturity (we are still really young - players like Al, Smoove, and Marvin should continue to get better just by growing up) and...

B) hiring a competent (and preferably proven) NBA head coach, after Woody's contract expires of course

So, we monitor A and hopefully go ahead with B and see where that gets us. When it's clear the team as constructed has reached its limit, then we explore trade options to try to make the leap into the true "championship contender" category. I haven't seen anything from Sund that would preclude us from taking this exact path, and that excites me very much.

Things are much better in Hawk-land these days than they had been in quite some time. Hard not to be pleased.

Vick can step in at QB only if McNabb gets injured or totally collapses... or can learn the ropes at WR or Special Teams. Can spend all season holding a clipboard and reading the playbook in the worst case.

Vick is a low risk alright. If he is your QB you have very little risk of winning big games. Sad to say but Vick is done as a leading qb. He can run the wildcat but you cannot depend on him as a starting qb. He is a punk who deserves a second chance but will still be a punk.

Falcons must re-sign Roddy White now and go after a dynamic slot option for a third receiver. We have no speed in the receiving core after Roddy and we are limited with down-field receivers after losing Douglas.

I was feeling that Douglas would have a breakout season this year, but I'm just hoping he recovers just fine. Torn ACLs are hard to recover, especially as a receiver.

Man, I was thinking he was going to explode as well. Bad news.
