Idea,
I thought Sacramento needs a PG.
If Jaylen Brown is available at #8 we send Teague and #21 for the #8 pick and take Brown.

I curious as to whether folks think Bud would rather trade Teague or Schröder?
-
I'm curious if you guys think we should be trying to trade Teague or Schröder? Seems to me that Schröder has more potential but does he fit our system? I would think you could get more for Schröder. And we need rebounding badly so I'm not sure how you fill it. Does everyone think we should be trading Teague since I see trade Teague ideas.
What about Teague and a No. Draft pick for Lopez from Brooklyn?

I believe he totally shut down Deangelo Russell with Ohio State in the tournament. When you have a guy that can shut down a star, I think that is worth a lot. The playoffs is all about defense.

Is there anybody we could draft that can help us slow down Lebron. I guess nobody can gurd him but at least slow him down. Maybe Hollis? Anyone else?

I was worried there for a second ;)
Seriously? Am i missing something. He made Josh Smith look good. Amtic gave the Pacers sreries away all by himself. One clunker after amother after another. The bonehead never figured out spwhy he was open, necause HE SUCKED!!!!!!!!!

I like this roster. Good for one sucky year. But still might be fun to watch.Hawk88That was the last one I saw, I haven't updated it, but the point being this roster is far from being full and far from having what it needs.

Brand is one of the signings. This other signing is probably a filler type player. Not enough money for much else. I hope they keep Bebe. If they playnhim enough we can make the Lottery. Of course his confidence will be shattered. I think Bebe goes back to EuropeHawk88

I'm confused to why he only gets bigger if he stays here. Is it because he will be just sitting on the bench? Or is it because almost everybody is fat in this country?Hawk88http://www.ajc.com/weblogs/atlanta-hawks/2013/jul/18/hawks-face-dilemma-nogueira/ I really like BeBe's maturity on the whole matter. But at the end of the article he admits he can improve his game in Spain, but if he goes there he will not get any bigger. Sounds like we should keep him here.

Maybe we can bring back Kevin Willis if we are going old, creaky and stiff. Hello Mr. Wiggins!Hawk88

This roster has almost zero chance of advancing in the playoffs. We would need like 3 guys to get hurt to miss the playoffs. Think the NBA needs to do something about taking the tanking strategy away from teams to land the big star? I think it really hurts the integrity of the game. Reward the teams for stinking it up? There is going to be some serious stink this year.Hawk88Josh Smith will either look like a fool or Millsap a superstar if this roster of the Hawks advances past the 2nd round. If it doesn't, we are the same middle of the pack team that we were last season. No lottery pick, no advancing in the playoffs. YEAH!

My guess we might have been trying to get Jennings or Mo Williams at a reasonable price/reasonable length contract and it didn't work out so we kept Teague since he's good enough for the time being and we'll trade him with a couple years left on his contract. Otherwise, why wouldn't we have known whether or not we wanted to match immediately? Why would we have been waiting for two days?
One reason you don't match is to make the other team wait while you negotiate with others players to get the best player at the best price you can.And if we didn't match it would be untrue we get back nothing in return. We get the leaving players salary which we can spend in somebody else. Under a team salary cap structure that is something important. There is a reason teams trade for players with expiring contracts.I hope this works. I don't think Teague at 8 million is bad. Would have been better at 6 million. I wonder what and if we offered Jennings or Mo Williams.Hawk88My guess we might have been trying to get Jennings or Mo Williams at a reasonable price/reasonable length contract and it didn't work out so we kept Teague since he's good enough for the time being and we'll trade him with a couple years left on his contract. Atlanta Falcon fans seem pretty strong. Of course they in. And they are an organization that gets the Free Agents of their choice.Hawk88Falcons win, sorry.Problem number one, Atlanta doesn't love Atlanta. We are fickle, we are separated. Part of the dislike is racist another part is indifference (just here to make money). The sprawling burbs have their local loyalties with much not care of anything inside I285. Splash this on a highly transient, transplant population.

If Teague were a hot commodity Ferry would have done a sign and trade but he is not. He is average. Nobody wants average. Not for 8 million. Only Larry drew wants him. Teague maybe is better than Jennings and Ellis.Hawk88

Ding Ding Ding, you nailed it.Jennings can be had for cheap now because we are pretty much the only team left that has cap room and a need for a PG. I would rather sign Jennings to a cheap two year deal and give Schröder time to develop than invest 32 million in Teague. Teague is a good player, and he was one of my favorites for his first two years on the Hawks, but his lack of effort and passion has gotten old. On some nights, its like his body is on the court but his mind is elsewhere and this is unacceptable. His lack of effort on defending the pick and roll is bad as well. With Jennings, he may lose us some games by chucking when he is cold but atleast he will be aggressive on a nightly basis.

I doubt Ferry will go out for four years on Teague. It's not the annual cost but the length of the contract.Hawk88

I mistyped. Teague will get you to the playoffs, just not far.Playing the Mo Williams chip will lower the price for Jennings. Mo Williams also let's us move Schröder into the lineup as quickly as possible.I don't see Teague, Jennings or Ellis leading a team to a championship. Teague is good, I just don't think he is good enough to get you to the playoffs. I'm just not to sure how far he can get you. We have to hope Schröder will be the answer in 3-4 years.Hawk88

I like the moves we are making. If we tank we want to get back to respectability quickly. Avoid long bad contracts and guys with attitude. With two year contracts it gives you time to develop the young guys, like Bebe. This team looks borderline playoffs. But if we lose Teague we could get bad pretty quickly. Anyone know if we still have cap room to sign and trade Jsmith at this point?I like what we have done so far. Nothing stupid.Hawk88Interesting approach to tanking. I'm open to hearing more...

I agree with this assessment. Pick up a couple of potential starters and play young. Maybe you suck, maybe not. But add some guys with potential. Maybe get another draft pick. Play Schröder, a lot.if everyone is looking to tank, the other option is to cherry pick value free agents, get someone decent for smoove while enabling the howard acquisition, and play for the future. I'd think the team needs a top SF.
-
Rockets get Howard and we sign and trade Smith for Omar Asik. Win, win for both teams
-
Brewer would give us a good chance for a high lottery pick next year.
-
I am for signing a FA center instead of drafting one at 17 or 18. I can't decide if we should be just be drafting young talent and sucking it up for next years draft.Gorgui Dieng and Steven Adams.Al really wants to play PF.
Harrison Bsrnes for #12 an #21 Sign and trade?
