  1. mAYBE LD ought to bring in Hall of Famer Charles Barkley to talk to Josh.... Charles is a Hall of fame PF. Maybe he would listen to the guy who helped revolutionize the position.

Drew doesn't even need to do that. All he needs to do is show Josh the segment on TNT when Barkley put on a crash test dummy helmet to describe Smith and his love for taking long jumpshots. However, that still probably won't get through to Smith. He seems to think that he's smarter than everybody else, and everybody else is wrong. He has this silly notion of not wanting to be known as "just a dunker."

  2. There it is really. Won a first round series against a higher seed no less in less than 7 games and has the first second round win in what, 15 tries? Woody will always have his regular season wins though.

LOL. That was pretty good one. ---- "We improved in wins every year." --- I got so sick of hearing that garbage. Mike Woodson was not a coach for the playoffs. He just isn't smart enough.

  3. We dont have to start Collins we can start Zaza and that gives us someone active who wants to be in the paint .

Start Zaza against Noah this gives Al a matchup against Boozer who is hurting and josh now has a matchup against Deng who really is not used to playing post players . In other words give the Bulls something they havent seen and get bigger in the lane . This also allows for better more effective screening across the board for both JJ and Teague

The Bulls play Kurt Thomas at backup center when he comes into the game we now move Al to center and we go the high pick and role instead of trying to have Al post up one on one a great post defender.

When Marvin comes in off the bench he is matched up against Deng who played 40+ mpg in the last series the Bulls backup SF is basically Ronnie Brewer or Korver who Marvin both have advantages against in the post .

LOL. Since when is Josh Smith a post player??? He thinks he's a 3-point assassin. Deng will have the easiest defensive assignment of his life. Unless something happens to make Josh Smith angry, all he is gonna do is stand around at the 3-point line hoping that somebody passes him the ball so he can prove to the world that he's one of the best shooters in the league.

  4. and I would tell the team to give Marvin the ball on every possession and have him drive the ball directly at Dwight Howard and try and get fouled. There's about a 2% chance that he'll he get an and-one and he'll probably lose the ball a couple of times and maybe get an offensive foul call or two but I'd bet he'll draw 2 fouls on Dwight that way. Then Dwight goes out and we can look to get our regular offense going. :scratchhead:

You forgot to mention that Marvin would probably get the ball stripped from him several times too.

  5. There is no longer any justification for Larry Drew to not give Teague consistent minutes. If it were up to Woodson and Larry Drew, Rajon Rondo would still be riding the bench if he played here and we'd all be wondering if Rondo belonged in the league. These guys are confidence killers for young players. They let veterans screw up left and right and give the young players the quick hook or a DNP-CD for making a couple of mistakes. I can't stand our coaching staff any more. You don't develop young talent by not letting them play and crushing their confidence.

  6. If you can't trade JJ just sit him next season and start dropping games to get back in the lottery.

Unfortunately, that just might be the best thing that the Hawks could do to get out of this mess that they're currently in. Unless Dwight Howard desperately wants to come back to Atlanta and play, I see no hope for this team. Its most talented player, Josh Smith, is a delusional fool, and its highest paid player doesn't have the guts/intelligence/attitude/drive to do what it takes to win. I have completely given up on the Hawks. I've never seen a team that refuses to stick with what works. They'd rather lose doing what they want instead of winning by doing what they might not necessarily want to do.

  7. As I looked at Josh Smith's shot tonight, it appears to me that he has changed his shooting motion slightly. It seems like he used to pull the ball way back behind his head and then launch it like a catapult. Now, it seems as if he's not cocking the ball back as far, and this has seemed to help his stroke this season. Has he changed his shooting motion, or am I just imagining things?

  8. Teague and Josh should take a cane lash for every 3-point attempt.

I'm not mad at the starters resting, though. We needed to prove a liitle something to the Heat, Bobcats not so much.

I disagree!!!! The Bobcats OWN us. It seems like we NEVER beat the Bobcats. I think I've been to 4 games where the Hawks played the Bobcats, and the Bobcats won every time. I'm SICK of losing to the Bobcats!!

  9. I'm sorry but you don't single out one guy. Esp seeing that Joe wasn't trying to go into a slump. It happens! Just bad timing for Joe that it happened in the playoffs. I was pissed for a sec but after thinking about the entire season my perspective changed. Now I'm thankful that Joe gave me an excellent regular season. Yep 53 wins where he often was the best player on the floor.

Joe singled himself out when he made those stupid remarks about not caring one way or the other if the fans show up. The team was getting booed for a terrible performance. Joe should have either acknowledged that the team deserved to be booed or he should have just kept his mouth shut.

  10. The Hawks can resign him. Yes, Chicago and Miami have cleared out room. However the Hawks have the benefit of offering a 6th year on his contract and 10% higher contract.

Yes, Joe Johnson will sign an 100 million dollar contract over 6 years if he resigns with Atlanta. Are you comfortable with that?

Joe isn't a marketable guy. He doesn't have alot of endoresement deals, therefore he's not going to walk away from 10+ million and an extra year. The Hawks can and will resign him if they exercise their bird rights and offer him a "MAX" deal.

My question to the Squawk are you comfortable with offering Joe Johnson that contract?

I guess it's better to have Joe Johnson than to lose him for nothing. However, he's not worth a max contract. Joe Johnson isn't a player that's going to get you over the hump, and he's not a player that's going to bring fans to the game. If Johnson is signed to a max contract, I have a feeling that the Hawks will end up regretting it.

  11. :slap1:

    You decide.

1- Woodson was open minded, asked for and recieved a lot of good advice from his assistant coaches.

2- Bull headed and stubborn. It's my way or no way. I'm the boss. I'll play who I want to play - for as many

minutes as I want them to play and I'll play favorites with the roster. I'll have my dog house for those I choose

to have in it. No one else will have any say about what or how I do things.

You decide which best describes our former head coach.

I'd have to choose option #2. I remember Woody saying something about how his staff wanted him to play his bench more and how he decided to do what he wanted instead.

  12. The last person I want to see hired is Casey. From everything I've read, it seems as if he's another Mike Woodson. It sounds as if he just focuses on defense and doesn't focus too much on the offensive end. I absolutely do not want another coach that is not a good offensive coach. I want a coach that cares about both aspects of the game. I want him to be very good on offense and at least decent with defense.

  13. Damn I meant Jeff VAn Gundy

I don't want Jeff Van Gundy anywhere near this team. He thinks that Woodson did a good job and said that the Hawks just maxed out with their talent. If he's not smart enough to realize that Woodson maxed out as a coach and that he didn't get the max from this team, then he's not smart enough to be the head coach of this team.

  14. couldnt agree more with this post. If the cavs cant win running a similar offense like ours (isoloation every play) then we suely can win with that offense come post season. We NEED a new COACH! i like woody myself but he has taken us as far as he can with his strategy!

Well, it appears that our prayers have been answered!!!!! :thumbsupsmileyanim:
