  1. What I mean is he won't be the best player on the court (or, at least, he shouldn't be). I think Trae would be an awesome compliment to the "face of the team", whoever that may be. Bamba wouldn't have been either but we would have had a defensive presence there for years. Maybe even an identity like when we had Mutombo.
  2. I was on the Bamba train. We had a great chance to secure a center that isn't seen often. I didn't think Doncic would be quick enough to get past NBA defenders. He's too big at 6'8 and slow so I figure they'd move him to the 3. We have Prince. My view of Trae Young is that he's not the lead dog and that's fine but he has a deadly skill that I thought was worth the pick. Perhaps we'll get that alpha scoring dog in next year's draft. Overall I'm cool with the draft and have no complaints really except Bamba. If he busts I'll feel much better.
  3. Actually, Atlanta fans aren't bandwagon fans AT ALL. Everyone is absolutely right when they say the fans didn't support the team through the last few years. However, the team and ownership never really gave Atlanta anything to cheer for and seemingly made boneheaded decisions. But the team finally accomplished something by making the playoffs. But even then, our Hawks went up to Boston and looked PATHETIC and our addition of Bibby seemed futile. But what happened? The Hawks came home to be finished off by the Celtics and Phillips Arena WAS PACKED. How can you call that bandwagon? The fans came out to SUPPORT THE 0-2 HAWKS BECAUSE THEY ACCOMPLISHED SOMETHING...THEY MADE THE PLAYOFFS AND THE FANS CAME OUT AND SHOWED THEM WHAT WINNING CAN BE ALL ABOUT. This whole season, and the previous 3, were about laying the pipework and electrical wiring, AND THE FANS FLIPPED THE SWITCH. I think our fans are awesome.
  4. Hell to the naw...why would we do that? I like our team.
  5. Billy Knight has done a great job with this team. No one knows how players will develop in the league. One of the greatest QB's in NFL history was chosen in the 7th round. Teams get lucky. To suggest firing Billy Knight when our team is full of guys we can root for and have fun doing it, and trade guys who are damn good basketball players is outrageous. I look forward to watching them now as opposed to the last few several years. That wasn't a typo. The best part...WE'RE MOVING UP IN THE STANDINGS...LIKE A SPEEDING BULLET...UNNOTICED. But here you are, harping on who we didn't pick. So let's fire our GM and Coach. Brilliant.
