  1. LD, like Woody, is coaching a flawed team. A point guard that can't penetrate and bigs that can't get points in the paint usually puts you in lottery territory. That is unless you are a relentless defensive team – of which the hawks are not. He tries to get them to run and penetrate but they just don’t, won’t, or can’t. Maybe that will change with Capt Kirk out and Teague getting more minutes. Look at the adjustments Woody made against Orlando as example. Last year we were committed to putting Al on Dwight, doubling in the post, and switching Al on the point guard on every pick and roll. We don’t do that dumbness anymore. The byproduct is Josh at the three where he nearly killed us with his perimeter play. If LD learns the lesson that Josh can’t play 3, even with the Big Line-up, then he truly will impress me as a coach. Josh is a 4, with or without Al, that should be clear enough to everyone including LD.
  2. That is exactly what you want to see!
  3. I think that you have to look at it that way if we are going to have a good season. Joe needs to embrace LD's new offense, without that we are back to where we were last year. Plus, Al continues to become an offensive threat inside and developes a couple of more moves a la Boozer. Josh finally realizes his strengths are defense and rebounding. We were very healthy last year and we will need the same this year. Oh and we will need LeBron and D-Wade to both bring guns to their locker and fight it out over a bet.
  4. I don't think Chills wants to risk coming back to Atlanta at all. His agent will be looking for a sing and trade gurantee. Sund isn't Knight.
  5. Maybe we can get our hands on Robin Lopez
  6. http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=5372405 The Phoenix Suns will make an offer to restricted free agent Josh Childress, a league source said, providing the former Hawks swingman an avenue back to the NBA after spending the last two seasons in Greece. The move is intriguing because Childress fired Lon Babby as his agent and Babby is being considered as the Suns' next GM. Exact terms of the offer sheet were not available.
  7. Excpet that he takes initiative where Marvin waits. I don't hate Marvin - he is a good small forward but someone just moved our cheese down in Miami. We have to either get into this arms race or get out. Standing still will get us run over.
  8. Monta isn't a PG and JT needs to proove himself. I picked Mo because he has done it with and with out LeBrenda.
  9. Marvin's talents on both sides of the ball are found in most Small Forwards. He does nothing particularly well / or bad that can't be found on most rosters. Jamario Moon or Matt Barnes are good examples.
  10. Mo for Marvin Straight Up would be a tremendous upgrade then Jamal for Chandler. Sign Barnes to the MLE for a back up plan if Josh to the 3 doesn't work out. Mo / JT / Bibby JJ / Evans / JC Josh / Barnes Al Chandler / ZaZa We have enough flexibility with Bibby to move him or Chill for a back up PF and the MLE. That line up gives our Big Three the complimentary pieces to compete with the Big Three in Miami and Boston. fwiw i hate Mo Williams as a hot dogging coat-tail riding tool bag - but he would be a nice addition to our line up.
  11. Crawford for Chandler would get us the help Al is looking for.
  12. If we are honest - the question isn't should Crawford start over Marvin - it is should he start over Bibby. If we are having the best five argument - it begins with who brings more to the table as the last piece - Marvin or Bibby. Marvin clearly has more to bring to the table on defense, rebounding, and another option on the break.
  13. Does anyone remember the “lean years?” Does anyone remember why we were able to draft Marv at 2, Childress at 6, Sheldon at 5, and Al at 3? Because we sucked – and watching suck basketball sucks. If we get rid of Joe we will suck again. Pay him whatever he wants and let’s keep the train rolling. Who here on this board get’s a percentage of what we come under the cap with? Sund has proven competent enough that he can move contracts – including Joe’s if he starts to show wear and tear – in THREE YEARS!!!!
