  1. Quote: Beak Head (Atlanta): Is there any logical reason for Rick Sund to give Mike Woodson a contract extension (other than he once hired Bob Weiss)? SportsNation John Hollinger: (3:14 PM ET ) Can't really think of one. But the owners appear to be big Woodson fans and that may save him. Quote: nick(brooklyn , ny): How does boston go to 7 games with atlanta whos is very young and weak, 7 games agianst Lebron and 11 scrubs and then really outplay detroit and outplay lakers. How is it possible to get outplayed by two worse teams and play better than two teams who are possible better than they are? SportsNation Will Perdue: (4:26 PM ET ) That's a tough explanation. No one expected Atlanta to win a game against the Celtics. But that's when you talk about confidence being contagious. You saw that with the Hawks and the Cavaliers. But I also think that Boston has done a much better job defensively against the Lakers than against the Hawks or Cavaliers. Quote: Alec (Birmingham, Alabama): Buzz, do you see the Hawks making a coaching move with Avery Johnson and Flip Saunders out their? SportsNation Buzzmaster: (5:36 PM ET ) Hmmm. That's an interesting idea. Though they did make it to the playoffs this season without those guys.
  2. Dude, everone will have the same answers! Rocky, JJ, and home playoff games.
  3. Dol, kinda hypocritical considering your avatar, no? Anyways, I'm not for it or against it but it should be for the individual to determine what is work-safe. Didn't sound like porn anyways, but sometimes better safe than fired.
  4. Which players would you pick if you had to take a team to the Finals using no 2008 All-Stars? Give me your top eight-nine players and see what kind of a team you can make.
  5. Was it just me, or did anyone else notice Kobe during his interview last night very obviously fly the bird at the camera?
  6. Yeah you're right but what I'm trying to say is I wasn't real surprised and it certainly wasn't a good nominee for play of the year! Anyways, how can you hate Tennessee basketball? Chris Lofton may be the best shooter I've ever seen.
  7. Diesel those were both insane! I love Al's reaction to the first one. Atlas, I see your point; but check this out: That was absolutely superhuman. This shot was unreal also- I personally prefer the first but you see what I'm talking about. Any tips on posting vids in the post?
  8. LOL DJ its hard to blow the roof off of Philips when there is no one there! Plus, while a phenonomal shot, it wasn't that uncommon, especially in the college ranks, guys take and make those regularly-i.e. Chris Lofton, JJ Redick, etc. Anyways, great great shot but not play of the year. For true play of the year I'm thinking regular season would probably be Bibby's three against Toronto, right? That was crazy! Playoffs probably JJ's game four trey or game six's shot with a minute left.

    Jermiane Oneal.

That doesn't really sound fair for Indy. I mean, we get their best player, point guard, and lottery pick for Mike Bibby. That sounds like highway robbery. I'd do it in a NY minute but Indiana gets nothing at all really. Throw in Marvin!
  10. I didn't watch many games this year as I have no satellite and am in Tennessee, but one I was digging was the Bibby no look to Chills in the playoffs and he laid a facial on someon.
  11. He looks like he would do a better job than Woody.
  12. Forgot about Big Al Squared. (He has to be AL two after Horf!) Smoove is better than Martin. I was just looking at his stats from Game 4-28/8 boards/7 blocks/two steals.
  13. The point is that Smoove has all the skills and athleticism in the world and probably alot of BBIQ, the problem is there is no application at all. He plays recklessly, that is the only problem I see. Occasional lack of effort, yes, but it is not that load of crap that he is skilless. OK, question for all you Smoove-haters. Is he or is he not the second best player in his draft class behind, obviously, Dwight Howard?
  14. Sorry man, but thats BS. Players with no skills aren't in the NBA. Point blank. DPOY candidates have skills. This is a ridiculous argument.
  15. No skills? Players with no skills are in church leagues, my friend. Smoove has big time skills. Players with no skills don't get DPOY votes, rank high in stat categories and win dunk contests. Last time I checked, players with no skills also don't get drafted. Your theory holds no water.
  16. Quote: You can only mention 3 players that match that criteria with Smoove Exactly-no one does as much as well as Smoove. I don't think assists, blocks, points, boards, and steals is a narrow criteria; the point is no one can come close to matching this productivity. Quote: But with all of these criteria, really really great players show up. Duh! Thats the point. Thank you. Edit- On Basketball-Reference, top results show MJ, the Mailman, Kareem, The Admiral, Shaq, Hakeem, etc. Ridiculous.
  17. I coulda told ya that! He will turn out to be better than JJ. Just reel in that 3 pointer. Heck he averaged 17/8/3/3/1 this year. Next year I see 19/10. I challenge someone to find me five players that have those stats. Especially at 22.
  18. Miami is who I am concerned with. Wade, Beasley, Marion, Williams, and FA C- that team makes the playoffs if healthy. Not real concerned with the 'Cats because they truly have no go-to guy. Orlando, however, does. Howard is a top-tier player in the NBA, not to mention Lewis, Turkoglu and Nelson. Orlando ascends to the 2 seed, at least, next year. Write it down. I agree, though, we should go for a big player if we can ship any combo of Bibby/Marv/Zaza/Speedy. I'm gaining a rep as a Smoove-kisser so I won't say anything about not trading him . However, I can't really think of anybody worth going after in our price/package range. Any thoughts?
  19. Thx Eazy, the point was B-Diddy and J-O, not Dunleavy.
  20. And at the end of the guys, its just basketball. There are many more important things. Sure its awesome and we love it but it ain't everything. We all love the Hawks, but its like politics. If you're gonna converse you gotta agree to disagree.
  21. OK, here goes. Tell me what you think and any better ideas. this works on ESPN. Indiana gets- Biedrins, Pietrus, Zaza Warriors get- O'Neal, Bibby, Marvin Williams We get-Baron Davis, Mike Dunleavy Jr. What think ye?
  22. If the Heat do this trade they are mentally ill. This would be about equal to Clay Bennett moving the Sonics. If I were a Miami fan I would boycott all things Heat. I mean, come on! Wade is a top five talent, chance to be one of the greatest SGs ever and they would dump him for the no. 1 pick? Unless the dr. thinks he should retire this is asinine. Miami's lineup could be Williams Wade Marion Beasley FA? Thats not that bad at all. In fact, its pretty good depending on the C.
  23. OK, then, Kobe, hands down. He could play any sport at any level. However, I'm pretty sure Smoove can jump higher even if they were both 6'6.
  24. Just the fact that we are talking 'bout Smoove in this thread is proof he needs keeping I think its pretty much a toss-up across the board and "athletically" has a broad meaning. Hops, its Smoove, strength goes to Howard, and speed and etc. goes to Kobe and LBJ. Refine the poll, dude.
