  1. Quote: No disrespect but Lindsey Hunter??? Didn't he retire two years ago? yea, he would be in same mold as Zo or Deke, come in for few mins per game, and for helping lead these guys. Maybe if injuries or foul trouble they could play extended minutes.
  2. Quote: I wonder if we could get Dikembe. I would love to get him back, but I thought I had read some where that it was pretty much a lock he was going to re-sign in Houston. If he would consider it, add him to the list as well.
  3. my wishes for additions to the team are similar to what Joe was speaking about after the playoff series. It really would help this team alot to get some veteran presence on the roster. I dont know if the $ could work, but looking at some players who are strictly free agents that I would like to see 1-3 of them picked up, in addition to the apparent signing of David Anderson- Rather than bringing in another backup pg, I think Acie will play a bigger role for the team next season as the backup 1, almost splitting time w/ Bibby. However, if a pg was signed Juan Dixon or Lindsey Hunter would be top choices, they should be fairly inexpensive, and both have been on winning teams in the past. If Dixon then JJ or Chil(hopefully re-signed) would more than likely bring the ball up. I think that w/ Law playing more as well as Bibby, JJ and JC having the ability to handle the ball well vs pressure that a backup 2/3 maybe small 4 type player would be more likely. Micheal Finley, James Posey(top choice, but he has a player option), Matt Barnes, and Jarvis Hayes would be good additions. My criteria for the position would again be a solid vet from a winning team, play solid defense-Posey in particular, and can shoot well from outside to help balance the floor better. Hayes is not the defender that the other 3 are, but if given a chance for more pt I think he could be a boost off the bench, as well as coming back closer to home. Now, despite bringing Anderson over, I would still bring in another solid big man. Preferably a strong defensive presence, and veteran leader. My top choice would be Kurt Thomas. He wont come in and kill you offensively(like Diop), my other choice would depend on his health and desire to still play, but if we could bring in Zo I think just guys seeing how hard he plays the game would be a big influence. If we have Al and Anderson and Z already in a rotation, Zo would not have to be counted on for huge minutes, so as not to tire him out at his age. Other options could be Francisco Elson, Diop-prolly too pricey and not strong offensive skill set. Also, Najera would be a great pickup, but I think he could be a little more costly for the team. I know chances are slim that we do much more than re-sign Josh Smith and Childress, which I would like to see, but to get to that next step, the team needs someone to look to which was all too evident in Boston. However, I would much rather be going into an offseason after playoffs and trying to figure out how to advance farther, than trying to figure out how to even sniff the playoffs like we have had to endure these past few seasons. GO HAWKS!!!
  4. Quote: Quote: also, if Ford would have fould Bibby at 3.8 instead of standing there watching him shoot the 3 highly unlikely we win the game that way either. I was shocked he gave him such an open look. He should have fouled, but that was NOT an open look. He he had a guy in his face, and he was FADING AWAY. That was an amazing shot. w/ the game on the line and less then 5 seconds left, it wasnt a gimme, but ford didnt exactly do any more than just get a hand up after Bibby waited for him to go by the first time. Great shot, but Bibby can make that shot more often than not w/o the pressure up on him.

  6. Quote: If the Raptors hadn't blown a 17 point lead, this wouldn't be an issue. ding ding ding, we have a winner! Ball was in his hands, tip of his fingers, but still in his hands at 0.0, red light on and everything. The clock is said to be controlled by the refs, not ATL officials. The refs looked at it for a while, and said no basket. No reason for an overturn of this one.
  7. has never really put it together so to speak. Seems to get hurt some, but if we could get him for a 6th or 7th maybe I would do it. Hell, Buffalo already has Trent Edwards, and most teams would prolly just wait for him to be released, at least this way they could get something for him. Maybe Joey wont be on the roster come fall. lol
  8. unsportsmanlike? must be talking about 2 different things, coaches will tell you to get a hand in his face, I missed the game they are talking about, but if you jump and get your hand in front of the shooter, good chance to distract him and not get a foul called on you, especially if it is Kobe
  9. whoa, not for that much, unless MAYBE we get Jake Long at 3. I would trade Jenkins and 1 of the 2nds I suppose.
  10. AJC now saying Hall and Oak came to an agreement. Quote: Hall close to finalizing deal with Raiders Two-time Pro Bowl CB to sign contract with Oakland Thursday By STEVE WYCHE The Atlanta Journal-Constitution Published on: 03/18/08 Falcons two-time Pro Bowl cornerback DeAngelo Hall told the AJC Tuesday that he will finalize a contract with Oakland by Thursday morning and that a trade between Atlanta and the Raiders will be consummated shortly thereafter. Hall said he is scheduled to fly to Oakland Wednesday to meet with team officials and sign a new contract. "There is just some tweaking of the language that needs to be done, some minor details," Hall said of contract negotiations. "No deal breakers." Atlanta will receive Oakland's second- and sixth-round picks in the April 26-27 NFL draft. The compensation will give the Falcons four selections in the first 48 picks of the draft — three in the second round. Atlanta holds the No. 3 overall pick along with the 36th and 48th picks. Once the trade is completed, the Falcons would add the 34th overall selection currently held by Oakland. I bet it has something to do w/ this, yea SURE KCarter had a "change of heart", more likely Al Davis said "Kevin, it's not you it's me, but we can still be friends." LOL Quote: Reports: Carter chooses Bucs over Raiders ESPN.com news services Defensive end Kevin Carter has reportedly decided to re-sign with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers rather than sign with the Oakland Raiders. The Tampa Tribune and St. Petersburg Times are reporting that Carter agreed to a one-year deal to return to Tampa Bay, spurning a two-year offer from Oakland. He reportedly will make less than what he was paid last year before the Bucs cut him last month in a salary cap move to avoid paying a roster bonus. "It was big money he turned down, but he went with his heart rather than the pocket," Carter's agent, Harold Lewis, told the Tampa Tribune. "A lot of people would have taken the wallet. Taken more money and the guarantees to go to another city. Kevin has been playing for a long time, he's 34 years old, saved a lot of money and found a place he and his family would like to call home for the next 34 years." The Tampa Tribune reported that Carter will compete for the starting spot at left defensive end with Greg White and the newly acquired Marques Douglas. "In the end, he realized he's never been happier playing football," Lewis told the St. Petersburg Times. Carter had 73 tackles, three sacks, a forced fumble and fumble recovery in his first season with the Buccaneers. He has played in every game during his 13-year NFL career with Tampa Bay, Miami, Tennessee and St. Louis. Carter, who has 100½ career sacks, was a first-round pick out of Florida in 1995 by the Rams.
  11. I think an easier plan would be to get a coach in here who can get these guys attention and get them to play hard, such as boxing out, HELPING OUT ON DEFENSE!-geez I thought Woodson was supposed to be a defensive guru?! No one is helping out except for Smith, and if his man gets past him it is pathetic-a free lane to the basket! A true center would be a huge help, like Diop or even Camby would be a great fit if for the right price, didnt Nug's and Hawks talk trade for him year or 2 ago? To me it boils down to about 2/3 of the roster is just not putting forth the effort that is required to rebound and play defense, that is, team defense-they all seem to be solid one on one, but good smart team defense is truly lacking on this squad. Again, get a coach in to fire these guys up and get a defensive presence to keep the opposing team from having freebie points.
  12. Quote: Brady Quinn for DeAngelo Hall Quinn may be a bit overrated but he's certainly comparable to anything we'd get in the 2nd round if not better in the draft. yea I saw on another board that it could turn into a 3-way deal, Giants sending first to Cleve, Cleve send Quinn to Atl, and Atl sending Hall to NY I would be down for that, or the 1st and 2 5's coming from NY, those make sense for Atl
  13. Quote: Ainge may have the right size and pedigree but I'm fearful that he will become another Joey Harrington, a guy who gets rattled with very little defensive pressure. agree 100%, I have seen ainge before he had such a solid o-line last year, literally just flip the ball into traffic to avoid getting hit, very Harrington-esque, HEY a new word! LOL
  14. I cannot see Falcons doing this, and if they do then-well I dont know what, but I would not be happy. First off, I cant see giving away DHall just to move up 2 spots to #1 from #3. Like was said earlier, there is not a single player who is THE pick at #1. I dont even want ATL to take Ryan at 3, much less at #1! Any Hall trade I heard so far was to the Giants for their #31 selection and 2 5th rounders. Much prefer taking one of the Long Brothers(Chris or Jake), or Dorsey or even McFadden @3, and then take one of the other qbs in round 2, be it Flacco, Henne, or the SDSU qb-who maybe could even get in the 3rd. I dont see a big difference between Ryan and the other top 3-4 qbs.
  15. I know there was a long ovation for Nique and his first game back w/ the Clippers, and alot of cheering throughout the game when he would score and do well.
