Is it just me or doe the Nique statue seems more about politics than merit. Not saying he doesn't deserve it because he does, but the timing of the statue seems odd.  Statue looks awesome tho!

He will always catch heat for not winning a title.  Most fans believe you only get hardware like that after multiple championships.  Hell Kareem had multiple titles and still had to beg for his.

Nique is eons better now than when he started announcing games. Guess that's kinda sad considering but oh well. I am also mad at Nique for his stubbornness with the Ferry situation but can't talk shit about the man. You guys should listen to his interview on 92.9 The Game today. The man absolutely LOVES Atlanta and accepts being the face of the franchise. So many others have turned their backs on us over the years.

Think about all the sneaky bs Ferry pulled when he first came here.  You know how the business world works.  Guys pick sides.  It's obvious (well obvious to me) Ferry picked the side opposing Nique.

That has nothing to do with Nique being an awful  commentator.  I can't believe no one around him has the balls to tell him such.  Nique would be decent If they could get him to use less cliches and  stop being so repetitive.  But that will never happen since he's surrounded by a bunch of middle aged fanboys.

I'm a bit disappointed in Jeff.  What's the point of directing comments to Josh.  This is between Josh and us fans.  Stay out of it! 

I think if you took this team's record to any NBA town where they had to endure years of Osh, Iso-Joe, Marvin, Woody, and LD, there would be a ton of guys hopping on the bandwagon, too. For the love of God, we created a drinking game on the chat after LD press conferences and dropped enough expletives there after a horrid Osh shot/turnover/bad pass to have gotten any of us banned today. That's how flawed those teams were. Yet he expected us to give him a standing ovation?

 

Can you imagine what Bull or Laker fans had done if they had to witness Osh taking those shots in their uniform? He would've gotten booed the instant he took off his warmups. Spurs fans would've tried to kill him; that's if Pops didn't get to him Clemenza-style first...'oh, you won't see him no more...'

Sorry but I have to cosign with the others here.  Listening to Nique is damn near like listening to Pootie Tang.

It seems like the closer we get to this statue the worse he becomes. He had opposing fans raging last night for sure. He does no research whatsoever, he's not balanced at all in his commentary, he usually finds at least one opposing player to roast the entire game, he's repetitive as all hell, he's not very articulate or clever, and he's completely full of himself. I don't hate the guy by any means, but I don't have the same connection to him that many of you do. I wish he had a much smaller role within the organization.

Is that just your feeling?   He shot 43% from 3 in the Indy series and was 5-10 in game 7.

Feel.  I can recall Korver being a total wreck in more than a few of those close playoff games when he was with the Bulls.

Korver has a history of getting worse as the games begin to matter more. 

He's not a big time announcer and should be fired.  I doubt it would ever happen.  Everything surrounding the team is too political these days.

Josh has to understand that the fanbase sucked because the team sucked.

When you look at the lineups that Antić has played with, his on court success this season has been HEAVILY tied to playing with Thabo Sefolosha.  

 

Even the stat that most people champion him on ( the +/- stat ), that has fallen completely off of a cliff with no Thabo in the lineup.  He was a whopping -11 in February in +/-.  I personally don't put much stock in that stat, because that -11 was probably not Antić's fault . . . just like +15 he posted in December wasn't because of his good play.

 

Antić needs the most talented players on the team around him, to be successful, because he's normally not going to produce much of anything in the box score.  This is why people tout his "hall of fame" like screen setting and his ability to stand outside and draw centers from the paint, as reasons why Bud plays him.

Man you would have to be a really dumb center to be drawn out by a horrblie shooter like Pero.

He said that Pero would hit his shots... Well, when is Pero going to start doing it? He hasn't done it in like 2 months... And if we're being honest, Pero's jump shot is off a hellva lot more than its on.

 

Coach Bud hasn't won anything yet... So stop pretend that he is god.

You do see that around here.  People have made Bud the God of basketball.  Almost feels like we're not fans of a team but members of a cult.
