  1. The only problem with DJ being assertive is when he does decided to drive to the hoop, he doesn't know rather to pull up or try to take it strong. He always looks indecisive. I really think that if Lon and the staff would work on DJ's fundamentals he would become more aggresive. When I watch him it is almost like he has never played basketball before, because he is a tremendous athlete but he doesn't use his athleticism towards basketball. It reminds me a lot of when they take a track star and try to turn him into a WR in the NFL. They look very awkward also. There is more to being a good basketball player then being aggresive and athletic. Things DJ needs to learn. 1. To keep a low center of gravity. He needs to bend at the knees and not with his back. This is why he looks so awkward like he is about to fall over. 2.Needs to learn how to use his quickness correctly. He should be virtually unstoppable on the low block. With his quickness he should have all kinds of drop steps, spins and fades. (Ala Reef being quicker then most PF's) 3. Needs to learn to use his size. I think DJ has watched to many AND1 tapes trying to cross everyone up. He needs to learn to take the smaller player down low and simply shoot over them. 4. DJ needs to learn to square up when he shoots. He seems to do this fine when he is standing still, but the instance he puts it on the floor I can almost gurantee he will take and off balance shot. He doesn't seem to be able to balance himself while in the air. 5. He needs to work on his dribbling in the worst way. I am not saying he has to be excellent but at least serviceable. I really think DJ will play SF in his career because he really doesn't dribble well enough to play SG. I also believe he will be a monster on the blocks when he develops.
  2. The way I see it DJ has two options. He either has to learn how to dribble better, or he has to develop a low post game. I would prefer he did both. It is kind of funny to watch DJ play because he looks so awkward. A lot of his movements are very mechanical. I don't understand it. He hasn't grown in at least 2 years it would seem he would at least be used to his body by now. How can Demarr's jumpshot be so nice from behind the arc and then so ugly from there in. When he actually does decide to drive to the basket, he pulls up to shoot and realeases from whatever angle he is at.( its just awkward) Most people when they pull up for a jumper, square their shoulders, but not DJ. When I watch DJ its almost like he has great control of his legs and no control of his middle through upperbody. I was very disapointed in DJ's dribbling progress, he is exactly the same from that standpoint. It really makes me wonder what are our coaches teaching him. In conlusion I am hoping I just saw one of his bad games. In order to be good he is really going to have to work on using his size against opponents. He needs to realize he doesn't have to dribble around everyone. He can simply get to a spot he likes and put his narrow a$$ into them and shoot over them. All these awkward falling all over the place shots need to go.
  3. I agree Iverson is no where near a real thug. It's the same out here where I live in Lithia Springs. I see all these fake Douglasville thugs and it makes me want to laugh. The truth being if you really grew up around thugs you wouldn't want to imitate them. I spent my younger years in some pretty mean streets and I am glad we are gone. It's ashame how media (specifically) our own black stars push this pseudothug B.S. Instead of showing young kids what it really takes to be a sucessful they give them this thug wanna be crap. The thing that makes me really mad about is that the young kids don't realize it is just an act. Then they go out and really shoot somebody at age 12 because they think they are thugs. I don't blame the rappers and players though I blame their parents for not teaching them the difference between fantasy and reality.
  4. Thanks for the particulars Jay. Yea I like that pic also. Hey if we can't win at football, we may as well have some of the fine home grown Georgia girls Cheer for us.
  5. Where did the rapist and accesory to murder come from hds428.(for Clinton) As for the who is a thug an etc.... commentary. You should be very careful not to judge people. I know its easy as humans to look at others flaws and say hey he is flawed, because its easy to see the smolt in one mans eye and ignore the beam in your own. Don't judge people because you will be judged.
  6. Thats how I found Hawksquak. I used to go to the Falcons site all the time on the AA site. I started visiting the Hawks site on there also because I am the ATLien. And someone posted a link about a newboard Hawksquak. I clicked on it and the rest is H to the izzo istory.

    Trading Dion

Lol if I was there trust me it would be. Don't sleep on the skills I pull plenty of fine women. I may have to go down to the Falcons Cheerleaders training camp LOL.
  8. whats the logistics behind him losing his BYC status Jay?

    Trading Dion

No its not me in the picture, I got it off the Falcons site. Thats their cheerleaders in the bahamas. I am thinking about cutting him out and adding me in with photoshop. LOL But then I would have to load it to the website I don't have. just to get it on here. I wish Dion could stay healthy also. I really can't argue with you on the health issue. At least none of them have been major injuries since he joined the NBA. They need to send him to Theo's doctor so he can make him better than ever. LOL You know the coach that could probably get the most out of Dion? Larry Brown. Dion is definitley one of those players that needs a strong coaching presence like Brown or Riley. I know Dion wants to be great, but I think he believes he has already arrived at times.
  10. Sorry I started about 2 years ago on the EZboard site.

    Trading Dion

You know I can remember when Dion was considered a solid defensive player. It wasn't until this year that he got into the defensive dog house. Honestly there is no reason why Dion shouldn't be a great defensive player. He is big and strong and explosive. He has all the physical attributes to be a good defensive player so that tells me its in his mind. Someone has to motivate Dion and make him hungry. He is hungry to score, so teach him to be hungry to defend.
  12. Is it just me or is George Karl full of himself? There are way to many personalites on the Bucks team with Karl being the ring leader. The have a real 3 ring circus going on over there.

    Trading Dion

You know the more I think about it the more I am against it. Why should we trade Dion? We know he can score and we need a 3rd scorer. We likely won't get anyone with as much potential as Dion if we trade him. I think our future lineup should be JT/DD Dion/IRA DJ/Kukoc Sar/Hendu Theo/Nazar I agree with what Hotlanta said. Lets keep Dion. If we can get him to play hard all the time then that team is excellent. We know Dion can play defense when motivated to do so, so motivate him. I think this is what Pete's vision was for the future, and I believe he may be giving up on it to fast. This team would be exciting and explosive, with good role players.
  14. Now you see what I mean about the media B.S ing us. How the hell can you think it was blood when it probably was gum on the seat. They are really trying to drag Iverson's name in the dirt and he has been doing well for a while now.
  15. Dolfan you know very well you can't see crap from that camera angle. If you want to see him score use the replay from when they challenged it and you will see Christian put the ball over.
  16. I dont think Miami would trade the #10 pick which was a still for George who was like a late rounder. Doesn't make much since for Miami IMO.
  17. Chilz I am glad to see someone else recognizes what the media is doing. They do it all the time to athletes so they can get ratings. The bottom line is that News media wants to make money and if there is no big story they will try to create one.
  18. I wonder if DJ has been working on his low post game? I always here about him needing to work on dribbling and I here about him shooting extra shots. I certainly hope he learns to post players because at 6-9 he has an advantage over almost every shooting guard. I would love to see him adopt that fade away like Jordan had.
  19. Hotlanta I like your picture who is that? Send her number to me in a private message. LOL
  20. The only thing stopping me from wanting KG is his contract. There are very few players in this league I would take over KG. He is an excellent player in this league all ready and he is still young. His potential isn't even close to maxed out. I think the PPG stat is weighted way to heavy in this league. Magic Johonson didn't average 30 ppg per game, but he is considered one of the greatest for a reason. A guy that pulls down 12 rpg and dishes out 5-6 assist and blocks however many shot is not overated imo. Overpaid but not overated.
  21. I figured it was somthing along those line Chillz. Like I said before, for all I know AI could have bust in with a super soaker and espn would have reported. AI bust into the home of a man and pulled out a gun and sprayed them all LOL. ESPN's job is to get ratings we must remember that, don't let them pull sheeps wool over your eyes. I believe very little the media tells me because they have their own interest at heart.
  22. Actually Hawksfreak I think you did well on your starters predictions. I could see it possibly playing out just like that. You bench predictions are just rediculous though. You are getting better.
  23. The dirty birds released Grahm for obvious reasons. They got Jackson on a pretty good contract also. 1Mil a year not bad. I think Finneran and Jackson will probably start, with Jefferson playing a lot also. I hope they use more 3 receiver sets this year. They probably will if they don't have to keep 2 tight ends in just to attempt to block for the QB. LOL Thats why I say the season hinges on the O-line. It's not like you need Randy Moss at reciever to make it to ithe playoffs. I think the Steelers and Patriots are proof of that. Teams should do what works best for them and stop trying to copy cat.
