Plus, Cleveland already has their star locked up; people will come play with him. We are still at the bottom floor trying to convince a star to come here; or pretending to the public that we are trying to get a star to come here. Maybe, behind closed doors, those stars had too much African in them for Ferry . . .

Yeah, but it is hard to judge whether or not his, or anyone else's, hiring and firing was affected by prejudiced views. Unfortunately, he has opened the door to make some think he may have those views. That is why he probably will be and probably should be fired.

Yeah, why say it at all, whether someone is gunning for you or not? By using the qualifier "I don't mean that in a bad way except...," it tells us that he knew he wasn't saying something he should have been saying.

Anytime you have to qualify your statement with "I don't mean to be rude", you are about to or have said something rude. Just like anytime you have to qualify your statement with "I don't say that in a bad way", you are about to or have said something "in a bad way".

I have no idea what Danny Ferry is doing, so I can't comment on that. But I can respond to those who are deriding those who say Bebe may have had something. If Bebe has nothing and, as one person put it, won't ever play in the NBA, then why is the GM from Toronto trading for him? Is he just stupid? Just as someone said, we value our players over others; but they should have added that we also lessen the value of those leaving.
