Sarr hater’s logic;
”the kid on the left is too small to defend in the NBA. He will get dominated “ lol
“This dude below can move but is just a big wing, he will never be able to play center in the NBA at his weight”
“Yeah, maybe playing overseas but no way can he ever take the physicality of the NBA”

People have been lauding OKC for years though and what have they accomplished?
Not a damn thing. Less than the Trae Hawks for sure.

Hawks stay playing with a 9 piece toddler puzzle at the kiddy table.
They refuse to play with the 1000 piece puzzle.
This is the biggest frustration. I don’t care if it falls flat on its face (I do) just have a vision and stick to it. We all knew it was not going to be easy to build around Trae, but we at least had a plan in the beginning and saw that it could work even if we weren’t a finished product at the time. We have sacrificed a lot of fit for finance and the results are what they are.

The 2nd apron is still brand new. We haven't seen the full impact of it yet. Many teams are going to bury themselves giving out these max contracts to non all-star players. They don't even realize it yet. Non stars making 50-60 million are going to quickly become negative value contracts that can't be moved and the teams will be stuck.
I agree with the sentiment, but I guarantee you there are people within these organizations that are very aware of the financial ramifications and risks moving forward and they have decided that it’s a risk (investment) worth making in order to try and win a championship.
Mostly, it’s the owners signing off on the commitments and in the end it’s their money. But, underneath that, the FO’s are willing to come off the role players and replace them with vet mins when it comes time to save money. The idea is that you’re committing to a handful of key guys for a lot off money and filling out around them. They are not interested in the Hawks model of 7 to 9 good but not great players all making $18+ million to not be a contender.

It was KAT’s defense vs Jokic that helped the Wolves pull out that series. He had to step up for Gobert who was getting bodied in the post.

We aren’t getting KAT. No need to worry about his fit.

Hey everyone, I have a great idea. Let’s take another thread and turn it in to a draft discussion about Sarr, Edey, Clingan, and Risacher.
Let’s ignore the threads dedicated to those topics.
Matter of fact, why even have threads? Let’s create an open forum discussing the #1 pick and everyone’s dream trade for this offseason.

I don't see it on him being a "3" however)
Because he is not. There are really bad Sarr takes on here that go against every evaluation of him.

Luka is as good today as he was yesterday, as he was months ago, and as he was years ago. It’s easy to be prisoners of the moment, but even Chuck said it last night, the playoffs are about matchups and this is a tough matchup for the Wolves. Meanwhile, the Nuggets would have been a tougher matchup for the Mavs.
Luka gets his numbers against anyone. That’s never changed. 2 wins by a combined 4 points doesn’t all of a sudden make him any more elite, or the trade sting any worse, than was already the case the past few seasons.

This is what we mean when we say we don’t have faith in the front office. Folks can get in their feelings debating Siakam, KAT, Ingram, KD, etc…. but the truth of the matter is our FO would pull the trigger on trades for lesser talent like George and Reeves in a heartbeat. We are not serious.
This isn’t a knock on those guys individually, but we have no business acquiring more guard size players to replace DJ and run next to Trae if they aren’t legit star level talent and even then it’s about the right fit. We need size and length. We need to either commit to that or move on from Trae.

Every thread at this point…. We have got to be the only NBA fanbase even mentioning the kid’s name. This is not normal behavior.

Minny is a tough matchup for Dallas. Minny has 3 bigs better than what Dallas has up front. McDaniels will get Luka, Ant says he’s guarding Kyrie.
Dallas is going to have to knock down shots from the perimeter, because I think the paint will be shut down completely.

Naz Reid might be my favorite TWolf other than Ant. That dude is a load coming off the bench behind 2 dominant bigs. They don’t miss a beat with him in the game.

Great game between Minnesota and Denver. Ant is not dominating, but having vets like Conley, KAT, and Gobert help. Denver is vulnerable but hanging in there.
Big time plays tonight

Thibs should not be allowed to coach in the NBA when he’s repeatedly killed his players and caused injuries due to overuse that undermine their ability to go the distance in the postseason.

If OO is the piece that will make or break a trade for Ingram then I am duecing him out and holding on to Capela.

OKC choked that game away. Also, I hate the Mavs. F em.
Youth doesn't win championships in the NBA. When all else is even, you can bet on the guys who have been there before.

Watching this OKC-MAVS game looking at some weak over the back calls between Lively and Holmgren thinking, yeah, Sarr can definitely play Center in today’s NBA. Centers may be tall these days but they are mostly all finesse. That includes Embiids flopping ass. Big men are too skilled today to fall in love with stiffs who can’t open their hips up while the move. Sarr is going to THRIVE in the league.

Decided to sign in here for the first time in a bit, having read some of the stuff about Edey.
I'd probably take him somewhere between 10-15, there's no way I'd take him 1st.
To me, if you're dreaming on him a bit, maybe he's Yao Ming with a workable jumper considering how he shoots free throws (although Ming was a pretty good free throw shooter with me taking a look). I'm not 100% sure that works in the NBA today, but considering how productive he was in college, he'll be going mid-first round.
There really isn't any chance he's discussed at all by the Hawks though.
Great post and agreed.
The Ming comp is very relative. And there is a reason he lasted only 8 seasons. This is even before the fame evolved to the perimeter. He was damn near obsolete then.
Can he be physically imposing? Sure, but there is so much more to the game.

Bridges would be a nice add. I like the idea of these long, veteran dudes.

I've been watching the 2024 NBA Draft class and it's been... weaker than usual

It’s too predictable. Went from weak draft to “ let’s trade for 2 more top 10 picks” lol
