  1. We should sign Terrence Williams to add another wing player. It would allow to us play big and would add some athleticism. What yall think? Teague/Dennis Korver/Lou/Jenkins Caroll/Tw Millsap/Brand/Scott Horford/Antić
  2. Peter Vecsey: After suggesting Atl (lowest NBA cap, 21.5M July 1) might b inclined 2 trade Horford (3 yrs left, 12M per) b4 Feb 21 d'line or summer someone asked how that would benefit the Hawks. Great question. So I asked those qualified 2 know such things. Answer is: "Not at all." At least b4 deadline. Danny Ferry has prepared (dealing JJ, Marvin Williams 2 create this space) and is prepared 2 pursue Dwight. Twitter Atlanta Hawks, Trade, Al Horford |Peter Vecsey: By that, I mean, Ferry/Atl has assembled 3 of DH's AAU teammates--Josh, Lou & Morrow. U might have known that fact. It was news to me. What does that have 2 do w Horford? His salary goes long way toward completing possible sign-and-trade w Lakers. That's all-important since CBA prohibits using FAs in deals involving other FAs. So, if DH decides 2 lv LA, Atl can sign outright or in S&T Twitter
  3. Josh Smith and Anthony Tolliver to Dallas for Chris Kaman, Rodrique Beaubois, Brandan Wright and their 2013 first round pick. Both sides would be receiving players with expiring contracts and the suspension of Josh Smith shows that their is frustration within the locker room. We need to fire LD and start developing a new core for the future. We would have have 3 first round picks, assuming Houston makes the playoffs, and cap space still remaining in the offseason. We could also get rid of D Harris and use his contract as a trading chip.
  4. I would keep Smoove at 4, he's dynamic and I agree we need a coach who could demand discipline. LD is good but not great. Zaza and Ivan can crash the boards. I don't understand why Ivan gets inconsistent minutes, he's a tough player, and Zaza plays hard most of the time. Hoford is a great player but IMO he plays too stiff. His defense has slipped and with D12, Smoove would be excellent because he would mostly be playing help defense which would allow him to get more blocks.
  5. We should only pursue Rudy Gay if we can somehow acquire D12 in the offseason. Horford is solid but D12 is an upgrade and what our team needs, a defensive center. We could trade Horford in order to get draft picks/cap space and more utility players. Trade Devin Harris, Anthony Morrow, and Kyle Korver for Rudy Gay and Selby/Wroten. We could sign Morrow in the offseason when he becomes a free agent, we need shooters, and Korver has stated that he isn't that big on Atlanta so he probably wouldn't resign. Teague/Lou Jenkins Gay Smoove/Ivan/Scott D12/Zaza We would still have cap space and plenty of draft picks to use in a package trade to get a high lottery pick and select a wing player (Shabazz, McLemore). Thoughts please? Don't bash
  6. Although I like Smoove I think we should trade him to the Pacers. Al Horford IMO is not much of a difference maker as he plays to robotic and we should listen to offers for him too; but the best offer we could get is from Indiana for Paul George and David West.I would love to keep Smoove but he is not worth the max and getting a player like George would solidfy our backcourt for years. I like John Jenkins but he is more of a role player and could be an excellent backup. David West is a proven scorer and could bring toughness and leadership to our roster, and his contract is almost up so we would still have cap space.
  7. Only way this works if LAL trades Gasol to the Bulls, we send Smoove to LAL, and Noah comes here. We would also have the chance to land players like Ronnie Brewer, Steve Blake, Jordan Hill, and possibly Taj Gibson.TeagueJJHorfordNoah
  8. The 1st proposal is the best trade I've seen on this board. However I don't think the Bulls willl part ways with both Gibson and Noah but if we could add Noah, Brewer, and maybe their 29th pick it would make us a better team. We would have money to resign Hinrich and with the 24th and 29th picks we could target a SG (Doron Lamb) and a post player like center from Vandy.Teague/HinrichLamb/BrewerJJ/MarvHorford/29thNoah/Zaza
  9. Would you trade JJ for Rudy Gay? I'm not sure if Memphis would do it straight up but would you make that trade? A frontcourt of Gay, Smoove, and Horford is very solid and the only position we would need to fill is SG, which we could target with our #24 pick (Doron Lamb or Evan Fournier).
  10. Would you trade JJ for #8/Kleiza/Amir Johnson/Ed Davis if we had a chance at a SG like Eric Gordon. He's going to be a star once he's healthy. We could offer alot of money with the cleared cap space and package our 8 & 24 picks up if MKG falls out the top 3.TeagueGordonMKGSmooveHorfordTeague and Gordon could be a dangerous backcourt, and we still would have enough money to sign other free agents.
  11. Toronto has the #8 pick and is willing to trade the pick for a proven player. We could trade JJ for their pick, Ed Davis, and Jose Calderon. They're willing to take on a big contract and it would allow them to move Derozan to the 3. We would receive a solid backup PG and a young big man in Ed Davis. Also we would have two first round draft picks, #8 & #23, and would get rid of JJ's contract. In FA we could pursue Eric Gordon to fill the SG position. And if a player like Kidd-Gilchrist falls we could package our picks to obtain our future SF. If not, we would have many options in this deep draft class with two first round picks.Thoughts please?
  12. Gasol has stated that he wants to play for Chicago and if we traded Smoove for Gasol maybe we could make a deal. If we can get Gasol do ya'll think the Bulls would trade Noah for Gasol and maybe our first round pick. It gives them a better offensive frontcourt and it gives us our center next to Horford. Also we need to trade MW and find a defensive 2/3 to play next to JJ.
  13. Just an idea, I'm not sure if it could work bc of the salaries but he's a restricted FA this year and is an underrated star. He could play SG and allow JJ to play the 3. We should def trade Marvin in attempt to get more draft picks. If we were able to obtain their lottery pick we could select a big man in Andre Drummond. He's a project but him and Horford could be dangerous in a few years.TeagueEGJJHorfordDrummondAny thoughts?
  14. We all know he wants out and has been suspended by the Kings. He is a legit center and I've read reports that most offers will be "low-ball" offers. We could offer Marvin Williams, Kirk Hinrich, and draft picks for Cousins. I've seen posts saying trade Josh Smith but IMO he's our most important player. A lineup of Teauge/JJ/Smoove/Horford/Cousins would be scary for other teams. We would have our center of the future and would only be a few pieces away from finally competing in the east. Teague/Pargo JJ/Green Smoove/Tmac Horford/Vlad Cousins/Zaza Trading Hinrich would also free up cap space as we could sign players to help our bench. Hopefully, Sund is making phone calls!
  15. An amnesty clause will allow us to rid ourselves of a "bad contract," and the most likely target is Marvin Williams. We would clear up cap space which would help us sign other free agents. We are likely going to lose Jamal Crawford to free agency but it seems as if our 3 guard rotation will be effective. We need to look for a big man such as: Tyson Chandler or Marc Gasol. Horford would excel at the 4 and Smoove could play the 3, which would enhance our defense. Another player who could help is Wilson Chandler who could add another scoring option. We may be able to restructure Marvin's contract as he could still be a viable option off the bench as a combo forward, but his days as a starter should be over. A lineup of Teague, JJ, Smoove, Horford, Chandler/Gasol would be very effective with Hinrich, Marvin, Zaza, and maybe another guard off the bench. Also Shannon Brown is a free agent that could add more athletic ability to this team. Also 3pt shooters James Jones & Deaquan Cook are FAs as we need a spot-up shooter. They both could come cheap.
  16. Although I'm against the lockout, it will benefit JJ in getting 100% healthy. He's the 3rd best SG in the league only behind Kobe and Dwade and if we could add a defensive post presence and Teague continues to gain confidence we could be the "OKC/Memphis" of the east. We're still young and and if we could add a few more pieces we could be very good. Good vid on JJ, Hopefully Smoove, Teague, and Horford are working even harder.
  17. This is just a question would you trade JJ for Monta Ellis? I understand the salaries don't match but GS is looking for a sg with size and honestly JJ probably has 2 more productive years left. Just a question don't read too much into it but if given the opportunity would you make this trade?
  18. Horford is a better all around player but Bynum is more of a pure center and has more size at the position, and Wilson Chandler is not Marvin's clone I've watched both play several times and Chandler is way more aggresive he will get 17-20 pts if needed and he plays defense. Thad Young is still very young he may just be 21 so he has time to grow and his athletic ability could turn this team into one of the most athletic defensive teams in the league pairing him with Smoove and Horford, plus Teague's defensive ability.
  19. Since we are most likely not going to get a center in FA, We need to look at signing a SF to help fill one of our needs. IMO Horford is the 4th best center in the league behind Howard, Bynum, and Howard. With the rumors of us getting new management, and by us not moving Smoove on draft day I'm sure we're moving forward with our core players (Teague, JJ, Smoove, Horford). If we can find a way to dump Marvin's contract we can have enough cap room to sign a better SF. Thaddeus Young went to GT and he's from the south so I'm sure he would think about playing for the Hawks and Wilson Chandler is a good scorer that could compliment JJ. We should also look to sign Shannon Brown who has ties in ATL to replace Jamal Crawford. Zaza is good defensive backup and we all know he's going to play 100% all the time. Hinrich is a nice compliment off the bench also. We need a primary 3pt shooter - (James Jones/Daequan Cook). We're not that far from contending but we have to change our team mentality. We've seen flashes that this team could be a defensive minded team we just the right discipline. Teague JJ Chandler/Young Smoove Horford FA: Shannon Brown, James Jones/Daequan Cook

    Nene

If we could get a deal for Nene in free agency do yall think he would come to Atl or stay in Denver? We are "win-now" mode IMO and he could be the center that could upgrade our team. That would allow Smoove to play the 3 and Marvin to come off the bench as a combo forward. Hinrich would then be 3rd guard and I really want us to sign either Shannon Brown or James Jones to fill our 8/9 man rotation.
  21. Lighty could make the team as the 4th guard. He's a good spot up shooter and plays defense, he's somewhat of a glue guy and hopefully new ownership is serious about winning bc honestly we're only a few pieces away.
  22. Josh Selby will be a productive NBA player mark my words. His game fits the NBA just as Brandon Jennings did. Remember, Jennings only avg about 8 ppg overseas and Selby was on a loaded Kansas team. Check him out on youtube the kid can ball
  23. this man can ball he had seton hall on his back.. I've seen him play a lot he can score with ease
  24. This is just my opinion, but if we decide to trade with another team we should try and use Horford to get a true center (Bogut). Honestly, the top 3 centers in the league IMO are Dwight, Bogut, and Hoford, even though he plays out of position. (Hibert is very good too). If we can't upgrade we should stick with Smoove and Horford, and try to get a young defensive center off the bench (maybe Benson?). We need to let go of Crawford, and I'm pretty sure Shannon Brown will come to Atl. (His girlfriend and had issues with Gasol in LA). Also, James Jones will most likely be released. Miami didn't use him in the finals and they don't have enough cap to keep both Miller and Jones, he's the odd man out. He could be our backup 3 man. I'm not a fan of Marvin starting so if he is kept he could be servicable off the bench as a combo fwd. Wilson Chandler is another player who is a RFA, and he could fill our hole at 3. 2012 Outlook Teague/Hinrich JJ Marvin Smoove Horford The same core but in order to win we need a legit 3 man who can ball (Wilson Chandler) and if we can't upgrade the center position we should be alright, but we need a defensive coach. We tried to model the Pistons after the championship run but we're missing the most important factor - DEFENSE, but it can be fixed we've seen flashes.Teague will make his way to the second-tier pgs (Conley, Nelson, Harris) and his potential is limitless once he gains more confidence.
  25. All these trade talks about moving Smoove are getting out of hand, he's wanted for a reason he's a difference maker when he's completely focused. We need to trade Horford (3rd All NBA) for a true center in Bogut. The Bucks have been listening to offers and were reportedly thinking about sending him to the TWolves for the 2nd pick. Horford is a great player but he's a PF and we need a true center. We would then need to trade Marvin and try to obtain an effective SF, such as Wilson Chandler who's a RFA this year. Smoove is our X-factor and if we trade him the # of fans attending games will go down. I would also trade JJ if the right scenario came up. We could add Shannon Brown, who will come cheaper than Crawford and we would still have Hinrich to backup PG. Even if we don't trade Marvin, he could be serviceable off the bench as a combo forward. Teague JJ (Wilson Chandler) Smoove Bogut
