@OldTimeHawk I think you are way off-base with that and its too much to say about that so I move it on

First of all, I think Trae is a Hawk for life no doubt about it but the one thing I think people is forgetting that he just got that new contract, he is a new father, and alot more responsibilities as face of the Hawks.  Sometimes, he might be trying too hard and not paying attention to many things.  Sometimes, i wish he does not do three-point bombs all of the time but it is part of his game that he can use that as a weapon to get into the paint.

Yeah, we do need a soft reset after this season, but I think that Trae will be fine and want to represent us for rest of his career.

Im not anti Trae . I love the guy but he has to do the little things and make his teammates look good and put the team in good situations.  Taking personal responsibility for his shortcomings and working his ass off to stop being  the weak link on defense.  Im not saying he has to lead the league but putting in effort and doing the same dirty work as everyone else goes a long way to inspire your team mates. A locker room is always going to be somewhat dysfunctional but here we are again after adding talent and its the same shit. But ultimately NM will be the guy gone - seems hes lost Trae - we aint moving forward until one of them is gone .

What assets have been traded away to appease Trae?  I'll wait.

G'head and say Heurter and I'll let others inform you why he's gone.  Who else?

I'd love to see what Murray can do too.  Perhaps you miss the minutes each game where it's his show while Trae sits?

Next thing you know you'll be telling us we need to take the ball from Trae and give it to Hunter ... so he can dribble it off his knees a couple more times.

    Sheesh...

any team sports is about establishing roles. This is Traes team and he calls the shots . Murray got to step lightly .  The team dynamic has to change but the power rests with Trae. A mature player uses that power wisely and exhibits leadership through actions. Lets pretend that Trae has done this and its all NM fault while also scapegoating JC.

Hey that’s not a bad idea… give him that Celtic Bill Russell green light 💡. Nate is plum out of ideas. He’s got a monotone voice to go with a monotone game plan.. monotone adjustments.

at this point we are who we are . We dont trade Trae this season but we cant keep playing at this level. NM will be gone very soon if he cant get ahold of this situation. Then we reevaluate whether Trae can work here in the offseason and a blow up is in order. But in my opinion this team is underachieving . Coaches dont have the power they did in the past and NM is gonna lose unless he can figure out how to salvage this quick.

How many nba players actually play defense with "heart and desire"?

Suggesting we can get a draft pick to "replace him" ignores literal decades of proof that's not possible.

And how do we know he's the one in the mix that needs to "grow up"?  Spoiler alert, we don't know.

we have traded away multiple assets to surround Trae with players yet here we are and Trae is still jacking up stupid shots at the worst possible moments , standing around if the balls not in his hands, and constantly being the weak link on the defensive side of the ball. The offense isnt working because its either all about Trae getting his. Basketball is about finding out who is hot on a given night and getting them the ball and exploiting mismatches. We pretty much are watching while Murray goes into a shell . So I guess to keep Trae happy we bust up this team again and fire the coach? Maybe Trae wants to be player coach too ??  I would love to see what Murray an do and how he would utilize his teamates.

  5. I think we have the pieces Trae just needs to grow the f up and get better. Moving Trae does not mean rebuild in my opinion. It just means we either getting an asset back and the internal strife goes away or we get a future draft pick to replace him and the internal strife goes away. And more than likely the defensive liability that is T Young is replaced with someone that has the heart and desire to play defense.

  6. Im pretty optimistic - the guys are young but have talent. But one thing they dont have yet is bad habits that old vets have. If they buy into the system and execute and share the basketball we will surprise a lot of teams.  Right now other than Dennis we arent really locked into any players. If they dont play Bud ball its not gonna hurt to turn them loose.  Lots of upside to this team but want to see how the bench shakes out.

  7. this is year 2 and players like Bazemore are going to get more playing time and a season to develop even more. Its all about the system guys and giving players on the roster a chance to grow into those roles. If we need to upgrade come trade deadline we will but folks have to realize we arent the Cavs and a handful of other teams that can just throw money out there - also look for Lebron to screw Cleveland again.

  8. http://sports.yahoo.com/news/investigation-finds-no-evidence-bias-ferry-231647653--nba.html  When the people you work for dont have the courage to stand up for you why would you want to come back ?? This was a fear based decision  NOT to back up Ferry ,  little too late  for the Hawks that just lost the guy that turned this team around and gave us credibility  even though we had the worst ownership in the NBA.

  9. I would love to have Noah and Horf back on the same team. The things they could do together on the court could be amazing. Noah is the kind of leader and fiery player we could use. His defense and passing and overall effort would go over pretty well with Buds style of play. Cant shoot tho, only downfall.

I dont think we need him to shoot we just need a strong force in the middle that can inspire guys to suck itup and lay it all on the court. Noah seems like hes the type to hold everyone accountable.

  10. I think it would be the opposite actually.  I see it as AL has had the luxury of being matched up with big guys for his entire career, when considering offense.  Al lives and dies by the midrange jumper and those big guys have a tough time getting out to Al in time.  Put a quicker PF on Al and that midrange shot won't be open as often and Al hasn't shown me anything that would lead me to believe that he can take a quicker PF off the dribble.  He has next to know post moves.

How will he be able to score more on a PF than a C?

I think he wont be as worn down through the season . At any rate I dont think Al at center is going to be the answer for our rebounding issues.

  11. I'm a big Schröder fan but I don't think this is the year we get rid of Teague and let him start. Teague is one of the best bargains in the league and seems to fit more into our "move the ball" offense . Schröder is a great passer and driver, but I don't think he has learned how to run our offense--yet. Being able to make a great pass and knowing when to pass are two separate things.

WE got some hard choices to make - Dennis upped his game big time over last year so Im thinkingwith a little more seasoning he could do even more  Point is we know where we couldnt compete and that rebounding the ball. I love Jeff but in order to get better we have to look hard at what we have - I personally think Dennis can handle it.

Its possible we dont make a move until after Christmas - play the first part of the season and see what we have and what we need. BTW AL needs to move to PF. Im bettin ghis ppg goes up with the move.

  12. I said decent average C not a superstar talented C.

If you want a superstar talented C caliber, where you gonna put him in the starter position? Who's role he has to take over? Millsap?

You said you want to trade Teague for a Talented C, If you do that There's no point guard in the team, If you want the talented C in the starter position. Also, you just said you want to push Al horford to the C spot. Im confused..

you aint gonna get  a superstar for Jeff - but you can get an all star caliber player that can score when needed and help shut down the inside. We need someone thats gonna fit the system and the system doesnt all for a superstar.

  13. So you think getting rid of jeff and moving Al to PF will solve our supposed scoring problem. I hate to tell you but jeff will always be a better scorer than Al whether he is at PF or C. This scenario involves moving sap and sap and jeff were two of our only three players that could score on their own.

Al has had to match up with bigger guys his whole  career . Watch his ppg rise if he doesnt have to wear himself out every game.
