  1. I have always been a pro tank kind of person but no way I am supporting that pathway now after seeing our drafting for the past few years. We would just keep drafting the oldest most "nba ready" or trade away our picks for win now players in order to try to get ourselves out of the lottery and be right back on the treadmill.

Cleveland, Golden State, San Antonio, etc.  Somehow, they ADD to their already talented rosters, while the Hawks.........lmao

Cause those teams know how to make strategic trades and draft well. All we know how to do is draft bust, clear cap space, and make trades for 2nd round picks and backups

Looking for starting job, major minutes and another long  term contract  in the  summer.

Not chasing championship  but rather another contract- he made a business  decision.

Not sure why he wasnt promised major mins here. We dont have any starting caliber SGs or SFs.

I wish he gave us more too, but I'm thinking this is what he is at this point. He's more Draymond Green than Karl Malone. Wish he could board better, but as a two-way role-playing C he's pretty good.

Watching AL get beasted by a no - knee having  Amare last night,  I say AL is more of a glorified Andrea Bargnani.

Slow starts every game. There is no excuse for constantly falling behind in every single game. Bud its time to adjust the starting lineup. If there is nothing you can do do improve the lineup from within then its time to make a move. Doing nothing signals that you are OK with how the team constantly sleepwalks night in and out. Starters are starters because they are supposed to be the best group to get the team off to a good start not dig you in to a hole that the bench has to climb out of.

I wish I would  have this information, because I can't seem to find it again but analytics show that the hawks starting line up has a negative net rating.

  6. Greg Monroe sucks, hes like AL Jefferson. He will put up some attractive box score numbers but doesnt help teams win more games. Any team that are heavy in the  analytics will stay far away from him.

Statistically, the bucks were a much better team when Zaza was the starting center because he did all the little things that Monroe doesnt do such as setting effective screens or boxing out. http://www.sbnation.com/2015/12/2/9837458/zaza-pachulia-mavericks-bucks-breakdown-stats

  7. Do you have any suggestions? There arent any moves we can make they can put us on the CLE/SAS/GSW tier.

We dont have the assets or the talent to make the kind of  moves cleveland made last year that would propel us to elite status. The Horford for Greg Monroe or Teague for Ariza type trades people are suggesting are lateral moves at best.

Nothing short of us getting 2 top 10 players in return would give us any shot against the top tier teams.

I'd still resign him. And look, I understand how you think this parallels the Joe situation but the key difference between both is that Al's team is much closer to the title than Joe's. And even if we didn't resign Joe that offseason, we probably would've been able to make the playoffs considering how weak the east was at that time.

I dont think this team is that much closer to a title than the joe johnson hawks. Our performance in the playoffs was pretty joe johnson hawks esque. We struggled against mediocre 30 and  40 win teams and showed that we didnt belong on the ECF stage against elite competition.

Our performance against the cavs mirrored  the joe johnson hawks whenever we faced a top tier team in the playoffs. Swept and blown out in embarrassing fashion.

  9. Chris Vivlamore: I expect Tiago Splitter deal to be announced today. Hawks gave up rights to international player and heavily protected future 2nd.

Trade, Tiago Splitter, Atlanta Hawks,San Antonio Spurs

    I saw 'heavily protected' and thought whaaat - a 1st - hahaha.

I was alittle worried about what we gave up but we basically got a starting caliber center making under 10 mil for free.

We actually used our cap flexibility to get an asset for once

  10. Well that's the last time I get my hopes up about Johnson coming to the Hawks. I wonder if we've ever truly had an interest in him and vice versa. Still some good options out there so hopefully we get someone in here soon. At this point I'm worried about our shooting off the bench and our wing defense off the bench.

i think we did but staying in the same city and playing in the same building  sounds more enticing than having to move across the country.
