FYI: He did bring it up against two guys more that a few times. I was probably watching more intently the way he played than anyone else, and they brought two guys on the press several times.

I must say, it was awesome seeing Dan go in and perform as well as he did. He set up the offense so well, and the box score does no justice to what he did. It looked like he was holding back and passing it around like a full-blown true PG at first, but then he hit the hole for his driving layup. I was very upset though when he went out for JT, and JT went out and played like sh** to finish the game. I assumed that Stotts was at least somewhat intelligent from a basketball standpoint. Clearly, I have been proven completely wrong by his substitution choices tonight.

Well said, Jay. The only way that anyone can find out if Dan has the potential to do well is through game play. Practice can only tell you so much, and that is very little. He needs to get into some of these games. Vaughn has been doing very little for this team lately. He's playing a lot of minutes and returning very few stats. He may do the litle things, like setting up the offense, but he does little else. Dan actually plays the way this team needs the PG to play, and from what I've gathered and seen, works harder than anyone else on this team to get better at what he does. Dan is fighting for his NBA future as much as Stotts is for his, but since Stotts is the coach, he wins. Obviously, what is being done now isn't working, or we'd be at least near .500. Dan made an impact in the Detroit game, and because of Stotts' gnat-like memory, he's played a grand total of 57 seconds since. If the current setup isn't working, why not give Dan a try??? Maybe he can do something! What could it hurt?? We lose another game?? It's inevitable anyway!! I hate to say it, but it is. The Hawks need to give Dan a chance, and maybe when they do, they'll look smart for the first time this season.

Dolfan, that's a very interesting scenario, and it very well could be a thought in the Hawks' minds. Even though Dan had the injury last year, his increased playing time didn't come until down the stretch, long after the trade deadline. I think that it could be that the Hawks realize that putting him in would showcase way too much of his talent, and other teams would want him just for the chance. Dan is way too good to be sitting on the bench like he is right now. He could do so much for this team, but Stotts won't let him. So, maybe it's just my wishful thinking, but this very well could be the reason. I can't, and don't want to, believe that they would intentionally just ignore his talent and let it go to waste.

I'd just like to point out that although Alan Henderson originally was out because he was with his mother, he is not on the Hawks injury report because of a back sprain. He is listed as out, not day-to-day, so it may not be too good.

The day is mine! He finally is given somewhat of a chance to prove himself, and he plays very well! Seeing him knock down that three was the highlight of my season thus far. We played well all around as a team, and some players got to prove themselves because of the abscences of others. Hopefully Stotts will give Dan some more looks soon.

Ok, you got me, and you didn't get me. Fisher had two points on a layup. He also had three points from the line. I don't believe there's much Dickau could have done about those three.

As a matter of fact, it must have been. Fisher did not score when Dickau was defending him. Trust me, I was watching.

Actually, he ran the offense fine, thank you. He had one turnover: when he was forced to step out of bounds. He didn't throw the ball away once. He moved the ball around, and got everyone involved in the setup. He missed one near-three-point-range jumper with a guy in his face, and the other rimmed out, as I recall. On defense, Derek Fisher (who was the Lakers' starting PG until Payton came) didn't score on him once. Actually, Dickau strongly contested 2-3 shots, at least, of which Fisher missed each one. But, say what you want.

Dan was actually staying pretty much around the perimeter... Nazr had about 3-4 shots that he was double covered and he could have passed out to Dickau, because Fisher played well off of him, but of course, Nazr took it up, and it didn't work. Needless to say, I wasn't surprised. Upset, but not surprised.

Absolutely. With the way everything has gone, that very well could be what he's telling the press right now.

At least Dickau gave some effort. He tried to set up the offense. He was trying to pass off so that he could get accustomed to some of the plays. He hit the hole perfectly on his layup. I actually thought he played well. But that's just me. I know I'm a biased fan, and no one may back me up, but I think he looked good for not having seen the floor in a while. P.S. Good one Play!

Over the last three weeks, was anyone at a Hawks game where they did an on-court contest during the game? While I was on break from Georgia Tech, I got a message on my machine from sometime during break that said I had won the "Mystery Hawk" TV contest one night and that I was invited to be in this on-court contest the next night. Needless to say, I was quite upset. So, does anyone know what the contest was maybe? I'd like to know what I missed out on. P.S. The mystery Hawk was Dickau (go figure...)

Yeah, that sounds about right. I just hope that with JT out and JV in foul trouble, the boy gets some PT.

Ok, JT's out and Vaughn has 3 fouls with 2 minutes to go, but Stotts still refuses to put Dickau in!!!! What is wrong with this coach?!? He could have put Dan in for these two minutes with some first stringers just to get JV off the floor, but no!!! And it's not like it was a size thing, either, because Boykins was in at PG for Denver. Maybe Stotts didn't think Dan was fast enough, but he's not getting any better sitting on the bench.

I'm trying to figure out where all of these rebounds are coming from! He had 5 tonight, and had 4 a few games ago. His career high was 3 entering this year. Who knows. I just want to see him play. Seeing a few starts would be awesome too. Also, I've met him a few times, and I just hope he doesn't get all big-headed and forget who I am if he gets a chance to play.

I'm currently in Ohio, so I can't get the Hawks games. So I need to know: how did Dickau look against the Hornets? I saw that he had 6 points in 17 minutes. I just caught the highlights on SportsCenter, and it looked like he was running his a** off. A time or two, he appeared to be the only one trying. I saw him go to the floor once. From what I've heard and seen, he played well. Should he be getting more PT? I know my biased opinion is yes, but what do you think? Also, and I'm not certain at all about this, but he looked like he limped once with about 1 minute to go in the one clip. Did it look like he got hurt?? I think it may have just been a weird step/jump thing, but I'm not sure. It didn't seem like he got hurt. Thanks for the help!

Blunt, you're right. I think Dickau and Glover would be the best option. Vaughn's minutes need to go down. He's getting assists, but he's also passing up a lot of open shots. While passing off is getting him these assists, it also costs us about 6-8 points per game when he passes up an wide open shot to get an assist, and the other guy misses. Dickau and Glover did play quite well with each other in the summer league, and their chemistry helped the whole team do well. Had Dickau not had the achilles tendinitis, Vaughn wouldn't be here and DD and JT would probably be splitting time 20 minutes to 28 minutes, respectively. Let Dan play. I know he's better than Vaughn. He just needs to look. Sometimes I doubt Stotts can see that far down the bench, though.

Yes. So do I... No, seriously. I think he could definitely do some things. He is definitely a little small, but look at JV! Stotts treats him like his own son! If we can do the mini-me backcourt with JT/JV, why not DD/JT? I think it might even work better, because of Dan's ability to score.

Excellent. My day is coming... I didn't get to see the game. I just assumed they messed up the box score when I saw JT and theo on the bench. Really threw me off. P.S. Anyone who watched- how well did Dickau play? I saw he got 11 minutes.

Just to follow up... I wasn't one of those ready to give JV the starting job. I've never thought that he was doing anything special. Actually, I believe I said something to the effect of "there are many PGs out there that could do the same job JV is doing." The only reason Vaughn is playing so much is because Stotts has never been a real fan of Dickau (Dan's really an afterthought to him) and Vaughn is an a** kisser. It's fairly evident. He gave Belkin the game ball that one game and when the team huddles up, he's gets so close to Stotts he might as well be on his shoulders. Stotts, and much of the Hawks organization now, is unwilling to admit that his coaching decisions for the lineup are failures. He refuses to make changes at risk of looking foolish. Vaughn may put out some energy when he hits the floor, but not much else.
