  1. Goodness, lay off. Obviously, you have no clue. You're comparing Dickau to veteran players. No, I'd assume that he wouldn't be as good as someone with 4-5 years experience. That's just common sense. I'd also say that he may have been hampered a bit by a knee injury. Such an injury tends to hold a player back. At least he made the effort of working hard to play out last season and do well this year. Throw out last year. I can't wait to see how stupid you look at the end of the year. P.S. Vick's injured. For the next 5 weeks, he's worthless. Who knows if he'll come back at the same level?
  2. You know, you're right. In his senior year, Dickau only shot 45.7% from three point range. I believe he was tenth in the nation. Yeah, youre right. He should be ashamed from even trying to make an NBA roster.
  3. Hey, Laimbeer was a pretty big part of the Pistons in the late 80's... also, you didn't say how long ago. Now, you say the last 10 years, and you've got me. But the facts are right there. "American white guys" have definitely had their time in the sun.
  4. Hmm... over history? I can only think of a few... Jerry West, John Havlicek, Bill Walton, Dave DeBusschere, Dave Cowens, Billy Cunningham, Rick Barry, Pete Maravich, Bill Laimbeer... the list goes on. I'd take any one of them any day. Oh, and I'm pretty sure that all except one of them (Maravich, but he was the whole team) was the #1 or 2 guy on a championship team!
  5. The Hawks seem pretty upset about this, now that they actually have to do some serious dealing. This from Hawks.com: "On the afternoon of September 11, we received notification from the Utah Jazz indicating a contract offer had been extended to restricted free agent guard Jason Terry. We fully intend to consider the terms of the deal over the next 15 days, and while this process develops, we will not make any public comments regarding this matter." Get on the ball. Otherwise, I'm going to be really happy, for what could be imminent...
  6. So, have there been any good questions yet? Or do the questions seem hand-picked?
  7. If a question about Dan Dickau is addressed during the show, is there any way that someone here could post the question(s) and Coach Stotts' reply? I would really appreciate it. We have satellite, so I don't get CSS.
  8. Yeah, I meant the pic on the right. I'm well aware of who the pic on the left is. Also, I wasn't looking at who had the ball on the right pic. Now I see who it is. Sorry.
  9. Yeah, I know that your comparison was between Dickau and Nash, who did have strikingly similar rookie years. I was simply putting these stats out there because I was curious myself, and I had yet to see them on here. So, I was really just hoping that this could help people think before they say who's better. Also, thanks for the Dickau/Nash stats. P.S. KB21, is the pic on the left Nash?
  10. Am I at the right board? I could have sworn that I saw someone other than me say that Dickau has potential! If we compare Dickau to Vaughn per 48 minutes, this is the outcome: (PER 48 MINUTES) Points: -DD- 17.2 -JV- 13.4 Rebounds: -DD- 4.2 -JV- 3.4 Assists: -DD- 7.9 -JV- 6.6 Steals: -JV- 1.8 -DD-1.3 Turnovers- -JV- 2.8 -DD- 4.9 Ast:TO- -JV- 2.4:1 -DD- 1.6:1 Yes, Vaughn holds the edge in Turnovers and Ast:TO, but I think many people here, whether they want to or not, will agree that the difference is at least in part a result of the college to pro transition. He also has .5 more steals per 48, but that is arbitrary. Take it or leave it, but these stats are at the very least comparable.
  11. Jacque Vaughn!!! Which is a surprise to no one here, considering the info we received earlier. So, who's up for SNT-ing JT?
  12. Hey, I'll take anything to get my mind off of what we're doing (or not doing) this summer. And it's a little heartless to be calling for the fate of a player. It's kinda sick. P.S. It's D-i-c-k-a-u. Even if you don't really care, LEARN IT!!!
  13. Yeah, I know you're not the only one complaining. The year hasn't even started yet, and not only are we not happy, neither are the players.
  14. So if you're so tired of it, why do you keep coming back and telling us about it? I'm pretty sure that many of us don't really care.
  15. Would make the best movie star? Alan Henderson Would make the best rapper? Jason Terry Would make the best soccer player? Boris Diaw (hey, he is from Europe) Would make the best football player? Travis Hansen Would make the best baseball player? Chris Crawford Would make the best hockey player? Dan Dickau (he's the closest thing we have to a Canadian) Would make the best television commentator? also Dan Dickau (he did major in braodcasting at Gonzaga) Would make the best coach? Shareef Abdur-Rahim
  16. Hey, at least Dickau fans try to be positive. We don't come on here and do nothing but b**ch and complain. It gets a little ridiculous. Also, it's ok to be a fan of one player. It beats worrying about 12 guys.
  17. Yeah, and I definitely realize that. While it would work against a few teams from the East, it wouldn't always work.
  18. It would make my year if they started Dickau and Terry. I know he's raw, like the article says, but Dan is more NBA experienced than Diaw, and it will give Boris time to develop, rather than throwing him right into an unfamiliar situation. I know he's been in the French league, and he's participated in International competition, but that and the NBA are very different, as evidenced by the U.S.'s performance with good players in that one tourney last year. Also, I think that giving Dickau a shot at starting a few games will give him a boost by raising his confidence.
  19. FYI- Dan Dickau can shoot. Probably better than half the team (which isn't saying much). Any calibur player needs 2-3 years to adjust. Don't call him out because he is unproven, to either the good or poor side, thus far. Just thought that I'd get involved.
  20. Kinda missed the boat on this one anyway. Sura was traded to Detroit today for Cliff Robinson and Pepe Sanchez.
  21. The trade officially went through today, staying the same except for the fact that the Mavs have also sent Antoine Rigadeau to the Warriors.
  22. Warriors get: Nick Van Exel Avery Johnson Evan Eschmeyer Popeye Jones Mavs get: Antawn Jamison Jiri Welsch Chris Mills Danny Fortson The trade cannot be officially approved until NBA offices open Monday, but two newspapers and ESPN report that this deal is true.
  23. Thanks for the backup, dimes4life. And I'm sorry if it seemed like I was citing examples from specific people, but I wasn't trying to.
  24. Well, I've had enough... Give a guy a chance for goodness sake. He knows he didn't play well enough last year. He doesn't need everyone and their brother telling him what he already knows. You're all concerned with now, now, now... let him develop! He got injured, couldn't contribute for 20 some games, and then did well most of the time when he came back. No, the stats weren't there, but how can they be when you're only getting 10 minutes of mop-up time a night? Don't make him the scapegoat for the Hawks troubles. He wasn't in long enough to ruin things for them. Want something to be upset about? Come on here and complain when JT shoots 4-15 two or three nights in a row!!! Don't be all, "oh, he must be a little off. It's ok. He's JT!" If Dan did that, you'd be saying "throw him off the team!!! He's a scrub! Worthless! Can't believe we even tried with him." Well, when he gets it together, and shows everyone what a player he really is, many of you will feel like idiots for doubting. And you should.
  25. Well, now that the summer league has concluded, and with the Hawks finishing 3-3, who do you think is deserving of the MVP tag for the past week? Make sure to give a short explanation as to why you think so.
