  1. We brought Vaughn in because Dickau had been injured twice in two years and we wanted someone to be here if it happened again. That said, he's not injured now, so why doesn't he play? JV has been nearly worthless in the last few games, but Stotts keeps playing him. Why? DD can only get worse by not playing. You absolutely have to have game experience to survive in this league. Terry Stotts is singlehandedly ruining Dickau's career at the present. Young players have to get experience, or they will never amount to anything. There are very few people who know how good DD can be, because they've never seen him play! That said, here is the scenario I'd like to see RIGHT NOW: Lineup: Diaw/JT/SJax/Reef/Theo Subs: Mohammed splits time with Theo almost evenly. Nazr even starts a few over Theo. When SJax comes out, Diaw moves to SF, and Dickau comes in at PG. Vaughn makes an occasional appearence (like when we need to miss a few shots). Glover and Hansen come off the bench for JT (or Diaw at SG) for around 15 minutes per game. When Reef gets tired, we bring in Hendu (when he gets off IR), Nailon, or "The Human Injury," Chris Crawford. That's how it should be. We need to mix things up. The only thing Stotts is doing by keeping things exactly the same every game is setting us up for even more failure.
  2. I agree with Play... (ahem...) I know that Dickau was in against backups, but he was also playing with second stringers. Compare JT and JV's stats to DD's... JT: 19 min, 2 pts, 1-6 shooting, 1 reb, 0 ast, 0 stl, 1 foul, 4 TO JV: 15 min, 2 pts, 1-3 shooting, 1 reb, 1 ast, 0 stl, 1 foul, 2 TO DD: 19 min, 2 pts, 1-6 shooting, 4 reb, 2 ast, 0 stl, 2 foul, 2 TO I'm confident that Dickau's shooting % would have been better if he had gotten more playing time up to this point. I'm not saying that Dan is better than JT and JV(nor would I think that to myself at this point). I'm just saying that he deserves a look, too, the way that Vaughn is currently.
  3. He said JT spoke like ghetto trash... he didn't call him ghetto trash. You don't have to be one to do the other. Had he called him ghetto trash, that would have bothered me. He didn't say it made JT less of a person, either... just that it was something he shouldn't do. JT was getting torched pretty badly, and talking trash would look pretty stupid if you were getting throttled. Actually check out what he wrote.
  4. Really, swolehawk. I'd back off of that one. I don't think there's any need for personal attacks.
  5. His arm looks like it's about to explode! Goodness!
  6. I will agree that Hansen played well. Stotts seems to be gaining some confidence in him. However, CC did not play well last night. He didn't move around much, and in his 6 minutes, his only stats were 0-2 shooting, a foul and a TO. He looked just like a player that has played in around 15 games in two years, and he looked really tired when he left the game.
  7. Kasten to Atlanta Spirit is what I saw on the RealGM board.
  8. I do agree that he's not as athletic as he could be. His weaknesses could get exposed. But there's only one way to find out, and Stotts isn't letting that happen!
  9. Whataburger is obviously a burger joint, and they have restaurants in Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Louisiana, Alabama, Mississippi, and Florida (They have a wonderful website).
  10. Glad to have sparked all of this. Doc, you're right. There are plenty of players that aren't blazing by anyone. He's as good as most point guards out there. Stotts just doesn't want to admit it. P.S. Looks like JTFan is feeling a little threatened... Just because your guy's losing PT to his backup doesn't mean you should be trying to bring down other players! Oh, and I can see the comback already... yeah, I already realize Dan has no PT now. I said it for you.
  11. No, Dickau can't beat out Vaughn for that backup job because he hasn't and probably won't be given a chance to do so. Stotts has never been a Dickau fan, probably because he was injured when Stotts took over and he wasn't in his initial plan. Dickau will never get a shot as long as Stotts is the coach and Vaughn is here, because Stotts thinks that JV is the reason we occasionally play well. It's not that we do well when JV is in, it's that JT isn't at the point. DD could play just as well as JV at the point, and probably would. Vaughn's stats this year are no better than Dickau's last year (per 48 minutes), and Vaughn is playing with starters, not the 2nd and 3rd stringers that Dan was in with.
  12. Trust me, it's the same thing that I wonder. This is the very reason I hate Jacque Vaughn. Stotts is in love with JV, and Vaughn kisses a** (giving the game ball to the owner? How could they let him go?!). Hopefully the season isn't completely tanked for DD.
  13. Yes, that's a good idea. Get rid of one player for another in the same, if not a worse, situation.
  14. Yeah, I read and posted that here earlier this week. Just lettin' everyone know that didn't already.
  15. I just checked the nba.com transactions, and Dan Dickau has been activated. It doesn't say who was placed on the IL in his place.
  16. Nevermind, I got it. All I had to do was guess a few times.
  17. Does anyone here get the Nothin' but NetMail newsletter from hawks.com? I am supposed to, but I haven't gotten it for a few weeks. The reason I ask is that I'm trying to get tix off of ticketmaster, and there seems to be a deal for subscribers, but it needs a password. Does anyone have the password?
  18. Also, JT only had 27 points in that game, and he was our high man.
  19. Well, he obviously didn't play them this year, but in last year's finale, he was in for 15 against the Hornets. He had 8 points on 3 of 4 shooting, 2 rebounds, and 1 assist. Not too bad for a little more than a quarter. Also, how can you say that he would fold under the pressure? Is this something that you've seen him do? He came through big in the clutch several times at Gonzaga. Also, I remember him coming in against Golden State last year and bringing the Hawks back to nearly win. And I know that you'll say, "well, we didn't win." No, we didn't. The pass didn't get anywhere near Dan. It's kinda hard to make a play when the ball barely gets inbounds.
  20. Wilks is even smaller than DD. True, had had good games for us, but there are a lot of players that can put up stats if they're given a higher amount of minutes. And cut Dickau? Why? The coaches didn't give him any real shots to show his talent last year, and when they did, he performed well! Last year vs. Dallas, he got 32 minutes, and put up 8 points and 10 assists. He had several double digit scoring games in limited time. It horrible to let someone go before you know what they can do for you. P.S. (Even though I'm sure he had already done it in the game, it looks like JV was making sure he had a solid spot on the team by giving the game ball to Belkin. Just a thought.)
  21. Out of those four, only Crawford and Hansen currently suit up. I think we know why CC doesn't play, and Hansen is still a second round rookie in the eyes of the coaching staff. Hendu is day-to-day with a back injury, and Dickau is on the IL, but is supposedly coming off during the west coast swing.
  22. I'm a freshman at GT, so I'm up for having someone to go to the library... I mean a Hawks game... with (sorry... same number of people). Sounds great. I wouldn't be able to go until after the 29th of December probably, though. Any weekend after that is pretty much good.
  23. I'd have to say it has to do with the fact that he is worthless. He does nothing on the court but get floorburns. Agressiveness can only take you so far. Not far enough for CC.
  24. As would I. I'm upset about the whole IL thing, because this could have been his chance to play for a considerable amount of time. Hopefully he's back soon.
  25. I walked in around halftime, and I'm sorry, but Jacque Vaughn looked horrible. He just plain sucked. He did a poor job of handling the ball, he fired up erratic shots, and just looked lost. It's a good thing that JT finally got it going, because having JV in is something that the Hawks should try to avoid at all costs. I hope he's cut when Dickau comes off IL.
