  1. Oh yeah, I forgot the number #6 & #14 picks from 1994: Sharone Wright and Yinka Dare. Anyone heard from them in the last 3 years???
  2. What about Nickoloz Tskitishvili and Bostjan Nachbar from last year's draft? And who can live without the #17 pick in the 1985 draft- Uwe Blab.
  3. I'm watching ESPNEWS, and Andy Katz just said that the deal between the Warriors and Hawks is still a good possibility. I didn't catch it all, but something about Reece Gaines, and that if the deal didn't go through, that he would help to keep Arenas around, or replace him if he were to go. Sounds like we could end up with Reece Gaines. What do you guys think of that?
  4. Yeah, it's ok to be a fan, even if it is only for one player... I mean, I'm a huge Dickau fan because he works his butt off and puts forth a ton of effort. And also so that when he's awesome, I can say, "told you so."
  5. How about the "greatest center who ever lived," Sam Bowie. He may have been the most eloquent speaker in the NBA, but the only reason he had so much time to talk was because he was injured so much.
  6. Have we brought in Brian Cook or Anderson Varejao?
  7. Yeah, sorry about that. I knew that he was a second rounder, but forgot that he went in '99. Thanks for the correction.
  8. Wasn't Emanuel Ginobili still available at #37?
  9. I don't think that I saw NVE pass once in the last Dallas game I watched. I'd much rather have Finley, who can create and knows that passing is legal. And thanks to Dolfan23, who actually didn't put Dickau in a trade.
  10. As a matter of fact, I just finished a French course, and I do know some.
  11. I absolutely agree that Dog will probably go first. My only thing is that when the new owner comes in, he'll try to build around Reef, because he's our biggest talent. We know that he can produce, and sometimes when a trade with a team's star is made, one team gets the short end of the stick. With our luck, that will be us. I think we should hold on to Reef. So, my top three gone are: 1. Dog- I think we all know why. 2. JT- a lot of teams want a run-and-shoot PG. Here you go. 3. Nazr- He'll probably get put in a deal to pick up a strong backup. Especially if a trade is made beofre the draft, throwing him in could get us to move up several spots.
  12. Who do you think are the three Hawks players most on the hot seat to be involved in a trade in the upcoming months? I see all of the draft proposals here, but I want to know who you think might actually be gone when the season starts.
  13. We could go after Slovenian National player Alexsander Vujacic. He's apparently looking for a first-round guarantee, but that could be worked around if we didn't want to chance the 21st pick on him (try to use the second rounder). He's a 6-6 PG, and I've heard that he is really good at seeing things develop on the court.
  14. Yes, I know that their games are very similar, but Ridnour got more experience with playing against bigger, stronger players in the Pac-10 than Dickau had in the WCC, had close to the same stats, and he took the Ducks to the Elite Eight. I'm not saying that he's the best choice, but he could be OK compared to what's left.
  15. If Luke Ridnour continues to drop, we could have a shot at him. He would be a great backcourt presence for us, because he's a natural PG, but he has the shot to play the 2.
  16. Sorry if I was a little vague, Diesel, but I was saying that Hakeem was the trade filler. Sorry, for the confusion.
  17. I know that he's probably only thrown in for the salary aspect, but the deal probably wouldn't go through because prior to this season, Hakeem tried to get cleared to play, but failed his physical. This would certainly hinder the trade.
  18. Well compared to Dickau, it's obvious that people here want him gone more than Henderson. Like I said, there are a few "fans" here that are too worried about the here-and-now, and can't wait a year to see team chemistry develop. If you change around the elements of a team every few months, no one gets used to anyone else, and they look like a 7th grade team against the powers of the NBA. It's clear that the view of success with some is hazy, because if it was, you'd want to keep around players with potential. Dickau's career is starting like several other very good guards' did. Give it time. And if it seems like I'm standing up for him- good call. That's why I'm here. P.S.- It's hard to keep the offense going when you're on the floor with the likes of Darvin Ham and Jermaine Jackson. That'd be a challenge for John Stockton.
  19. If you think that Dickau lacks quickness, what words do you use to describe players like Darvin Ham and Alan Henderson? And they had no excuse to be so slow! I don't see anyone here itching to get rid of them! Most people here have no patience. Sometimes you have to wait a year or so for a player to get great. Just because he didn't average 20 points per doesn't mean that he sucks. You have to remember: he barely averaged 10 minutes per, and most of that was mop up time.
  20. Didn't you see Dickau in college? He's actually quite a bit faster than he looked last season. Knee surgery tends to slow you down a little bit, especially when it takes away more than half of your developmental time.
  21. I was just watching ESPNEWS, and Ric Bucher was on. He was taking about the NBA coaching vacancies, and when the Hawks came up, he said that the new ownership is having financial difficulties. If the sale goes through, he says that Mike Dunleavy is going to be in Atlanta. If ownership stays the same, Stotts will most likely stay onboard. The only mention of Mike Fratello was that if New Orleans can get up enough money, he'll go there. If not, he's staying in the booth. No talk of him in Atlanta. Sounds fun.
  22. Thank you, Jaywalker, for saying that Dickau can develop. There are more than a few people, that for some reason, can't wait to get him out of Atlanta. Dan's going to get better. I know it. Hopefully other people will start to see that. If he's given a chance to actually play a full season, he can prove everybody wrong.
  23. Yeah, I know... I'm real broken up about it, too.
  24. This year, Billy Knight's going to be making the picks for the Hawks. He will absolutely do a better job that Babcock did. Knight probably will not only view this draft as a chance to upgrade the Hawks, but it could very well be like an interview for him. With new ownership coming in, no ones job is safe. If Billy Knight shows that he knows what he's doing and makes solid picks (no one like Priest Lauderdale!), he could be here all year. Also, if he picks up an effective SF, we can ship off Dog, and that would have to look good to any sane NBA fan.
  25. Which current player has the most potential to impact the future of the Hawks (2-3 years down the line)? Only pick someone if you think they'll actually be here next year.
