  1. Yep, good enough right now to be a third Center on this team. Leaving him over there makes no sense, since we can't get a big in FA.

Agreed. Id take him over Petro, Collins, or the rest of those scrubs that are still available, RIGHT NOW. I d give him some min's that's for sure. He might get pushed around a bit at 1st, but who doesn't? We only need him to block/alter shots, rebound, run the floor, get some putbacks etc..... And he can do all of that today. No need to send him oversees imo. Let him learn from the best.
  2. I mean for real, how could you not like this guy? This guy is slowly going to fill the void in my heart that Zaza left behind. And for a fraction of the cost I might add.

Not to mention he can stroke it , and has great hands. Unlike the before mentioned. I say we got a better and cheaper Zaza. lol. Btw, only the BEST players overseas make the Olympiacos roster. So don't let his numbers fool you. Will be a good role player for us imo.

  3. I agree, I am not one of those who want to be in the dregs of the lottery praying for a player to pan out. I'd rather take the Pacers strategy of drafting after the 10th pick and drafting smartly. I think we've done that the past 2 years taking 2 guys with star potential in Nogueira and Schröder and a guy who should be a good starter in Jenkins plus a couple of solid fringe starter-role players in Scott and Muscala. We've probably done better in these 2 drafts alone than Babcock did his entire time as the Hawks GM.

Agreed. I just cant understand the hate. If DF traded for LBJ and KD, some of these fools would say we gave up too much. Guarantee it. lol.

  4. I agree that for all intents and purposes the Lakers drafted Kobe.

Ok, so he named 6. lol. My point is you have to draft well AND keep flexibility. Doesn't matter if its in the lottery or not. Tanking and looking for the next MJ or Kobe is just laughable in my opinion. Ever heard of the draft lottery guys? You can tank and still end up with an avg player. Then what? Just keep tanking until LBJ falls into our laps? No owner in their right minds would just keep losing games and money waiting on the next "superstar". Even when you find that "superstar", you still have to have the right pieces around him. Its all about flexibility. Im done arguing with the tanking crew. Not calling you a member. Just sayin.
  5. Kobe was traded to the Lakers on draft day. He was never a part of the Hornets team. Dr. J was musty a guess, I'm not old enough to remember. With all that being said, more teams have drafted key pieces and won than not in the last 25 years.

Drafted and traded are two different things. Who's to say we wont trade up(with all the flexibility we have) into the lottery next year? Whos to say Teague ,Horford, Schröder, Bebe, Jenkins, etc.... wont be key pieces to a championship? smh
  6. Outside of Duncan the Spurs were built through mid and late round picks. How is that different then us? Horford(3rd)Schröder(mid)Bebe(mid)Musc(late)Cunningham(trade/later round)Jenkins(mid-late)Scott(late) All those players could really become something in this league. People can say that these guys are crap and wont win us anything, but how can we know? Theyre all rookies/2nd year guys outside of Horford. Who is to say 3-4 years from now SchröderJenkinsScottHorfordBebe wont be equal talent level to the Spurs?

The Anti DF crew that's who.
  7. Dirk, Kobe, Tim Duncan, Michael Jordan, Hakeem, Bird, Magic, Dr. J (can't remember if he was drafted or just joined the 76ers after the merger) basically almost every team that's won a ship in the last 30 years drafted their stars.

Charlotte drafted Kobe. And Dr J was drafted by Milwaukee. So you're back down to 5. lol
  8. What? EVERY team had a "worthless" season last year, except Miami. If you look at it like that. Hell, according to you, the Braves and Falcons have been having "worthless" seasons for years. Have you stopped being a Braves and Falcons fan too? smmfh.Btw, this past season was a blast, because I knew it would be Josh's and LD's last.

  9. I don't like when the team has a completely worthless season like the Hawks had last year and will have this year. Many are obviously fine with having a season like we just saw. It makes no sense to me.

  10. That second team would beat the starters on some nights. Deep squad overall.

A deep squad that still has tons of flexibility. I just don't understand the DF haters.I guess theyd rather be stuck with Joe, Marvin, Josh, and Uncle Larry. Or still blaming him that Dwight has ALWAYS said that he doesn't want to play in his hometown. Artest just said the same thing last night on NBA TV. He NEVER wanted to olay in NY until now. Which just happens to be his hometown. I know for a fact that PLENTY of NBA players don't want that distraction of living near relatives, friends, etc...... Get over it. smmfgdh. Great Job so far DF.

  11. I think it depends on who we start at SF. If we start Korver then we've got 2 wings who are defensively inadequate skill wise and that's going to put a lot of pressure on our defense. If we start DMC then we could start Korver or Jenkins at SG and be fine. I'm of the opinion that we should start Jenkins regardless so that he can grow. He's clearly a very gifted scorer and he's proven in summer league that he can score very effectively off of cuts and backdoor picks and there will be a lot of that in our new style of offense. I can't wait to see him getting some of those looks that Danny Green consistently gets, but a lot of that will come down to how patient Jeff Teague is with the ball and allowing the offense to work while he's setting the defenders up for the play.

    Agreed. Id goTeague/Jenkins/JYD/Milsap/HorfordShroeder/Lou/Korver/Scott/BrandMuscala/Bebe/Gary Neal?Petro?
  12. The only real strategy to the draft is selecting players in the upper half of it. You don't get to select those players when you make the playoffs. We're making the playoffs...which is the point of this type of move and it should surprise no one.

I said draft well. Doesn't matter when you pick. DF is already drafting better players than BK, and BK had lottery picks every freakin year.
  13. Not to point out the obvious, but, do you think the outcome of that series would be different if Westbrook was not injured?

I doubt it. Memphis was too smart and just too damn tough for OKC imo. Im not bashing the OKC way, but you cant just depend on the draft every year. Gotta remain flexible AND draft well if you want to have a chance. And Ferry has done a damn good job drafting if you ask me. This isn't LA, NY, Miami, etc.... We gotta do it the hard way. Yall need to get over the CP3/Dwight thing. Btw, I cant wait until Teague balls out, and Bynum misses 40-50 games in Cleveland. DF will turn into the best thing since sliced bread.
  14. They were missing some guy named... Westbrook. A top 15 player... laugh your ass off about that.

Who the hell cares? They lost. I still think bashing the Hawks and praising a team that hasn't won anything is laughable. Its year 1 of the process for crying out loud. Youll be hating on OKC as soon as KD leaves town. Good luck getting a "superstar" to go there. Btw, if you think OKC wins the title last year if they wouldve had Westbrook, your're delusional. When they lost Harden the fat lady started writing a new song.
  15. They got the finals didn't they? They're a title contender are they? It's going to be extremely hard to get a player to build around with the way Ferry is doing it. Why couldn't we give it a shot in what is supposed to be a deep drafting class?

Yes they did. LAST YEAR. WHEN HARDEN WAS THERE. THlS YEAR HOWEVER, THEY WERENT FLEXIBLE ENOUGH TO KEEP James. And what happened? They lost to a Memphis team with NO SUPERSTARS. A western Conf final Memphis team that is. lmao
  16. There are lots of PG's as good or better than Teague. That was already covered in another thread though.

That makes 8 mill or less per year? Name em. And Im not talking about rookie contracts if you wanna go there.
