No set plays.....No ball movement and poor inside defense. I'll be very surprised if Nate is coaching after All Star break if the team is below .500

This is completely a coaching issue. There's no offensive philosophy or sets..... Mike Longabardi looks like our next coach.

Im mad at him because it was damn sure noticeable that he put in less effort and pouted when he got benched for not playing well.
Instead of manning up and working harder to get your spot back you shut down and whined and in turn made the team worse. Thats a quitters attitude and i have no interest for that type of player on my team at all. Trae many of times was putting in more effort than him on defense and that should never happen when trae is also putting in the most effort and usage of any guy on our team by a truckload on offense too. Bogi when he was on his 1 or 2 week streak off offense was ok although his defense still being bad was terrible. But when he was on his 2 to 3 weeks straight of 0 offense plus still having bad defense he imo was the worst player on the team during those times.Bogi unhappy, complaining.....what did I miss????

Gallo was the man. Great mid range game. Really crafty around the basket and a better rebounder than I thought. He will be missed. Thank you

Crazy. Let's keep our Hawk talk in house.

This felt like this was going to happen. CC is huge for this series.

What stuck out to me was the fact that the Hawks had 15 assists???. They can NOT start playing ISO ball with the Heat. ....if they do, they will lose. Too much standing around and not enough off ball movement.
I said this after the Cavs game.......and what do you know Coach seems to agree. This team WILL not will a game in this series if the ball movement doesn't improve.

And yeah, traping and doubling are two different defenses. Teams are traping Trae a lot more in the last few weeks, but if the "other's" keeps playing at this level then teams can't afford to trap.

I still don't understand why people assume Luka is better than Trae..... because I've seen no evidence of that. In fact Trae leading the league in total points and assist and with an eastern conference finals appearance proves that he's better than Luka. Trae is the ONLY two way offensive player that you have to game plan for. It's a pick your poison type of deal. Trae is a generational talent.......hell, I'm starting to think that he might be the best player on the planet.
-
This has some truth to it....but it isn't the whole. Trae is a better fit for the city than Luka.

What's so frustrating is that I'm pretty sure that the Hawks themselves just like the entire league knows their defense is horrendous.....but yet there's no sense of urgency on that side of the ball...what is the disconnect????

Again, the Hawks came out flat on D and on offense. This team has an effort and energy problem on both ends if the floor. It's the same ol recipe for disaster....the Hawks attempted 43 3pts while only scoring 60 points in the paint?????....you won't win many games like that.
-
Look what I've found........ it's the truth also .......
Now the Hawks have moved away from the awkwardness in the locker room which is caused by teammates knowing that a player does not want to be there. This means that the team is back on the same page and they are all pulling towards the same goal.
On top of that, the second unit is now more of a team, rather than watching one player trying to increase his trade value, taking away the designated roles that help a team succeed. Delon Wright has been a different player since Reddish was traded.

About Cam.
Whether on purpose or accidental. I think that On Some occasions if Cam wasn't getting treated like "the man" he phoned it in.
When Trae went down with COVID Protocol.
We played Orlando, NY, and Chicago Twice. Cam put fourth great effort... Was a top scorer.
Trae Comes back and we played Cleveland. Cam gives us Nothing.
Cam didn't play vs. PTL (the next game). Trae puts up 56.
Trae didn't play against Sacramento (the next game) and Cam had his best game scoring 36.
The Next two games vs. the Lakers and the Clipps.. Trae played and Cam didnt do anything. Literally 18 minutes of Nothing vs. LAL.
The game after that Cam Sat and then he was traded.
I think it's been understated about Cam's performance. I remember after the Sacramento game, some posters were saying that Trae's game effects Cam's play negatively. And Everybody else's play negatively. You expect in a loss, there will be blame.
However, after considering it more and putting it into some type of perspective, I think if Cam wasn't the starring role, he didn't go hard. Maybe he and Trae had some issue with each other (which may be why he asked for a trade?) But whatever it is...
Since he's been gone.. Even in the losses, we are playing harder.
Great points. I'll do you one better...... look at the playoff run from last season. No Cam we played lights out.... Trae goes down ,Cam comes back and balled...I think you're right.

Nothing a little energy and defense can't cure. I can't help but to feel like Cam was indirectly hurting the team chemistry by wanting out....plus off-season and early season injuries has set back the Hawks rhythm. I agree..... Run it back!!;!!!

We don't need to blow this group up yet. They have to be the average defense they were in the playoffs......which was enough to knock out the Knicks, Sixers and take the world champs to game 6. Like I've said before, Defense and depth will determine how far this team will go.

There's nothing wrong with the Hawks except for the effort they put on defense. Top five offense with a bottom five defense.

Not impressed with Wright or Dieng at all..
They were brought in to help protect the lead the starters build. The Hawks second unit have improved defensively in the two weakest areas last season...the point and at center.

On this four game winning streak the Hawks have dominated the paint, not force three's and played with more energy on defense.....this is the formula for the rest of the year.
