On this four game winning streak the Hawks have dominated the paint, not force three's and played with more energy on defense.....this is the formula for the rest of the year.

No set plays.....No ball movement and poor inside defense. I'll be very surprised if Nate is coaching after All Star break if the team is below .500

Gallo was the man. Great mid range game. Really crafty around the basket and a better rebounder than I thought. He will be missed. Thank you -
Is HFTV on Twitter a Hawksquawker??? The guy says some things that we talk about on the Squawk. Has anyone heard of the guy??

Crazy. Let's keep our Hawk talk in house.

This felt like this was going to happen. CC is huge for this series.

I said this after the Cavs game.......and what do you know Coach seems to agree. This team WILL not will a game in this series if the ball movement doesn't improve.

Official PLAY-IN Game Thread: Hawks at Cavaliers
QuantumHawkz replied to lethalweapon3's topic in Homecourt
What stuck out to me was the fact that the Hawks had 15 assists???. They can NOT start playing ISO ball with the Heat. ....if they do, they will lose. Too much standing around and not enough off ball movement. -
And yeah, traping and doubling are two different defenses. Teams are traping Trae a lot more in the last few weeks, but if the "other's" keeps playing at this level then teams can't afford to trap.
-
I still don't understand why people assume Luka is better than Trae..... because I've seen no evidence of that. In fact Trae leading the league in total points and assist and with an eastern conference finals appearance proves that he's better than Luka. Trae is the ONLY two way offensive player that you have to game plan for. It's a pick your poison type of deal. Trae is a generational talent.......hell, I'm starting to think that he might be the best player on the planet.
-
This has some truth to it....but it isn't the whole. Trae is a better fit for the city than Luka.
-
What's so frustrating is that I'm pretty sure that the Hawks themselves just like the entire league knows their defense is horrendous.....but yet there's no sense of urgency on that side of the ball...what is the disconnect????
-
Again, the Hawks came out flat on D and on offense. This team has an effort and energy problem on both ends if the floor. It's the same ol recipe for disaster....the Hawks attempted 43 3pts while only scoring 60 points in the paint?????....you won't win many games like that.

Look what I've found........ it's the truth also ....... Now the Hawks have moved away from the awkwardness in the locker room which is caused by teammates knowing that a player does not want to be there. This means that the team is back on the same page and they are all pulling towards the same goal. On top of that, the second unit is now more of a team, rather than watching one player trying to increase his trade value, taking away the designated roles that help a team succeed. Delon Wright has been a different player since Reddish was traded.

Great points. I'll do you one better...... look at the playoff run from last season. No Cam we played lights out.... Trae goes down ,Cam comes back and balled...I think you're right.
-
Nothing a little energy and defense can't cure. I can't help but to feel like Cam was indirectly hurting the team chemistry by wanting out....plus off-season and early season injuries has set back the Hawks rhythm. I agree..... Run it back!!;!!!
-
We don't need to blow this group up yet. They have to be the average defense they were in the playoffs......which was enough to knock out the Knicks, Sixers and take the world champs to game 6. Like I've said before, Defense and depth will determine how far this team will go.
-
They were brought in to help protect the lead the starters build. The Hawks second unit have improved defensively in the two weakest areas last season...the point and at center.
