  1. This is a big game for us. Not only is it on ESPN, but it's a good way to measure us as a playoff team going aginst another playoff team. If we bring the same energy on D like we did in Golden state ,then i see no reason why we can't win. GO HAWKZ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  2. "I felt that we really made an effort to contest and challenge every shot. It's a little frustrating for me, because I wish that we played like this all the time. I hope there's no looking back now. We saw how we can play. Now we have to be able to keep it up."

-- Al Horford on the Hawks' defensive performance. "I'm not concerned about whether he makes or misses shots. . . . The biggest threat [from] him is when he utilizes his speed and his quickness, and when he harasses people defensively. That's two straight games where I've thought he's done a really good job with his energy."

    -- Larry Drew on Teague.

FINALLY, THE -HAWKS -HAS COMEBACK -TO THEIR OLD SELFS!!!!!!!!!( in the rocks vocie) Where has this team been? don't know or care. Iam just glad we're playing like the REAL atlanta hawks. look i know i sound like a broken record, but the facts are the facts. The hawks make up with their lack of size with being HIGHLY ACTIVE AND SCRAPPY ON THE DEFENSIVE END. Keep it up hawks and i see no reason why we can't make it pass the second round. GOOD WIN,BETTER EFFORT!

  3. go%20ahead.gifI like it. It's better then crying about the trade [ which i don't understand, i would've hate to see this board if we did'nt make one] but not only is it good to see, it very true. We can beat anybody in the east with the team we have now. The talent is there, all we have to is be HIGHLY ACTIVE.
  4. :nono: “It’s very disappointing,” said Drew. “I thought our guys…took the path of least resistance the whole game. On offense, we settled and defensively, we didn’t play with physicality. The Lakers got physical and we started turning to the officials.” .....................And that's what i've been saying on hawksquawk since i've got here, we need to be HIGHLY ACTIVE and play with HEART game in threw game out. I know it's the NBA, i know it's 82 games,But these blowouts is redicualous. And all the blowouts have one thing in common, no heart and wasn't highly active.I don't know whats wrong with Josh rite now but when is he going to stop doing the" homerun trount" on defence every time things are going bad? So in closing i just wanna say i bleed hawk red and blue that's why this hurts. But until we become HIGHLY ACTIVE while playing with HEART we can forget about the playoffs, and that make me sad but not sorry. STEP IT UP- GO HAWKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  5. Hawks receive: Stephen Curry, Andris Biedrins, Ekpe Udoh

Warriors receive: Josh Smith, Mike Bibby, Jeff Teague

The Warriors have said that anyone can be traded. Let's see the Hawks prove this statement correct.

Atlanta would receive a star in Curry, who can run the offense for many years to come, and a solid big man in Biedrins.

The Warriors would get an athletic Smith to pair with Monta Ellis, as well as a veteran point guard in Bibby and an up-and-coming guard in Teague.

  6. I think we're posed for a trade.

We are taking up half the space on the trade boards at realgm and we're mentioned foundly on other trade boards. The funny thing is that most of the talk is not about Jamal Crawford.

Do you think that deep down, people believe that we want to keep Jamal?

Marvin has gotten some talk and even JJ.

Right now, other fans see our team as willing to give up. BUT.. We're 34-31. We have a better record than Denver, NO and PTL. We're only a few games off of being one of the best records in the association. Well, maybe not that close, but we're not bad.

But news keeps coming. especially out of Utah. Deron is not staying. It's evident. Would we get into the Deron Sweepstakes??

That's 34- 21, but i feel yea. D-Will will be the answer we need. If we get him i wouldnt care about a center...not now.

  7. Why you ask? With 27 more games to go, 16 of them has a winning record. Trade crawford and a 1st round pick throw in teauge or bibby and get a starting PG.It's time for the hawks to play at the level we all know they can play at,They haven't done it all year. Hawksquawk, the word for the second half of the season is CONSISTENCY, if the hawks can do that and be HIGHLY ACTIVE,then it should have one hell of a playoff run. GO HAWKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  8. Can someone please tell me when did Stoudemire get his " big man that bangs" title? He must still thinks he's playing in the west.Last time i checked he couldnt handle josh" the stat-filler" smith, now he wants to take shoots at a two time national champ? Amare, your team is 0-2 against us.Worry about that toe and not Horford. Dont get me wrong, he's a great player, yes. But is he a physical player, no. Al" the dominican dominator" Horford will do his talking on the hardwood, like always. Can't wait to sink our talons into the knicks. GO HAWKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  9. 15, 8 and some good D. As a starter marvins a 6th option. Off the bench, hes the second option.Remember his stats from 07-08 when he was the 4th option, 15 ppg, 6 reb.Thats what he finished with after we traded for Bibby. But before that he was the 3rd option his stats were 17 ppg, 8 reb. Now the next step is to bench bibby. Let Teague start and see what happens. So the line ups will look like this

    PG-TEAGUE

    SG-JOHNSON

    SF-SMITH

    PF-HORFORDC-COLLINS

The bench would be pg- bibby, sg- crawford, sf- williams,pf- powell, c- zaza. This is good if you ask me because we get the speed and better perimeter D we need from that position.[last time i check and have seen that teague is pretty good at stealing the ball] As for the center position, collins is a good low post defender and has the size we need to bang with the big boys. We really dont need alot of scoring from those position, not with the big three we have in the starting lineup. And with bibby and williams coming off the bench, it gives crawford the scoring help he needs.

  10. Not this year but in the future prolly next.

Yes, they are bottom Feeders, but if you watch them play, they are better coached than us. What they lack in talent, they make up for in coaching and in positional stability. When we had the chance, we were to cheap to go after AJ or Scott. Even though they are feeling pains now, they both had PGs and Cs who can play the game. They will get high draft picks. As I think about us, we have good talent, but we are missing important pieces and we have not developed what we need. It's an interesting world we live in. One moment you're on top and the next, everybody has passed you.

COM'ON MAN!.......How can you say that about a playoff team?

  11. I feel yea pain, but who can we get that dose what josh" the stat-filler" smith do? And the fact that he's ower best inside defender on a team with no true center, well we have to sick with him.So to the people that wants Smith gone theres your answer.Get a defending, rebounding, shot blocking center then we might see him gone.otherwise, he's staying. So the next time you see smith put up a boneheaded shot, think of this........It dosent matter what it is in life ,EVERYTHING has its positives and its negatives EVERYTHING.
