Yeah, no sh*t.  That's what happens when you're the ultimate stealth treadmill team that gets a misplaced 'contender' label every year because of what Michael did 45 years ago.

WOW!.....that sounds like what's wrong with the Hawks. I believe that's the major difference between this season and last......The Hawks aren't playing for each other. Even the bench doesn't seem to have the same energy. With all the trade talk going crazy...it can only make matters worse. Teague has played great the last few games, but he's playing like he trying to prove someone wrong. You can clearly see his frustration. Last night during a timeout Darvin Ham was talking to him and Teague didn't even look his way. I've seen that a few times this season but with mostly Bud.....but at least he's playing better. Horford on the other hand just seems lifeless at times. His rebounding average is the lowest of his career. Maybe losing DMC really hurt in more ways then one.

I can understand how you feel but here is the question, we are fundamental broken right now and I know that we need rebounding help and get a lot younger, so how we are going to do that?  Changes needs to happen or we are going to be in the treadmill again and it is not a good place to be.

I feel you, but I don't feel trading players now will help anything. I say just wait til the off season to make any moves.

  3. We have something building in Atlanta. Why tear it down? I completely agree that this team has been underperforming based upon last year incredible run, but I still believe that this team CAN make it to the ECF. The question is do they want it bad enough?.  I truly believe that this team is suffering from "championship" hangover. That's how well last year went for the home team. I'm all for trade's and improving the team, but like Gray said" for who and for what price"?. IMO the Hawks lost that "killer focus" that made history. Our defense has been poor and we don't have a constant 3pt threat(DMC)to pair up with Korver. Which means we can't spread the floor like last season. So if you wanna beat  the Hawks, lockdown the paint....cause a jump shooting team with with rebound problems will always beat them selves. IMO keep the band together, and let's see how far we can go.

So far, we're on 3 Head Coaches and 4 Gms that don't want to put Al at PF full time.   I think that says a lot.

That's true. Maybe they thought his game isn't versatile enough to be a PF...or maybe the team is still stuck on the Billy Knight philosophy.... I don't know. What I do know is that if Al would use his quickness and was more aggressive, we wouldn't have this conversation.

41.7% of it was the three ball with Teague, and someone did say that they were not respecting his jumper, exactly what I was saying elsewhere. Either one of the PGs finds a jumper, or both of them go bye bye.

He has a decent three point shot, even around 35% is fine, and yet people don't respect it. Why? He doesn't make people respect it.

Not to mention that Barea is maybe 5'10"...maybe.

    Exactly.

  6. It was a bad deal all the way around. Can't blame Bud for the way the team is performing. You can tell he's not pleased with the lack of effort on both ends. Just watching the games from home I can see that. Those timeouts are something else. Most times he's frustration is aimed at Teague.....the way he looks at Teague sometimes is just crazy.

I think we need to get to 50 wins if we want to have a shot a making some serious playoff noise. To do this, we need to go 23-11 the rest of the way. I think if we can do this, we will get the #3 seed and a good chance to win round one and face the Raptors in round 2.

LETS START TODAY!!!! A little pre all star push...COMON guys!!!!

I like your positive attitude. I'm with you, cause I feel like this team is now getting on track.

  8. I think Teague being aggressive is the key factor to this team doing well. Korver going off just helps teams play scramble defense. This team plays at it's best when points in the paint are high and we have at least 25 or more team assist....cause when that happens we get open three point shots, which has a better chance of falling. Korver is a major factor to our team, but this team goes how Teague plays.

And THATS why Cleveland swept the Hawks in the playoffs last season.  Cleveland made moves last season to acquire Shumpert and Smith, to overcome the Hawks. They knew they needed perimeter shooting and perimeter defense to do that. Yes, the Hawks FORCED Cleveland to address them.

This season, after getting mauled by San Antonio and Golden State, Cleveland fires their head coach and has Mosgov and Love on the trading blocks.    The Hawks get mauled by San Antonio TWICE, and they are doing NOTHING.   Again, you can spread the floor all day long, but if you are not a great shooting team like Golden State, you BETTER be able to rebound, which the Hawks obviously are lacking at.   Cleveland might not beat Golden State in a rematch, but at LEAST they tried to improve their team......

Teams have addressed THEIR shortcomings and made moves to counter what WAS a great Hawks team early last year. Toronto did it. New York did it. The Hawks scared the hell out of the Eastern Conference last year. I hate the fact that THEY will not counter anybody. Another wasted season gonna go down the drain with this bunch.

I heard Cleveland's general manager say its about championships with them. Again, i have YET to hear ANYBODY out of Hawks ownership or front office say anything about winning chips. If they have, they not showing it.

I see what your saying, but it's your view. Cavs are under more pressure than the Hawks to win due to Lames. We have a system in place. The Hawks just can't trade for anyone a SEE if they fit midway into the season. How many times have the Spurs made mid season moves? How many times have the Hawks made midseason moves with Bud at the helm?.....none. So I don't think the Hawks are not trying to win a championship, I just think there's not the right players and time to grasp the system in time to be effective to make the trade worth it.

I feel somewhat bad about my last thread now. Honestly I just thought Teague turned back to his old ways but if he's putting it out there on national media that his ankle has slowed him down this season I have no choice but to accept that.

i wonder what took him so long to tell every body....even star players admit when they are injured in today's nba. Also I wonder when korver is going to admit his elbow hasn't healed right after surgery?...I've believed that korver has been injured for months now but he's just keeping quite about it I guess similar to Teague.

however I don't feel korver has to say it to the public like Teague does being that Teague has only had one remarkable full season (all star) and korver has never shot this low of a 3pt percentage in his career.

The only reason I can think why he didn't say it publicly is he didn't want teams to play him differently.....which the Sun's did. The sad thing is Teague is shooting 3's at a career high, but teams still don't respect it. His pump fakes are also not effective as they once was.

  11. Teague 's body language is the worst. It looks like he just going through the motions. If Dennis would cut down his turnovers, he'll be the starter. And you would think Horford would be playing hard for a contract. Maybe DMC was the glue of this team when it came to getting them ready to play.
