  1. I watched bogut play and wss impressive having remarkable passing ability,he rebounds, blocks shots and can scoreplus is a 7ft center.Marvin Williams started tov day had 20 ptss and 15 rebounds plus 2 assts. My question is who will be the better pro? Some players can play great in college yet be lost in the NBA due to the fast pace, and more athletic players.I think Bogut will be a fine NBA player but seeing Marvin Williams at least some of the game before CBS cut to another, makes me fill Marvin willaims has a chance to be a special player in the Pros.I know the Hawks need a center more thean power forward but Williams you can not overlook his ability.Given the choice if both are available in the NBA draft and the hawk's have the first pick I have to go with Williams.I know I have liked Bogut so much this year and he would not be a bad choice but Williams seems to have great athletic ability and will make more of a difference in the pros.If the hawks draft bogut I won't be terrbily upset since centers are very hard to find. This happens to be a draft where there are very few ipact franchise players so you take the best player for your club.Trade Harrington if that is what is needed to get Williams.
  2. Scouting Report: Many believe him to be the top player in the nation ... Was on NBA scouts' radar screens before he ever even arrived at Utah ... Widely expected to enter the draft after his sophomore campaign, and a projected lottery selection ... Has incredible hands ... Snatches rebounds like he has Velcro attached to them ... Possesses a dynamic low post game ... Great drop step ... Shoots a high percentage because he can set himself up so well down low with his footwork ... Extremely fluid, he has as much finesse as he does brawn with his back to the bucket ... Possesses excellent touch to complete his execution ... Range extends out to beyond the 3-point arc ... Tremendously gifted passer at 7-0 ... Owns a great feel for the game ... Highly productive shot-blocker, but perhaps not as prolific as one might hope ... Not a run/jump athlete, and prefers to stay at home defensively to keep himself in rebounding position
  3. I want to see the players we have been discussing (Paul,Jack,Bogut,Feldon,Gilchrist,Marvin Williams) how they do in the NCAA playoffs.I question Bogut's competition but in the tournament if Bogut can put big numbers up on some top level teams then he would be hard to pass if the hawk's get a top pick.So far I am impressed with him and I know there have been alot of stiffs that were great players in college but seeing his passing ability, rebounds and ability to score makes me think he will do well in the Eastern conference since there are not many true 7 fters. Also remember last year when the hawks were trying to decide who to pick they invited alot of players to compete with each other so the hawks will get a close up look on how good theses players are.
  4. I would pick development instead of winning now.It basically penalizes the hawk's for winning games now which means a lower draft pick. The Hawk's are not playing for anything so get the best player in the draft you can and do not depend on other teams to take another player and hope your player stays on the board till you pick.Remember last year when teams tanked the season losing games to get a higher draft pick? That made me so mad and the hawk's kept pulling out victories giving them Josh Childresss in the draft. The Hawk's if they would have tanked the season could have ended up with at least Livingston or Okafur.Childress I hope becomes a great player but winning games this year only stunts the growth of the Hawk's.Lose lose lose and get Bogut!
  5. I am talking about 2 to 3 yrs down the road the lineup if it develops like it should could be one of the most exciting in the NBA,it takes awhile for young players to gel but the potential is there.
  6. Is Carlos boozer a free agent? I didn't see his name on the list, maybe I missed it.I do agree with you about Bogut but I can not see Lue as the point guard again. Also Childress and JSmooth no way they are going to be bench players.I wish there was a way to get Redd since he is a great outside shooter and while Childress has a ways to go but could be one of the best in the league.I think it is more feasible to trade Walker for a high teens or low 20's 1st rounder then if needed package Harrington with the no1 maybe the hawks could find a way to get Feldon. Most likely scenario is: JSmooth Harrington Bogut Childress Gilchrist/Jack A team of young developing potential stars that could be playoff bound there first year.I don't think Childress could play small forward for his career if so the lineup would be even more scarier. JSmooth Childress Bogut Redd Gilchrist/Jack Again,I don't think Childress could play small forward for his career but something to think about.
  7. For a player like Robinson averaging 8.5 pts and 2 boards a game to get 2 second round picks for him this is ridculous. The Hawk's need another 1st rounder in this upcoming draft.I don't see why a team won't pony up and give there first rounder in order to advance in the playoffs farther or to just make the playoffs.Walker should get us a high teens or low 20's 1sr rounder.Gilchrist,Jack could be around if we could get another no1.I like Paul but big men that can get double doubles are so hard to find and teams that have them don't let them get away rarely.Bogut would be the player I would want and I think he will do well in the NCAA tournament to raise his stock.A point guard is another must so some how BK must manuever his way to get a Jack or Gilchrist.Could you imagine the lineup! JSmooth Harrington Bogut Childress Gilchrist or Jack That is an exciting team and once they gel will give other teams problems.
  8. I don't think you take any of the guards mentioned at 2 or 3 in the draft unless it is Paul.Until Paul is consistently shut down by bigger guards other than Jack then I still believe Paul will be the top point guard of this class. There are to many iffy big players that they are a few years from doing well in the league.Any player can be a bust in the league but the guards of this draft have more all around game than any of the other players. It is to bad no other team has 2 no1 picks in the top 20 then I would probably trade down.Unless you can get a no1 pick for Walker in top 20 to get jack then draft the best player whether it is Green,Bogut,or Paul.Teams that are successful don't make the wrong pick and I hope BK this time gets the right player or once again it sets the franchise back.
  9. Lets see Dalembert averaging 6.5 pts a game 6.7 boards and 1.5 blk shots average 22 minutes a game. Why? Dalembert has to be in the doghouse in Philly I looked at there roster only Iverson averaging more than 13 pts a game and they don't have anyone averaging 10 rebounds a game.Maybe Philly takes a gamble and lets Dalembert play out his contract but matches the contract keeping him then they go out and sign walker. That would piss me off but I don't think that will happen. As valuable as centers on they probably will sign and trade him holding the team who wants him for alot.I don't know if I would be willing to give up anything for dalembert knowing walker was gone. The Hawks are already rebuilding and philly probably will want some good players for dalembert. Are there any half way decent centers in the second round the hawk's could get as projects? Wasn't Dalembert a second round pick?
  10. Good point however what scares me is paul looks to be the consensus player that people are raving about yet BK may think someone else is better and go for him.Childress was not expected to be drafted as high as the hawk's drafted lets hope BK has some brains to draft the right guy this time.Childress will be a quality player but Deng is more ready plus he gets playing time.
  11. The Hawk's when they beat these sorry teams in the league aren't doing themselves any favors becasue they will get a lesser talent in the draft probably.I want the best selection as possible with no team getting in the way this time like last year.Remember the Hawks wanted the 6-7 point guard from the clip (Livingston) yet teams like the Clippers,Bulls tanked the season just to get a higher pick. The Hawk's need to do the same and play the young guys. Also Wretch, when the NCAA tournament comes and ACC tournament is played I expect Paul to be leading the team to victories. We should see paul at his best then ,then you will see he is a difference maker. Some are suspect about being to small but I can assure you the hawks will bring in all thee guards to play against each other to see who is better.
  12. After keeping the score close for one quarter the true hawk's come out resulting in another blow out for the other team. What is the use of winning against some hapless teams in the league when the Hawk's may again miss out on the first or second pick.Where is Walker if he wants to remain with the Hawk's.The biggest problem is there is no leader on the floor at point guard and the hawk's are a lousy shooting team.Trade Walker and make sure the hawk's lose as many as possible to get Paul or another top player.
  13. 21 pts 7 asst 6 boards for Paul....he was hitting 3 pointers all over the place.Once again with as many problems the hawks have had scoring from the outside Paul would be the point guard I would want. Some wonder if he is another jason terry,no way. This guy looks for the assist,is a good defensive player despite his size and can score from the outside.A perfect fit for the Hawks. The only question I have is how good is the Green kid from the high school ranks? Unless he sky rockets in the draft Paul can do so many things.I don't think there is a big man out there for the hawks at no2 pick. You don't want to draft a big man that has the potential at this point. The Hawk's need a pure basketball player that can play now plus some one fans can come and see to fill the arena.I think if the Hawks drafted paul this year, it will take them one more draft in the top ten for a big man then the hawks are ready with Chill J Smith Harrington ?? big man 2006 draft Paul
  14. 21 pts 7 asst 6 boards for Paul....he was hitting 3 pointers all over the place.Once again with as many problems the hawks have had scoring from the outside Paul would be the point guard I would want. Some wonder if he is another jason terry,no way. This guy looks for the assist,is a good defensive player despite his size and can score from the outside.A perfect fit for the Hawks. 15. I am watching Paul against Cincinnati he is playing well again scoring and assisting and making a big difference on the court. With the Hawk's problems of hitting the outside shot I think Paul is at the forefront of the point guards the Hawk's should draft.I have been torn between Feldon and Paul but seeing paul having the ability to score from the outside I am sold on Paul as the player the hawk's should draft.
  16. The draft is the key to building a winner for years. The teams that do it right get the impact players and do not return to the lottery the teams that do it wrong are there year after year.Right now the Hawks have no superstar at least someone to draw in the fans.Detroit won without a superstar but if you don't have a superstar you better haver a team that has 3 or 4 top players right below superstar status.I wonder what this team will look like next year. Add Felton or Paul with the rest and we still have holes,no center,no shooting and no defense plus Childress will he finally start for good? I would still trade Walker or at least offer him to others to see what the hawks could get.A good point guard can mean alot for the team but there are no big men capable of blocking the shots.Defense, when was the last time the hawks have played it.On the chicago station they were saying about the hawks tonight is there a worse team in the NBA than the Hawks? Are the Hawks the Siberia of the league. That is what I feel like we need impact players and BK needs to make the right decisions getting the right players.
  17. What do you propose to fix the team? As long as I can remember the Hawk's have always had a problem shooting from the outside. The Hawk's have a bunch of parts and no team concept. They pass the ball poorly and play street ball.Do the Hawk's draft Feldon or Paul and will any free agents come? Also the hawk's play poor defense and I don't see a remedy any time soon. When the hawk's build this team they need to look at the players defense ability.
  18. I will be hoping the Hawk's lose only because of a higher lottery selection.I remember last year there were clubs tanking it to get better picks and what the hawk's did was win causing them missing on one of the top 4 picks. No club is going to say they are going for the lotto pick but if your going to have a bad season why not get as high a selection possible to potentially get that superstar your franchise needs? The Hawk's really don't have that face that everyone recognizes that they think of the hawk's like Dominque,Jordan,Duncan.J smooth may be in future but it would really help the franchise to land a top player for attendance and winning.
  19. What if Walker wants the max do you sign him? I would not he has proven he is not a franchise player, someone who can hit the clutch shot.If Walker wants to sign less than the max then I would probably keep him.BK is going to need to make a decision on this soon.
  20. Green sounds like a potential superstar and definitely someone to look at/The question is is he a shooting guard or small forward. Here is an interesting question even though the hawk's need a point guard and center if Green is a so called Mgrady type do you draft him regardless of having Childress and J Smooth? There are some guys you just don't pass on the key is figuring which ones which comes into your scouting department. BK really needs to try to find a way to get another no1 pick.BK needs to see this team, look at the potential of each player and see if they can be a part or an anchor of the team.I mean role player or star very important to know the difference.Harrington I don't think he will be a star therefore if we had to trade him for another no1 and there is a player in the draft that has more potential trade him.Walker probably won't get the hawks alot since he could be a potential free agent. The point is how do the hawk's get another no1? Since free agent superstars are not coming to the hawk's the only way to get them is to draft them.We can look at Detroit last year and see a team that has no top 5 player in the league but as a team they were great.I guess another thing to consdier is if the hawks go along at there current pace can they win without superstars or do they risk taking a high schooler that could be one(Green)?Feldon and Paul look real good and if we draft them the direction of the team seems to be going to having very good players and no superstars.I don't know what BK will do but this rebuilding project does take time and since the hawks have wasted so many years already why not continue to add the right players intead of adding players just to make the playoffs and lose like the old hawk teams did.
  21. Paul got the better of the matchup today, have to wonder if Felton injury took something out of him but Felton still scored 16 pts to Paul's 26. I still have not made up my mind on who is better which is something for us Hawk fans to look for when these teams and the other point guards in the ACC matchup against each other. One other thing remember before the draft the Hawk's brought in the players they thought would be there in the draft when it was there turn the same will be done this year so you could see Felton,Paul,Williams,Gilchrist all playing against each other when the Hawk's bring them in if they go point guard no1 pick.
  22. I know that the Kevin Garnett's of the world are rare and that these comparisions are rarely right but if this kid is incredible talent even though not Garnett's lets see the kid play before he is labeled. It happens to often in sports where the media will say he is the next so and so.Every once in awhile a kid will come along with incredible talent so it will be interesting to see how good this kid is.Some kids take a little longer to develop and you never know all the sudden a kid can come out of nowhere case in point Michael Jordan could not make varsity till junior year of high school.
  23. I know this doesn't involve the Hawk's unless some how they were bad enough next year to get the 1st or 2nd pick but anyone read up on this high school junior Brandon Wright a power forward who they compare to Kevin Garnett. His right up is incredible to bad he can't come out for this draft.Seems like the Hawks always get this kind of luck where there is no superstar when they get a top pick but when they fall back to the pack another team gets one.
  24. Just thought I would send a reminder for those who can catch the game tomorrow's game(Saturday) 1:30 eatern it is North Carolina vs Wake forrest.A chance for Hawk fans to see Chris Paul and the point guard from North Carolina.Lets see if Paul can dominate or disappear vs Feldon and the Tar Heels.I hope someone takes the lead out of all these ACC point guards if the Hawks draft one in the 1st.Seems to be a tossup which ACC point guard is better so tomorrow we may see a good one on one match up.
