I don't get a chance to see alot of hawks games since I live out here in indiana(and I am not a pacer fan) but they have the former NC players(May,Willimas,Feldon etc) showing a picture of them in there new uniforms and marvin has a yellow one on.Man,those yellow forms are ugly.The Hawks need to get something done about this at least go back to the red uni's when dominque played.Who is the bright guy that thought yellow should be the hawks color doesn't know how to market a team.

I don't understand BK's fascination with John Edwards.As Walter mentioned I would have gone after Dwayne jones or Jared Holman.At least sign a guy who has a legit chance in the league even though a prospect.A center who can block shots and score is all we really need but other teams seem to get them not the hawks.

Consdiering this will be a weak draft coming up and that the Hawks probably would get a 15-20 1st rounder plus the hawks are lottery protected why not take chance at Darko.We need a big man desperately.We won't get one next year and if we are bad enough in 2007 then we may get one.I don't see that though since the hawks probably should make the playoffs or finish with a decent record enough to keep them from getting Oden.The free agent crop for bigmen is horrendous why not Darko.There was a reason people though highly of him and since he is getting no playing time will never develop.It doesn't take that much nowadays to be a decent center.Look at what some of the centers want today in terms of money.I would love to have Darko and if he is a bust we tried.It is sitting back waiting for a big man to become available which will never happen because big men are so hard to find that that would be the mistake.Al Harrington will not resign with the Hawks .Get something while you can unless you value a 15-20 pick in a weak draft.

Thanks for saving the Hawks Mr Levenson: Its great to see that the owners care about what the fans think of the basketball team.I think for to long most people in the Untied States don't even think there is a basketball team in Atlanta.Being the laughing stock of the league along with the Clippers gets you thinking here we go again another year where the hawks don't do anything in way of player transactions to get a star player here. The signing of JJ will at least make other free agents consider the Hawks.Most players want the money so I hope the Hawks invest in there players wisely.The pieces are coming together in maybe in another year the Hawks can make a run for a division title.It is supposed to be a weak draft and not very many good free agents.The following year 2007 is a bonanza.Hard to tell where the hawks will be but I feel with the new owners for once the Hawk's are going in the right direction.With a sports craze society there are untapped markets and with a good marketing campagn and bringing exciting young players the rebuilding stage is going the right way.People say the hawks will never draw fans well what about the era when dominque wilkins played I believe the hawks had about full capacity most games.It can be done.Evaluating talent is the most important thing and the hawks are putting some pieces finally together.

It is interesting to here that Joe johnson isn't a point guard.Didn't he play that in college? Wasn't Michael Jordan a point guard for one year with the Bulls but we all think of him as a shooting guard? I know it is michael "Superman" jordan but my point is we all want to categorize players when instead some players can play multiple positions.I expect the hawks to resign lue and next yesr I think we get the point guard we are looking for that is pass first shoot second.Childress needs to play well either to move to small forward or be traded IF JJ can't handle point.Childress can do alot of things well and has a more developed game than Marvin or Smooth but one of them will be moved to power forward.

I say wait it out to the draft to get a pure point guard if JJ doesn't work out as expected.Will deal with Childress,Marvin,Smooth at that time.No Marbury he is selfish,not a good team player looks to shoot the ball to much.Your probably saying JJ does to correct but JJ gets his players more involved.I know Marbury has a decent assist rate but other players that have played with him say he is not a team player at least JJ plays quality defense.

how many off guards and small forwards do we need.Maybe this signing means al is going to be traded?

It is amazing Belkin is getting trashed from almost everyone yet the guy still has guts to contimue fighting his battle.Get a clue Belkin the hawks don't want you just give up!How some people can luck out just because they have money and own a sports franchise without any regard to how well it does is beyond me.Lets get this done so we can get jj in here and move on to other things!

I am wondering if this is a possiblity signing JJ,Curry and Zaza we already have.Do the hawks have enough cap space for JJ and Curry this of course provided the mess with belkin gets cleaned up.I know it is hard getting back to the NBA and talking basketball because of the fiasco Belkin has created but what kind of team would this be: center 1.Curry,ZaZa backup power forward 2.Harrington,Za Za backup small forward 3.Josh Smith,Marvin Williams shooting guard 4.Childress,Joe johnson point guard 5.Joe Johnson,Salim On paper this team is talented.However defense wins championships.If the hawks make the playoffs more than likely a top point guard will not be coming there way in the draft.Also the JJ matter of playing will be cleared up if he can play against small and big guards.Just a simple diversion from the Belkin problem!

Lets hope so,Stern if he wants the hawks to do well will find a way for Belkin not to have ultimate power!Man,it is amazing how one minority owner can screw up a franchise.

Belkin will get no respect form the fans or partners.I don't know why he even bothers to be acting govenor.Stern has got to twist this thing around or the hawks franchise is doomed with cheapskate Belkin.There is a reason we have the most money to spend in free agency.No free agents that are any good want to sign with the hawks.Now that we get an all star wanting to come belkin cries poverty.Does Belkin realize that next year's draft is very weak and that holding on to picks where they will be in the draft won't matter.Mid first rounders will be like top of the 2nd round.Probably not,Belkin has excuse after excuse and if joe johnson does not sign no other free agents will want to either.I am telling you if belkin ruins this franchise because of this if I am a partner one of the other 8 owners he would not live this down.This is going to cost the franchise more money than they dreamed as opposed to just dishing out the money for johnson.I hope the other partners realize this and either remove Belkin's powers but keep him since they can't rid of him or oust him altogether.

I am wondering how belkin who owns 30% of the hawks have more power to control the hawks than the majority other 70%? If we lose JJ because of this there will be alot of pissed people.Stern has to realize this situation with the oweners is making the hawks look bad.Does stern want the hawks to succeed? I agree with everything you guys are saying.Belkin will downplay it saying all this is because he agreed with not giving one draft pick but nope we all know better.Belkin doesn't want to spend the money to do what it takes to be a winner.Partners like him should be kicked out because sports and the reason we follow it is love of the game not money. I hope Belkin is kicked to the curb.I am tired of being patsies and no one paying attention to the Hawk's. I can't see how Belkin can live this down.If he wins there will be pissed off partners and fans alike and the guy will have to wear a bag on his head for fear of retalliation. I wouldn't want to work for a guy like Belkin so I think BK doesn't want to stick around if Belkin wins,who would? I agree! Its all about power,just lets us know this guy would not be here long anyway before we knew he wasn't right.I hate people who are part of sports franchises only buying the team to become richer to heck with the fans.This guy should go invest his money somewhere else not sports franchises.We need owners who love the game!Maybe that is why he could never buy another sports franchise before except I think the Thrashers which there wasn't a lot of competition for.

The draft picks are lottery protected and the chance to get an elite elite prospect is minimal.With the kind of club the hawks are building a protected no1 pick is not alot to be arguing about and besdies come trade deadline this year al will be peddled probably for another protected lottery pick to offset the loss.Belkin for such a rich man sure doesn't know anything about sports!

Belkin doesn't make sense trying to stop this trade.Someone needs to tell him " look fool if we don't give the 2 no1's and diaw we don't get johnson" comprende? Do you know Belkin this would be the first quality star to sign with the hawks in years.Also the organization is at the bottom of the barrel and this is the kind of thing that will set back the franchise having hawk fans and the NBA in general wondering why can't they get there act together.Sounds to me belkin wants to be the rebel of the group. Whether we sign johnson or not clearnly belkin is not on the same page as the rest of the partners and I hope is relieved of his top dog status.

On a side note Lebron was here in indianapolis a friend of mind his wife works near the place where is was eating outside.All the people wanted autographs from him guess he had to have a few bodyguards to get out.Anyway my friend said that Lebron hit on either his wife or another lady that works in her office.Man,I bet he doesn't go a day without you know what.The difficulties of being a pro athlete compared to the rest of us.Must be rough being a high paying superstar.

I should have known anytime you get ownership by a bunch of partners it never works out.Case in point Aol/TW owning the Braves.There has been alot of grief over the payroll dropping about the Braves and come to find that the upper echelon partners don't want to spend anymore money than they have to on a sports team.They are trying to run it just like any other business.What they fail to realize is you have to invest in good quality ballplayers to win and that is what hawk management is like.There are to many parnets and not one head person to control the building of the organization. This is the first big free agent that wants to play for the hawks and now these big shot execs probably just belkin doesn't want to sign off it sounds like.After this fiasco provided we have the facts straight I would hope someone buys Belkins shares of the hawks or they tell the guy that you have to invest in order to generate money.Maybe the NBA will take away ownership from these guys and hopefully get a real owner that wants to win? The NBA probably relaizes now that having these new owners of the hawks was a mistake.
