JC was good in the 1st half, but dissappeared in the 2nd like he usually does..

He might as well have been 5'8" 145 pounds trying to box out Eubanks at one point.. lol

You mean the one where he grabbed the offensive rebound when completely surrounded by Blazers and put in the and-1 (granted, he missed the foul shot)?

    Capela is useless on offense

no 1 dimension defensive player has much value in this league anymore

    Collins is weaksauce

    Hunter lol

Bogi has skill but is a scared little puppy when it matters most

These 3 need to be packaged for pizza sauce and baby formula...

Why are you talking about Collins and Hunter as if they both had the same negative impact on this game? Collins was 16-6-3 with 58 FG% while playing tough defense and battling inside. Hunter was 10-2-1 with 21 FG% and was frequently lost on defense, like on the play when Simons hit a three over his weak closeout after one pass from Lillard.

Kind of eye opening but our insiders been telling us for years that Trae Young doesn’t have player love from others in the NBA and it’s only fan and media love which makes sense because the fans and media do like Trae especially when he’s having a good season.

With the “players votes” I believe they take different things into account such as both personalities and how good they feel that player is.

Trae being 12th ranked by his peers is saying they don’t think he’s a top East PG and they don’t fear his game in my opinion. I could be overthinking it but seems that way to me .

Trae being ranked 12th means that they flat out don't like the dude.  If they didn't fear his game, he wouldn't get double teamed all of the time and a coach wouldn't put their best perimeter defender on Trae.

Some probably think he gets too many foul calls. But we've all watched Hawks games in which Trae can get killed going to the hole, and doesn't receive any type of call.  Or it'll be an obvious shooting foul that they don't give him.

Plus Trae doesn't mind at all expressing how he feels, which may rub players the wrong way.  I think the top level guys respect what he does, more than the mid and lower level guys.

Trae was having a better season last year, and I think the players only voted him 6th even then.

If they want Trae to be the villain, I hope Trae fulls embraces it and lets it fuel him.

Trae has had a pretty rough year by his standards. He has good counting stats but he has basically been a chucker from an efficiency perspective. (until recently) Also, the team is performing way under everyone's expectations after making a blockbuster trade.

Last year Trae ranked #3 in player vote so I don't think they have some big vendetta against him.

If you want to talk about someone being disrespected, look at DJM who ranked in the mid 20s this year when he was like #6 in the west last year.

Can we stop with the 'they don't fit' narrative? They don't need to be perfect, just play off each other's strengths.

Atlanta has been pretty good with Young and Murray on the floor together, outscoring opponents by 3.8 points per 100 possessions, according to data from pbpstats.com. The Hawks have been bad when Murray plays without Young (minus-6.58 net rating) and slightly worse when Young plays without Murray (minus-6.62).

These wild splits point to a sorry bench... Neither Young nor Murray are able to get production out of them consistently.

But it’s true and it’s always been true. John has definitely improved but when it comes to guarding the elites I would much rather have OO on the floor over JC.

I’ve been with Supes on that front from the start that OO is a better defender than JC. It’s just that overall JC is better since OO offensively isn’t close to Collins at all.

my theory is however that if you have a 3 headed monster offensively in Trae, Murray, Ayton…then OO can do what he loves and what got him drafted him and dedicate his full attention to defense.

Yeah it would be great to have OO "on the floor".  The problem is, he has shown that he can't stay on the floor with extended minutes because he fouls so much. He generally has 5 fouls, and that's with 20 minutes. OO needs to prove that he can defend without fouling before we clear the roster and extend his minutes.

“Onyeka Okongwu became one of the greatest undersized centers the NBA had ever seen. He had a slow start in his first 3 years and then took off. In the following 8 seasons he would go on to 6 all defensive first teams and 3 NBA titles for the Atlanta Hawks. He earned a key to the city alongside Trae Young as the two became the mainstay duo in the ATL and rewrote the narrative of losing in Atlanta.”

Might as well throw a couple MVPs in with that dream.

So i don't know if this is a coincidence or not but before Bogi came back we were 12-10 and we all agreed the only real thing we were missing was a few good 3 point sharp shooters to help out.   Which i think Bogi is but since he came back we are 9-12 and i personally think he disrupts the flow a bit when he starts doing more of his iso than being a 3 point shooting addition.  Then you add in his below avg defense 95% of the time and i think he might be doing more harm than good at times.    If we could get more guys that are catch and shoot guys that play avg or so D instead of a guy like Bogi that prefers to make more plays himself i think we would be better off.

I honestly feel Huerter would have been a much better keep than Bogi on this team in style of play and how well they would play off a Trae and Murray.

We all think that, but we didn't want to give someone a pick to take Bogi with his bum knee.

Trae, if you are reading this, don’t let them get to you. The media, the management, the disarray of everything around you.

I’m a guy in my late 40’s who fell in love with your play because of the feel you have for the game and the fact that you play hard every game and put it out on the line, with the small stature and all, you rarely miss games and fight through.

I refuse to watch you play uncommitted ball for the rest of the year. Honestly, in the entire league, there are 2 throwback players to me.

Trae and Giannis. They have been playing old school rough beck ball and not missing games throughout their careers and wanting to stay and are committed to their respective cities 🌆.

After we made the ECF in 2021 and even before that, I swore off tanking because we had YOU TRAE! I said we won’t have to tank till 2030…

I refuse to believe I’ll be watching this brand of ball from Trae. 🤦‍♀️

This Rambo scene 🎬 is me at :45, blaming Nate at :57… and just ranting and crying 😢… NOTHING IS OVERRRR!!! NOTHING!!! 😡

This is beautiful... It brought a tear to my eye. You still a man if you cry when you see this TRAE!!!

I think they moved the ball fine.  People just coudn't hit any shots.  And the Lakers are red hot from the outside ( for them ).   14 threes for them is like 20 threes for everybody else.

15 threes for the Lakers.  They hardly ever do this.

TBF most of them were wide open.
