  1. Looking at the NBA stats it is easy to see where the Hawks must improve to be a playoff contender, just about every offensive catagory known to mankind!! Dead last in points per game & 3 point pct., and 28th overall in FG pct. Who can come in at #3 and make an impact. I am not a Conley fan. I think Critty has more upside but he can be had at #11. B. Wright shot 65% from the field at UNC as a freshman. Could he be similar to A. Stoudamire?
  2. Priority One: Trade for Gasol or L. Aldridge If we can't trade for either, I think we should draft Brandon Wright. I know he is not a center but he could be something special and we can't pass on him. I think Sheldon can play center, especially in the east and Wright could play backup to Josh S. & Marvin. I bet BK really likes Critt. because of his size and athleticism. PG. Critt. Speedy SG JJ Salim C Zaza S. Williams SF M. Will J. Chill PF J. Smith B. Wright
  3. You are probably right. We would have too much money locked up in PG with Speedy & MO, so that probably wouldn't work. I still think Gasol would really help and then use #11 to draft a PG.
  4. Pau Gasol from Memphis via trade, using the #3 pick and whatever else, and we need to sign Maurice Williams away from Milwaukee. Williams ave. 17.3 pts and 6.1 assist. Gasol ave. 20.8 pts and 9.8 rebounds. No rookies at #3 & #11 will put up close to those numbers. Line-up: PG M. Williams SG J. Johnson C. P. Gasol PF J. Smith SF M. Williams
  5. Still a great draft for the Hawks. Hibbert is huge and fills a big need. Law is ready to go, Crittenden could be special in a couple of years if we can wait. The Chinese player is intriguing at #3 but we would have to move a forward or two via trade.
  6. I know we need a PG and a big but at pick 18 or so you are probably not going to find someone who could step in and start in the NBA at those positions. Almond has a skill that is NBA ready, shooting the rock. He can contribute right away. He is not a project.
  7. With the Indiana pick we should look at Morris Almond from Rice via Atlanta. He has put up big numbers this year (26.6 pts), amazing shooting percentages. He could back up Joe, or we could move Joe to the 3 for a bit and play Morris at the 2. Grabbing Morris could allow us to trade Childress if needed also.
  8. Gasol would be a perfect addition with Joe. We need a low post player. We have the pieces to get it done along with cap space. We don't need anymore young players (except Oden). I guess the question is, under the current legal constraints can the Hawks actually make a trade? Who knows?
  9. Marvin is a great kid but I just don't see the upside. He is not a dominant athlete or shooter. He will be very good but how long can we wait, especially considering we have the two Josh's. Jack would fit well with our group and be a leader on and off the court.
  10. I suggested trading Marvin to Portland for Jack & ANOTHER PIECE (either a player or a pick). Marvin is the second coming of Al Harrington (who was already on our roster) not Kevin Garnett. Basketball is a team sport and chemistry is a huge part of success. Jack is a team first player who would mesh well with our group of players. Jack is also a leader which this team could definetly use. It does not matter where you are picked.
  11. Billy tried to get J.Jack on draft night. Let't trade Marvin, who is from the west coast, to Portland for Jack and another piece. Maybe we could include Speedy and take Maglure from them. Many options available. Sergio Rodriguez has recently shown signs in Portland of being capable of handing the point for them.
  12. Smoove has zero low post skills and Zaza and Sheldon are undersized and below average skilled at their positions. Sorry but these are facts.
  13. What are you smoking? Indiana will be one of the better teams in the east this year. This Hawks team will not win 30 games.
  14. When things slow down which they do, who will be our low post offensive option. Please don't tell me Zaza and Sheldon. We have no low post threat. The trade of Al was a complete disaster. BK should be fired today! This team will not win 30 games. How can you possibly trade one of your best offensive weapons for a future draft pick when the drafts are so watered down these days??????????
  15. Quote: Hey if this team can finish close to .500 or a few games over were in the hunt for the 7th or 8th seed. I would love it!! I'm pumped and ready to see what we get for AL and get this next season rolling! GO HAWKS This team will not smell .500! If Joe gets injured we finish at the bottom.
  16. All of this and we still have a losing team with the great, unused cap space! How can you not be caple of trading Al Harrington, one of the top 2 or 3 free-agents available this summer, for a starting NBA player???????????????? That plus drafting a player at #5 that no one else rated nearly that high! Billy and Bernie are complete idiots. Chad Ford is correct, Billy Knight is the worst GM in basketball and the least respected. While I don't want Belkin running things, this ownership group needs to change things at the top quickly.
  17. What a joke! We are officialy bottom feeders now. I thought we were moving Al and not taking back a player so we could sign a quality free agent. We are going to lose Al and get Lo Wright in return? Does Bernie even watch basketball games or is he really just a hockey guy? Billy will be fired by mid-season. We are one injury away from winning 20 games next season. This team will struggle to score. Our big free agent signing is a backup point guard who is being portrayed as a quality starter. It is almost impossible to be a Hawks fan. True story, I was out of town this week and someone asked me if Atlanta still had an NBA team. I guess I should have said, Not really!
  18. The Atlanta Spirit will do this deal because they are strapped for money. If they don't use the trade exception this off season to acquire talent to replace the 18pts a game from Al, then that will prove what a sorry state this franchise is in. Marvin will not replace Al's numbers this season folks, you can keep dreaming. We loose our second best player and acquire nothing in return????????????????
  19. Take a look at what the NJ rookies did in 5 games. Marcus Williams 16.6 pts. 8.0 Assist Josh Boone 10.6pts., 7.8reb, 61%fg Eric Williams 10.2pts, 5.6reb. E. Williams was undrafted. Our #5 selection is 3 for 12 from the field in two games. I'm worried!
  20. PG C. Paul-T. Lue-R. Ivey SG J. Johnson-S. Stoudamire C Z. Pachulia-E. Batista SF A. Harrington-J. Childress PF J. Smith-S. Williams-S. Jones Don't get me wrong, I love Marvin but I think Al is underated and if Marvin works hard he might end up posting Al numbers eventually. Would have been fun to watch!
  21. 1. MO Williams- Bucks- Can flat out shoot the basketball from long range. Continues to develop PG skills. Possible trade bait for the Bucks. 2. Marcus Banks- Min.- Free-agent who can really run. Played well down the stretch last year after trade from Boston. 3. Jamal Crawford- Knicks- Has PG skills and is tall and long. Crowded backcourt in NY. Easily could be had as a sign & trade for Al.
  22. Eric Williams lit Sheldon up in the ACC tournament this year. Going 9 of 12 for 23pts. and 12 boards. I watched the entire game and they went head to head the whole game. Also, Cedric Simmmons of NC State went for 28pts., 9 boards & 7 blocks at Duke this year.
  23. I would make a run to sign Eric Williams & Darius Washington to free-agent deals and give them a chance to make the team.

    Solomon Jones Stats

Solomon was a good pick. He can backup at the Center position defensively because he is so long. He needs to add strength. He tested out very well in Orlando except for the bench press. I would have taken Foye at #5 however.
