  1. The Hawks continued losing has gotten old! I don't even watch the games anymore. Billy Knight's arrogance has gotten old especially for someone with his winning percentage as a GM!!
  2. I think Eric Williams is the most underated player in college basketball. I saw him play live last year at Tech and he dominated the paint. He has a very good low post game and the size to play PF in the NBA. He did very well in the Chicago draft camp last summer but decided to come back for his senior season. He shoots an extremely high percentage from the field but must work on his free throw percentage. All the mock drafts I see have him as a second round pick in a very week draft but I bet he goes mid to late first. I would love for him to be a Hawk!

    Randy Foye

I tuned in last night to watch Texas vs. Iowa St. to see Aldridge of Tx & Stenson of IoSt. but the guy who really impressed me was IoSt. PG Will Blaylock. Blaylock is tied for second in the nation in assist at 6.8 per game. He really runs the floor well and has improved his scoring ability this year. He weighs about 200 lbs also so his 6ft height is not a problem. Plus we could use another Blaylock in the ATL!
  4. Thats the line that Chris Paul put up today vs. the Spurs. What did Marvin's line look like today? Nice pick BK!
  5. What about Crawford and David Lee for Harrington? They are not going to trade Frye. Lee has shown he can really rebound.
  6. No Point Guards Available? How about making an obvious choice and draft C.Paul. Other PG's available included Bobby Jackson, Antonio Daniels, Marko Jaric, Earl Watson, Rafer Alson, Jeff McGinnis, Damon Stoudamire, Nick Van Exel, Steve Blake, Jason Hart just to name a few. And yes it was obvious to me that Chris Paul should have been the player drafted. He fit a need and he fit well with the players currently on our roster and he is a leader which this team needed. Marvin Williams is the reincarnation of Al Harrington.

    We Suck!

9 Assist, 21 Turnovers for the Hawks. Utah had 29 assist. I'm starting to believe more and more that our coach is over matched. Utah moved the ball beautifully at times, setting screens and running plays to perfection. Bring on the Spurs!
  8. The more I think about such a trade the more sense it makes. The Knicks are desperate for a quality small forward and we could use another ball handler/scorer. We could even play Crawford, Salim & J.J. together at times because J.J. is 6'7" 220 and can easily play SF. I love Al but we can't let him walk at the end of the year without compensation. Crawford is signed for 5 more years. J. Crawford J. Johnson Z. Puchilla J. Smith J. Childress
  9. What about A. Harrington & T. Lue to Washington for Antonio Daniels, J. Jefferies, & Jarvis Hayes. Money works. Antonio Daniels is a veteran PG who has always had one of the top assist to turnover ratios in the NBA. He is coming off a very good year in Seatle but has struggled somewhat this year. He plays very good def. also. Just a thought. A. Daniels- S. Stoudamire- R. Ivey J. Johnson- J. Hayes Z. Puschilla- E. Batista- J. Edwards J. Smith- J. Jefferies J. Childress- M. Williams
  10. His salary matches up with Al Harrington. Crawford played the point with Chicago and put up good assist to turnover numbers. I don't know much about his overall game, other than he can score. Possible line-up would be: J. Crawford T. Lue J. Johnson S. Stoudamire Z. Pachulia J. Edwards J. Childress M. Williams J. Smith E. Batista Just a thought, couldn't hurt at this point.
  11. A couple of other big men that I like also are Paul Davis from Michigan St. and Eric Williams from Wake. Davis was very impressive in Maui and last night vs. GT. Soft touch around the basket and can hit the college three. Ave. 20 & 11 so far shooting over 60% from the field against good competition. Williams has to be the most underated player in college basketball. He shoots a very high percentage from the field against all competition. His rebounding numbers could be better but he will be an outstanding PF in the NBA. Saw him live against GT last year and he was unstopable.
  12. I can't watch anymore. They have a lot of "potential" talent but who can wait that long. Billy Knight had the right idea about rebuilding but he didn't excecute properly. He should not have composed a team as young as this group is. They will lose their confidence losing 65 plus games this year after loosing 69 games last year. Our weeknesses are obvious to even the casual fan. No point guard to push the pace and lead the team and no interior defensive presence. Billy Knight should be held accountable. I know we are rebuilding but this is ridiculous! I will not spend a dime more to watch this team until they become consistently competitive.
  13. What makes you think Marvin will be the better player 3 years down the road. First of all C.P. is only 1 yr. older than Marvin. Marvin is a tweener size wise and I don't see superior athleticism or superior basketball IQ. C.P. is already the best player and leader of the N.O. franchise and would be a perfect fit with the athletic guys we already have on roster.
  14. Agreed, no quick fixes however it makes you wonder what our record would be if we had drafted Chris Paul. I haven't heard Billy Knight on the radio too much since the season started, but I wish someone would ask him his rationale for skipping over Paul and D. Williams. Those kind of mistakes take years to overcome.
  15. We need the athleticism and rebounding of the two Josh's on the court at the same time. We need J.J. running off screens to set up his jump shot. We need Al's low-post game. We need C. Paul running the point, oops, that just slipped out. Marvin by the way looks lost.
  16. PG- Chris Paul/Tyrone Lue SG- Joe Johnson/Salim Stoudamire C- Zaza Pachulia/John Edwards PF- Al Harrington/Estaban Batista SF- Josh Childress/Josh Smith While still too young and too small up front, this team could have had the makings of the Phoenix Suns of the East. Instead we get 0-9 to start the season.
  17. It's pretty obvious that the Hawks need someone to initiate the offense other than Joe Johnson. JJ is our top scoring threat and he needs to concentrate on getting into position to score. A PG has to be woried about getting others involved. It is going to be a long miserable season.

    No Trades!!!

You said you would only trade Al for a lottery pick. Have you watched any games this year? The last thing this team needs is another 20 year old rookie. We are by far the youngest team in the league, hence our 0-7 record. We need a better mix of youth/experience, not to mention a leader. The current roster is years away from making the playoffs and no franchise can continue to lose games at the rate the Hawks have over the last two seasons. Yes we are rebuilding but at this pace we won't make the playoffs until 2010!. We are the laughing stock of the league right now.
  19. I believe the following players can be acquired at the right price by the Hawks: Carlos Boozer- Low post machine and above average rebounder. Darko- Risky move but what have we got to loose. He is at least 7ft. tall. Chris Wilcox- Can play both PF and C. Athletic big man. Stephon Marbury- I know most people would be against acquiring him, mainly because of his contract but a Marbury/JJ backcourt is pretty good on paper.
  20. Marvin Williams will be a great player in 2 years but so will Chris Paul and Paul would have been a great fit with our current roster. Paul and Johnson in the backcourt for years to come would have been special. Paul is a leader which this team is currently sorely lacking. With the addition of Williams, we are hurting the development of the Joshes and Williams. Huge mistake by Billy. This current roster is too young with no on-court leader. Please don't draft another 18-20 year old to add to this roster next year. We need veteran help now!!!! We will be lucky to win 13 games again this year with this make-up.
  21. I support the move for Gadzuric. With the Bucks drafting Bogut, they can't afford to throw alot of money to Gadzuric. He would be a big upgrade. At PG, I would look at signing A. Daniels or M. Jaric. Both have experience and size. I would also look at a sign and trade with Washington for Kwame, using B. Diaw. I know people don't want to hear it but if Kwame can mature, he could be a special talent. Line-Up Daniels/Jaric - Ivey Childress - Stoudamire (Also PT at PG) Gadzuric- K. Brown - Drobniak J. Smith - M. Williams (Also PT at PF)- D. Smith A. Harrington- Gugliatta or Willis
  22. I totally agree. If Bogut goes #1, then we need to draft Paul. Not only is Paul an outstanding point guard and shooter but he is also a leader which this team needs. Plus remember, Paul has only played two years of college ball, so he will continue to improve. The player that M. Williams reminds me of is believe it or not, Al Harrington. At #31 I like D. Lee from FL, or B. Bass from LSU to add depth at PF.
  23. These are the two guys that I would draft with #2 & #31. Williams is a leader and moves the ball exceptionally well. I think he is a perfect fit. Bass has Barkley like skill at 6'8". He is versitale and could play small forward and power forward in the NBA. He would provide instant depth. Bass gets little publicity for being the SEC player of the year as a sophmore.
  24. One other Restricted Free-Agent out there at center is Dan Gadzuric of the Bucks. Compare his numbers to Daly's and you will see that they are pretty similar. Gadzuric had a great year on the boards.
  25. I believe Juan Dixon is a free-agent at the end of the year and he could definetly add some instant offense from our bench. I think we could overpay him slightly and have a very productive shooter coming off the bench. He is a proven leader and winner also. Just a thought.
