  1. PG- Chris Paul/Tyrone Lue SG- Joe Johnson/Salim Stoudamire C- Zaza Pachulia/John Edwards PF- Al Harrington/Estaban Batista SF- Josh Childress/Josh Smith While still too young and too small up front, this team could have had the makings of the Phoenix Suns of the East. Instead we get 0-9 to start the season.
  2. It's pretty obvious that the Hawks need someone to initiate the offense other than Joe Johnson. JJ is our top scoring threat and he needs to concentrate on getting into position to score. A PG has to be woried about getting others involved. It is going to be a long miserable season.

    No Trades!!!

You said you would only trade Al for a lottery pick. Have you watched any games this year? The last thing this team needs is another 20 year old rookie. We are by far the youngest team in the league, hence our 0-7 record. We need a better mix of youth/experience, not to mention a leader. The current roster is years away from making the playoffs and no franchise can continue to lose games at the rate the Hawks have over the last two seasons. Yes we are rebuilding but at this pace we won't make the playoffs until 2010!. We are the laughing stock of the league right now.
  4. I believe the following players can be acquired at the right price by the Hawks: Carlos Boozer- Low post machine and above average rebounder. Darko- Risky move but what have we got to loose. He is at least 7ft. tall. Chris Wilcox- Can play both PF and C. Athletic big man. Stephon Marbury- I know most people would be against acquiring him, mainly because of his contract but a Marbury/JJ backcourt is pretty good on paper.
  5. Marvin Williams will be a great player in 2 years but so will Chris Paul and Paul would have been a great fit with our current roster. Paul and Johnson in the backcourt for years to come would have been special. Paul is a leader which this team is currently sorely lacking. With the addition of Williams, we are hurting the development of the Joshes and Williams. Huge mistake by Billy. This current roster is too young with no on-court leader. Please don't draft another 18-20 year old to add to this roster next year. We need veteran help now!!!! We will be lucky to win 13 games again this year with this make-up.
  6. I support the move for Gadzuric. With the Bucks drafting Bogut, they can't afford to throw alot of money to Gadzuric. He would be a big upgrade. At PG, I would look at signing A. Daniels or M. Jaric. Both have experience and size. I would also look at a sign and trade with Washington for Kwame, using B. Diaw. I know people don't want to hear it but if Kwame can mature, he could be a special talent. Line-Up Daniels/Jaric - Ivey Childress - Stoudamire (Also PT at PG) Gadzuric- K. Brown - Drobniak J. Smith - M. Williams (Also PT at PF)- D. Smith A. Harrington- Gugliatta or Willis
  7. I totally agree. If Bogut goes #1, then we need to draft Paul. Not only is Paul an outstanding point guard and shooter but he is also a leader which this team needs. Plus remember, Paul has only played two years of college ball, so he will continue to improve. The player that M. Williams reminds me of is believe it or not, Al Harrington. At #31 I like D. Lee from FL, or B. Bass from LSU to add depth at PF.
  8. These are the two guys that I would draft with #2 & #31. Williams is a leader and moves the ball exceptionally well. I think he is a perfect fit. Bass has Barkley like skill at 6'8". He is versitale and could play small forward and power forward in the NBA. He would provide instant depth. Bass gets little publicity for being the SEC player of the year as a sophmore.
  9. One other Restricted Free-Agent out there at center is Dan Gadzuric of the Bucks. Compare his numbers to Daly's and you will see that they are pretty similar. Gadzuric had a great year on the boards.
  10. I believe Juan Dixon is a free-agent at the end of the year and he could definetly add some instant offense from our bench. I think we could overpay him slightly and have a very productive shooter coming off the bench. He is a proven leader and winner also. Just a thought.
  11. Should the Hawks take a chance and make a move for Artest. You've got to believe that the Pacers want to move him with his attitude problems. If you go to the Pacers official team website, Artest is no even listed on the roster or in the stats. He fits the B.Knight mode of athletic defensive type. The only problem is that he would probably take minutes from the Josh's. I say yes we should go after him this off-season.
  12. You can just look at Kwame and see that he has all the physical tools to be a big time player. If he would have went to college for four years and entered the draft this year, he would without question be the No. 1 pick. I think several teams will try to sign him and I hope the Hawks get him. He needs a new start and a coach like Woodson to teach him. Some players mature quicker than others and Kwame could mature in the next couple of years and be an all-star.
  13. Carlos Boozer of Utah. Boozer could actually play center in the east.
  14. I heard the interview also and I don't think Herb Brown is very high on Bogut or Chris Paul. He said the Hawks need three things this offseason: 1. A "taller" point guard who can run the team, not necessarily score alot. (Deron Williams) 2. A center who can rebound, run the floor and block shots. (S. Dalembert, K. Brown) 3. A pure shooter to better free up the low-post scorer Al Harrintgon. (?) One thing that he mentioned more than once was building this team around DEFENSE, which is a word that doesn't come up often when you talk about Bogut & Paul.
  15. I know we desperately need help up front, but I don't think Bogut has the athletic skills to star in the NBA. I think Paul fits a run & gun style better which fits well with Childress, Smith & Harrington. Yes we need a big man but that can be taken care of via free-agency or trade. I also love Wayne Simeon from Kansas and I would love if we could pick him up in the draft somehow. PG C. Paul SG J. Childress C K. Brown PF A. Harrington W. Simeon SF J. Smith
  16. Salim Stoudamire- He put on a shooting display once again this weekend with 37pts vs. Washington. Unbelievable! He is also a better ballhandler than I thought. He is a better shooter than Ben Gordon and we see how Gordon is contributing to the Bulls. I think Stoudamire will be a mid 1st round draft pick when it is all said and done. If the Hawks get the Lakers 1st round pick I wouldn't hesitate in taking him. Wayne Simeon- Continues to show he has impressive offensive skills in the low block and he is a very good rebounder. I think he would give the Hawks flexibility with playing Harrington at the 3 or 4 position. If he's around with the Lakers pick, it would be a tough decision to make between Simeon and Stoudamire.
  17. According to reports, NBA scouts love Andrew Bogut (6'10", 240lbs) of Utah and he could be the #1 overall pick. He has a very good low post game and is a great rebounder. He is very experienced having played on the Austrailian National team. He would definetly fill a need for the Hawks but just about anybody would. I say we draft either Bogut or Splitter and throw a lot of money at Joe Johnson. Obviously we would still have holes to fill, especially at PG. Line-up PG- Lue, Ivey, Draft Pick SG- Johnson, Childress C- Bogut, ? SF- J. Smith PF- Harrington
  18. Boone has shot up the charts on most draft boards. He has good size (6'10") and looks like he has grown since last season. Big time rebounder which the Hawks could really use. He's really bright also, he scored a 1200 on his SAT's. Plus we could use another player named Josh!
  19. We need to spend whatever it takes to go after Joe Johson from Phoenix. He is having a great season and he is a restricted FA at the end of the year. They have dished out big money already for Q. Richardson & S. Nash so they will not throw big money to Joe. With our number 1, we should draft either C. Paul for PG or T. Splitter for PF.
  20. The Hawks are a young team as it is. They cannot start out next year with a rookie point guard. This rebuilding stage cannot last for years. One guy to look at is Earl Watson with the Grizzlies. He is a free-agent who puts up good numbers for the minutes he gets to play. He started tonight for the Griz and put up 19pts and 9 ast. We should draft a big man with our number one and also sign or trade for one using Walker as bait. Kwame would be my target. The other option is to use Diaw at the point exclusively.
  21. K-Mart is not coming to a team with 4 rookies and a bunch of nobody's. The Hawks are going to have to overpay for younger players and hope they blossom. My #1 target would Etan Thomas. I really like Thomas because he is very physical. He produced good numbers last year for his minutes and because the Wizards just took on Jamison's long-term deal they probably will let him ride if he gets a semi-large deal from the Hawks. I like Swift's athleticism but I am concerned about his basketball I.Q. He seems to just wonder around the court. Would you trade J.Terry to Seatle for V. Radmonovic who could probably play PF in the east?
  22. If we stay put, I think the logical choice is Childress. He is better athlete than most people think. I like the fact that he is a very good rebounder for his size which shows me he understands the game. At #17, we will need to go big, I hope that K. Humphries is there. I would trade up using our 2nd rd picks and future #1's to get Humphries. Our main targets in free-agency should be Marquis Daniels & Etan Thomas. Line-up: Terry, Daniels, Thomas, Diaw/Childress, Humphries
  23. When you look at his size, left-handed shooting stroke, passing skills and his great shooting percentages, Luke Jackson reminds me of Chris Mullin. One exception is that Jackson is a better athlete than Mullin. Jackson would be a bigger name if he played on the east coast. I think we should definetly consider Jackson at #6 if we keep the pick.

    Looking ahead

Kris Humphries almost went pro last year out of high school. He is averaging 22.5pts and 10.5 boards a game for Minn. as a Freshman. I believe he will move up the draft boards as the draft nears. Very strong and athletic.
  25. For all of you B. Diaw lovers, have you noticed the numbers that Josh Howard and Marquis Daniels put up for the Dallas summer league team in LA. Howard average 21Pts/8Reb in six games. Marquis Daniels from Auburn was used at the point and at 6'6" 200lbs he was scoring at will. He was averaging 25Pts/5Reb/4.5Ast. midway through, but I can't find his final stats. I know he went for 38Pts in one game. Daniels went undrafted. While our scouts where in France, two guys that could have really helped us where right here in our backyard. By the way, has anyone told Diaw that the object of the game is to put the round ball into the piece of round steel attached to the glass with the painted square.
