  1. • Speaking of the Suns, a league source confirmed that the mandate from owner Robert Sarver was to trim roughly $8 million from their payroll this summer. They'd love to trade Marcus Banks or Boris Diaw to clear the money, but that's probably not happening unless Shawn Marion or Amare Stoudemire is in the deal. Perhaps Steve Kerr, in his new role as president and GM, will be able to talk Sarver into being patient. The Suns aren't that far away from the Finals. But if they do trade Marion or Stoudemire, I still believe the Bulls remain the most logical trade partner, assuming they're willing to let go of Luol Deng.
  2. So who's working out where? Brandan Wright said he has workouts scheduled with the Hawks, Grizzlies and Celtics. Al Horford said he has workouts with those three teams as well as the Bucks and Timberwolves. Al Thornton is working out for the Celtics, Blazers, Timberwolves, Bobcats and Bucks. Spencer Hawes said he has workouts scheduled with the Wolves, Bulls and Kings. Jeff Green said he'll work out with the Bulls, Sixers, Bobcats and Bucks.
  3. I dont think Portland gets hosed at all.

  5. I think they will be moving to Oklahoma so Marvin wouldnt be the home town guy.
  6. 12 Hawks From Pacers Nicolas Batum SF 18 years old; 6'8"; 209 lbs. Le Mans Sarthe Basket, International Draft City has him going to Atlanta at 12
  7. If we get the number one pick it will be a no brainier we select Oden. If we get the secound pick I think we will take Durant and then we will trade Marvin to the highest bidder which will probably be Seattle if they loose Lewis to free agency maybe a package of Wilcox and Ridnour and we give a couple of ending contract so they can start the rebuilding process.Wilcox can play the four and the five in the east. Marvin is a Seattle native a will help sell tickets as they start to rebuild. If we get the third pick I think we draft Hibbert and hope he develops into a sold NBA center. If we get the Indiania pick we should go for the best point guard hopefully it will be Conley if he declares and falls past Sacramento who I think will draft a big a keep Bibby and try to build around him
  8. I am sure we wil resign him I just dont no if it will be this off season or Knight wait until he is a restricted free agent and matches like he did with Jason Terry. I wonder if Smith will seak a sort contract like Lebron and Wade so he can become a free agent sooner.
  9. Harrington only signed a four year contract.
  10. What effect will the owner situation have on the the Hawks offering Josh Smith a extension this summer. I thought there were some stipulation on the number of years we could sign a player without Belkins aproval. Josh would receive a five year extension.
  11. I think he had rather have a top three pick in this draft and Indiana give us a pick between 12 and 14.
  12. Bill (Austin): Chad what are your thoughts on the Hawks getting Anthony Johnson for the Mavs' second round pick for the 07 draft? Chad Ford: (1:08 PM ET ) From ESPN.com's own Nick Silva, our cap guru: "The Hawks-Mavs trade saved Dallas 2.64M in tax for this year and 5.72M next year (2.86M salary + 2.86M tax) and they got the Hawks pick in the second round which is 37 right now and they gained a 2.64M trade exception." Once again Billy Knight is helping out one of the best teams in the league. He needs a lifetime achievement award.
  13. I dont believe any of the Laker rumors. When they signed Radmanovic they promised him a starting spot and they already have Odum.
  14. The Bulls also have explored Chandler trade scenarios with the Hawks (via an Al Harrington sign-and-trade) and the Warriors. From ESPN
  15. Source: Big Ben Heading To Bulls The biggest free-agent prize of the NBA offseason appears to be off the market. Ben Wallace has informed the Pistons that he will sign with the Bulls, Insider Chad Ford reports. The deal is believed to be $52 million for four years.
  16. Harrington likely out as Hawk In Atlanta, 'it's pretty much a wrap for me,' vet says By SEKOU SMITH The Atlanta Journal-Constitution Published on: 07/03/06 Al Harrington's tenure with the Hawks is apparently over. "As of right now it's pretty clear to me that I won't be back in a Hawks uniform next year," Harrington said by phone Monday afternoon from his offseason home in Los Angeles. "It's pretty much a wrap for me there [Atlanta]." The veteran forward and Hawks co-captain is an unrestricted free agent and said the Hawks have made it clear they have no intention of re-signing him. They could, however, re-sign him and then trade him. The Indiana Pacers, the team Harrington left in a sign-and-trade two years ago to join the Hawks, and the Golden State Warriors are the teams making the most noise, Harrington said. "I have a genuine interest in both of those teams," he said. "My only focus is getting back to the playoffs and eventually competing for a championship." An eight-year veteran, Harrington was the Hawks' second leading scorer (18.6) and rebounder (6.9) last season and served as a captain in both of seasons with the franchise
  17. Lakers, Clippers Make Moves Radmanovic signs with Lakers; Cassell on the way out as Clippers sign Suns' Thomas By Mike Bresnahan and Jason Reid, Times Staff Writer 4:13 PM PDT, July 1, 2006 The Los Angeles Lakers moved quickly Saturday on the first day of free agency, addressing their need for outside shooting by snatching away a piece from their cross-town rival by agreeing to terms with three-point specialist Vladimir Radmanovic. The Los Angeles Clippers also reacted quickly after Radmanovic and point guard Sam Cassell apparently reneged on agreements to stay with them, reaching terms with sharp-shooting forward Tim Thomas early Saturday. ADVERTISEMENT Clippers Coach Mike Dunleavy and the representatives of Thomas, a 6-foot-10 forward who revived his career with Phoenix late last season, completed a four-year, $24-million deal Saturday at about 12:30 a.m. The move capped a dizzying three-hour period in which the Clippers were informed Cassell and Radmanovic accepted and then rejected multi-year offers, sources said. Radmanovic agreed Saturday to a five-year, $31-million contract with the Lakers, the same package the Clippers offered. "At the conclusion of the moratorium period, the Lakers intend to enter into a contract with Vladimir Radmanovic," Lakers General Manager Mitch Kupchak said. Radmanovic, who stretches defenses by luring post players away from the basket with his outside shot, has career averages of 10.1 points, 5.4 rebounds and 38.1% shooting from three-point range. Thomas, a nine-year veteran, who makes his off-season home in Los Angeles, played a key role in the Suns' run to the Western Conference finals. Thomas averaged 14.7 points, 6.1 rebounds and made 37.8% of his three-pointers as Phoenix defeated the Clippers in the semifinals. Free agents cannot officially sign contracts until July 12.
  18. If the hawks could sign and trade Harrington for Chandler,Dalenbert or Nene. Who would be the best fit for Atlanta?
  19. Scott

    Chicago Bulls

The Bulls have alot of Cap Room to sign Harrington but they may try to sign Big Ben or Nene. If they could sign Big Ben would they want to sign and trade Tyson Chandler for Harrington.

    Question

Where would Marvin Williams have been drafted in the 2006 NBA draft?
  21. With Isiah having one year to turn around the Knicks and Harrington being a Isiah faverite at Indiana. What will he offer in a sign and trade. He has refused to trade Channing Frye in the past. He must win now to save his job. Could he offer Frye and Maurice Tayler who will be in the last year of his contract. If he trades Frye and they still dont win he will be fired. He doesnt care who the have on the roster at that point. He gets Harrington a huge contract and we never here from him again. He will probably try to talk Knight into taking Francis. But his contract takes all of our cap room with no room to improve our center position.
  22. Unfortunately, this all means Charlie Villanueva will be dealt in the near future. For Josh Smith of the Hawks, possibly? I dont think we would ever trade Josh Smith for Villanueva. But Josh Childers for Villanueva could work for both teams.
  23. If we draft Sheldon Williams at 5 I think we have a prearranged trade with Philadelphia. They can't anounce it until after July 1 due to the salary cap. Sheldon William to Philadelphia for the 13 and Dalembert. With the 13th pick we will take a point guard or best available. Maybe Rondo.
