  1. The overall premise of my post was that we don't have players that casual fans want to come see. We have long-term vets that still make crucial mistakes in big games like Teague. I stated I hoped Dennis could become one of those star players that all types of fans would come to games to watch. Dennis was brought up as also not closing out big games as if to invalidate what I was saying about Teague so I added a link to an example of what I saw from Teague this year. Dennis may never reach superstar potential but at least his window for doing so is still open where as Teague is pretty close to peak. Don't get my wrong, I do like Teague and the times he takes over games but he is close to maxed out on potential. We'll just have to see how he does in Indy versus Dennis here.
  2. Way to cherry pick. Did you watch this game? https://www.clippituser.tv/c/qbblz
  3. I agree with this. We have had good players but never a star that makes you want to go out and buy their jersey. This is why I dislike the lottery system entirely. I believe each playoff team should have 1 ping pong ball and each non-playoff team gets 2 balls each. Every fanbase should have a decent shot at getting a Lebron, Durant, Anthony Davis, or Towns and not get penalized for winning. The only season that was extremely exciting despite not having a star player was the 60 wins season when every possession had a chance for Kyle to let a dagger fly from 3. Atlanta needs an exciting player, hopefully Dennis, and not end of game possessions with Teague not even getting a shot off in crucial games.
  4. Golden State has always had tremendous fan support despite have the same crappy ownership issues that Atlanta has suffered. The sad part is, the die-hard fans will be gone once the team moves to San Francisco and I don't think the volume will get as load as the ROracle. The Niners made a similar move to Santa Clara and the lost the fans that gave Candlestick it's mojo. I really like that Cuban raises prices in the lower sections for corporate seats and keeps the higher seats at lower prices for the everyday fan.
  5. I thought this was interesting regarding Free Agency this year: The Hawks struck out in free agency despite mammoth cap room and an intriguing nucleus, and Korver says players around the league don’t view Atlanta as a desirable place to play. “There’s a bad perception around the franchise now,” Korver says. “But we’re gonna change that.”
  6. Tim Duncan is a stud. Overall he is a superstar and even in his current body he's still a HUGE reason the Spurs are so good. No he doesn't post up like he used to but the offense doesn't require him to do so as much. All you need to see is that he has elite skill level in all facets of the game and he couples that with extreme effort. Look at footage of last year's and this year's finals and you will see him charging down the court. I remember him routinely beating the younger Chris Bosh back to the other side of the court after a Spurs defensive rebound. Tim Duncan is a stud regardless of his age because he maximizes his potential.
  7. Let's say Chandler Parsons is Danny Ferry's main target. The Rockets made him an RFA so they could sign a max-level player and then resign Parson afterwards to go over the cap if necessary. If we agree with Parsons on a large front-loaded contract on July 1st, the opposite of what they did with Lin and Asik, the Rockets will then have three days to match. With Miami sorting out their plan and Melo looking like he will take his time determining his next stop it seems the max-level players will not sign right away. If this does happen three days is not much time for Houston to decide on Parsons. Matching the front-loaded deal eats up their cap space and even if they get a max-level guy and then match, that front-loaded deal is going to come with a large tax bill. If i was another NBA team I would make them give up a bunch of picks to take Lin off their hands for cap relief. Thoughts?
  8. Another thing he played last season including the tourney with Mono. He had no idea why he was tired all the time. Finally got diagnosed and rested during draft preparations. This could mean his stats would be even better than what needed up on film.
  9. I have to agree with PSSSHHHRRR87. I see Atlanta on the rise. You don't take Indy to 7 games without Horford without a good coach, systems, and players playing team ball. If we had one more guy at half of Horford's skill we beat them in 6. I think the Spurs rise just makes the Hawks look even more attractive. Both the Knicks and Heat situations look pretty dire through next year and then there is a big unknown. With the Hawks you know you have Horford and a coach that will get you the ball in spots while spreading the scoring burden around to everyone. It just seems like it would be way more fun than what Melo and Bron in the playoffs experienced.
  10. I agree with this. Watching him later in the year and the playoffs you could tell he could still play but the offense came to a screeching halt with him on the floor. He has the talent and will probably get his explosiveness all the way back next season. I think it is time to cut bait and trade him to a team that needs a six man to put up points as a solo act.
  11. Maybe Saric wants to go to the Hawks and is outwardly making it appear he will stay in Europe. Why enter the draft but appear to be signing on with a Euro club? Seems to me he wants to scare off teams from drafting him.
