  1. Just curious, Why wouldn't Trae & Brogdon work? Also, I think Portland is in a spot in which if they are so committed to building around Dame, they should look to trade that pick for an impact level vet. The Free Agent market is weak so they don't have a choice but to look at the trade market. Now if they aren't committed to Dame then all bets are off.
  2. Here's some ideas: 1. Search the market & see what disgruntled star might become available, Zion? Donovan Mitchell? Rudy Gobert? 2. Call Indiana & see what it would take to get Malcolm Brogdon. Could an offer of Huerter, our own 2022 1st & Charlotte's 1st work? 3. I would entertain this idea. If the Blazers land in the top 4 of the draft lottery. Offer John Collins for Portland's 2022 pick & take a shot at either Chet Holmgren, Jabari Smith or Paolo Banchero. The Blazers it seems want to build around Dame. They wont find a better trade option than JC & JC would fit perfect with Dame, Simons & Nurkic. The Hawks risk taking a step back but the upside of Chet/Jabari/Paolo would be appealing & could raise their longterm ceiling. All 3 would fit with Trae. 4. Offer Capela/Gallo to the Lakers for Russ & LAL's 2027 1st. Then buyout Russ! The LAL 2027 1st could be a real asset to use in a future trade for a star. Gallo/Capela would be great fits with Lebron & AD for a last title shot. Thoughts?
  3. Fran Fraschilla mentions 9 international players that we should know about between now and in the future. Some of these guys might be in the 2015 NBA Draft and we all know that the Hawks are going to be linked to most of these guys considering how Danny Ferry loves International players. Anybody who has Espn Insider can you post this please? http://insider.espn.go.com/blog/ncbexperts/post?id=2727
  4. Just thought that it would be interesting to here a Front Office's perspective about the Thabo Sefolosha deal. If any has Espn Insider can you post this please. http://insider.espn.go.com/nba/story/_/id/11174687/breaking-dirk-nowitzki-new-contract-other-free-agent-signings-nba?ex_cid=InsiderTwitter_Elhassan
  5. I would also keep this mind...I think if we sign Deng, i'm hoping that it is a 2 year deal at around 8-10 million, simply because there is a man by the name of Kevin Durant that will be a free agent in 2016. I have to believe that is on Danny Ferry's mind when he is making his pitch to sign Deng.
  6. Lol Espn Insider always has interesting stuff
  7. Chad Ford just posted the latest NBA rumors thats going on as we head towards the NBA Draft. It could impact what the Hawks do at 15. Can anyone with Espn Insider post this please http://insider.espn.go.com/nba/draft2014/story/_/id/11111803/how-far-joel-embiid-slide-2014-nba-draft
  8. Jeff Goodman compares the top 28 prospects in this draft class & writes about what their ceiling is & what their floor is. Can anybody who has ESPN Insider post this please. Thought it would be interesting http://insider.espn.go.com/nba/draft2015/story/_/id/11105245/nba-draft-2014-ceilings-floors-top-prospects
  9. What I mean by guy making a play is guys who can do different things...with Korver & Carroll those guys are pretty much spot up shooters, they don't take you off the dribble...the hawks lived & died by the 3 this past season. Not that it isn't okay to shoot a lot 3s but you need guys who can attack when you Need too & not be too one dimensional. The hawks had a lot of those guys like that last year. When you compare that to the Spurs. The spurs have multidimensional guys who can beat you in many different ways. That's what I eventually want the Hawks to get to.
  10. The wings in FA outside of Melo & LBJ are meh. It's gonna be tough to get Hayward out of Utah. Loul Deng is declining IMO because of the mins he played in Chicago & Trevor Ariza is really no different than Carroll. We need playmakers. Guys who can make plays in create. That was the difference along with no Horford in why the hawks lost to the Pacers in the 1st round
  11. I don't want just any SF/SG, I want a wing with some upside who could start down the road. This draft offers that...long term I see either Carroll or Korver in a backup role. Korver is what 32 or 33? He's gonna get older if he isn't Already. I want a playmaker with size at the wing spot & this draft offers that in a way that FA doesn't. As far as Horford's injury concerns. I don't consider a pectoral injury to be a career threatening injury Like a knee or a back injury would be. Horford should be the same player he was before. Do we need more front court depth? Sure but why add another project big, Nurkic would go through an adjustment period like most international bigs or any young big would? Why not address it in free agency. We have enough young bigs as is. They just need to be developed.
  12. But do we need a guy with 20/10 potential when you have Al Horford?...Horford was averaging 18/8 before he got hurt & he continues to improve each season and I believe Horford is a big part of what the Hawks are trying to build. Now maybe you can sell me on whether or not will Horford will stay healthy over the long haul but I believe Al will be healthy going forward. I guess it wouldn't hurt to "double down" at the Center spot, but I don't this it is necessary over upgrading the Wing spot. Why not get Warren, Hood or Stauskas at 15 and then get some like Spencer Hawes in FA? That would make the Hawks better and you can still develop Bebe. No doubt Nurkic has some intrigue but if there is a guy like TJ Warren or Rodney Hood is available or if a Nik Stuaskas started to fall, i'm taking those guys over Nurkic. I would only consider taking Nurkic only if the Hawks somehow was able to get another 1st rounder in this draft.
  13. I think Bebe has starting proteintial. Does he need to get stronger? Sure, but he's very athletic, he's long & has shown to be a nice shot blocker...if he can develop into a serge Ibaka/Tyson Chandler type you might have your starting center right there. 14. If the Hawks somehow got another 1st in this draft, then that is a different argument. I probably wouldn't be that upset at taking Nurkic, but at 15 the Hawks can't bypass the chance to take someone like TJ Warren(who I am really high on) or Rodney Hood. I'm not a huge fan of the wings in this FA class ( I don't expect Lebron or Melo to come here). As a Hawks fan I really want us to address the wing spot in this draft and upgrade the C/PF spot in Free Agency
