They went from in the playoffs to out of the playoffs to get a lottery pick.  Sat Luka, etc.  It ended up netting them Derek Lively who is probably their third most important player on the roster going forward.

Yea then that would be an example of what teams are starting to consider.

You are basically advocating for what the Mavericks did last year, is that right?

Not sure what they did I don't keep up with them.  I'm just saying the climate is a bit different than it used to be, this has been shown numerous times at this point and is front of mine for most front offices, but we have lots of ppl still in this board saying just go out and get these guys , saw one the other day oh hey kat ain't shit we don't need him there so many fish in the sea. No there isn't that is apart of the problem.

I disagree with this.  First, there isn't a player worth it this year.  Second, the player pool that is available will likely only provide someone that will play most of the season in College Park and maybe give some spot minutes at the end of the season.

Well yes, thats the risk every year. Not to mention we don't need another year of ownership getting playoff revenue. This is why the league is in the position it is in with the lack of trades and being harder to build rosters out.  Many GM and NBA execs have talked about this, teams are less willing to deal at the trade deadline since the playin.  They also get that boost of revenue that aligns with acting like they are doing it for the fans to have that "chance".   You guys want Tony to take making moves more seriously? Then take that shit away from him, let him know he's moving backwards and can't even get to the playin because of the decisions they have made.

  5. Not if we want to stay out of the play in and get a top 10 pick, I don't like.tsnking but I'm for it at this point, we need to shuffle the deck and we need.to.gain as much opportunities to do that as possible.  Hell maybe he is even feeling better and does well enough to get a little value out of him this summer.

I know a lot you guys saw Wemby and Trae spend a good amount of time with each other yesteday...

They won't ever trade Trae unless he requests a trade himself but remember who told you guys he's been planting this seed

nearly every outlet been saying that along with reddit been implying this since the moment it happened. not inside info

Way more popular than Nique. He got people selling out to see this constantly under .500. You couldn't get no one to come for free when they were a playoff team with Iso Joe

Which kind of kills all these takes, I understand where it comes from but it makes no sense , you can't have it all or both.  Trading Trae completely kills this narrative of tony using NBA team as a investment just.to make as much money as possible, may e we don't understand the diff between billions and millions.  He does not help himself by trading Trae, he will make less money.  He would still do better because of what he has already made not to mention the increase if we went deep into the tax to take another shot, it's like the falcons when they are doing well everyone comes it gets crazy, it would bring eberyone especially if we got the right big to go along with Trae. Easier said than done.

They just missed on some guys and tried to play it safe and wait and see and try to get perfect time to grab another player but that shit wasn't realistic, now u got to go big or start over, but your not making more money by gutt8ng the team

He's our new Jason Terry. He's just not ready yet. Leave him in College Park. He will be ready next year.

Right but.to.do what ? Your proposing above to get a sg and backup pg in the off-season.   And Inch taller and 20 lbs heavier than Murray he will prolly slot in there especially if we're able to get a big in here for Murray.  As we all know all the trade blank for blank stuff almost never happens and it's super hard to build once you are where we are. We need a good back half of the season to raise the value of this teams assets
