  1. I think we will do well to replenish the coffers with as far as picks go to say the least after the deadline, which kind of resets us a little after this last few years. Bogi is gonna bring something nice. Love the guy would love to keep him hell bought his jersey this offseason

It's not so much that....rebuilding typically means you are expecting to be in the lottery for the upcoming season. We don't own our own picks, so we can't afford to be bad enough to gift SAS premium picks.

Sure we can trade vets for picks from other teams, but we'd have no control over where those pick end up.

What would be your ideal REBUILD idea?

I'm more referring to the idea that we ended ours too early and they take it as a personal attack against trea which it isn't .

No respect , add  the Pacers to the  Thunder, Magic,Pelicans, Kings, Cavs, Grizzlies, and Rockets to  the list of young teams who have arguably bypassed the Hawks in their rebuild.

The Hawks have to develope and Rebuild AJ's confidence. I would hate to see them squander this pick. He looks lost, totally lacking of joy and  passion in his game. He came into the league and started off with so much promise. Let's get him back on track.

Don't say the rebuild word around here, some folks take offense to that

  4. Some guys also aren't getting the scheme as well as others, we def have primarily fitment issues but they get exacerbated when trying to do new stuff and then have to revert back.  If anything fosters trades it's this, didn't think JJ would struggle like this tonight.

No... what they should do is look at OKC's blueprint.

OKC simply allows SGA to take the ball to the basket.   He either scores or gets fouled.   That works very well in the regular season.  OKC is a first round loss to a 7th or 8th seed.

    sounds familiar

  6. Pelicans are well built, they have a lot of what we need, Id think they would be a little better this year but they should make some good noise in the playoffs this year, even if zion doesnt make it the whole way.

The Trae - Zion pick and roll would be one of the most exciting plays in the NBA.

Give Trae to freakish athletes like Zion and JJ, who can also handle the ball, and let's see what happens.

    100% on board with that.

black people shouldn't get tattoos.  They always look terrible.

Just like white people shouldn't wear bright colored suits unless you're Craig Segar.    And white people over the age of 30 shouldn't wear basketball jerseys unless there is a t-shirt underneath.

These are all facts of life.

    Word is bond yo

  8. The biggest gripe about Zion on the court is probably his rebounding, he was expected to be much better at that.  If we got him we would need to address that for sure, with a better rebounding big, like most trades suggest for this work.

They want to play together but they both know this isn't working. DJM taking his deal and his comments about "loyalty" were about him showing loyalty to the Hawks in more than one way. DJM would not be opposed to trade out of Atlanta. He knows he isn't playing his natural position. He wants to be a PG again. Look at how many times his dad has mentioned DJM playing out of position on social media.

If the team does what I hope which is keep Trae and JJ but put everyone else on the trading block we could do a soft rebuild and recoup the assets we lost with the DJM trade. If it works out, great. If it doesn't work out, well, that would almost certainly lead to Trae being traded for a monster haul not this offseason but next.

Prolly best case scenario, but also begs question why did they do this to begin with I know what has been said but if dj wanted to be a pg  it sure why he came here .  I guess they did to just see if it could work ? Cost was  very high for an experiment.

No.....look no further than the #4, #10 and #6 picks we had. None have matched Trae's level.

lol, we need to go back and look at these drafts, Im not anyones fan but the players that have come out of these last drafts, its pretty slim, that have turned into anything much less the specific fit we need with Trea.  We def did end the tank too soon when we got our star but he isnt a 2 way one, like the Celtics got a few of, so we needed to keep going to get those other players around him that you wouldnt have to do as much of if your star can also play good Defence, very few of these folks out here.

The problem with hero ball and superstar roster acquisitions is how it deprives you of depth. A la Phoenix now.

I’ll say it again, SCORING IS NOT OUR ISSUE. Trae raises the offensive floor of any team and we are already top 3 offense and doing it without a dearth of shooters on the wing. Any trade that does not increase our interior defense or length and shooting on the wings does not make us better and there are trades out there to be had to increase both of those things without giving up any one of our core players to do it.

I dont think there are is the problem, I think most agree what we need, its just going to be much harder to get so we start talking about tear it down scenarious, we will see, trade deadline is coming, but we need to stop with the oh just do this why didnt we do this thinking, we would do it if it was that simple.  Its like saying, oh just trade up to get a better qb this year for falcons, no bid deal.

If we could get Booker, get Murray and improve the team to have more balance then yes I would move Trae for that.

I agree, DJ can guard 1s but still he just isnt a good enough shooter to me for that to make a huge difference, here, JJ and DJ would need to shoot better for this to work, but I agree the premise is there.

100% agree with all of this. At one point, it was well understood that the Hawks were going to surround Trae with long defenders and shooters. I feel like the direction of the team is in flux without Schlenk. Love him or hate him, his vision for what pieces he wanted around Trae made sense. It feels like once the Hawks got out of the 'building through the Draft' phase and into the free agent and asset trading phase, things fell apart.

Apparently they had to , Trae was tired of it, and maybe they thought they could get enough but it wasn't complete and we popped too soon, I think Trae knows this and probably understands we may have cut the rebuild too soon as he certainly has not rejected quin or not tried to get better and I'm sure he's heard from enough other ppl in the league about the type of players he needs around him and that just isn't really easy to execute.
