  1. You're right. You can't advertise an amateur athelete to promote your game. On the college games they always use a guy that just got drafted (like Larry Fitzgerald on NCAA Football, Anthony on NCAA Hoops last year, etc.)
  2. NBA - Lakers, Knicks, Kings NFL - Redskins, Eagles, 49ers, Packers NCAA - Texas, Oklahoma St., Nebraska (GO SOONERS!)
  3. http://www.zwire.com/site/news.cfm?newsid=...id=21848&rfi=6','91' "One center that can be had in a trade is Indiana's Scot Pollard (6-11, 265), although Atlanta is also interested in trading for him. He has two years and almost $12 million remaining on his contract" I do not think he is the answer to our center situation, especially if we have to trade for him. I'd rather sign Przybilla. He would also be cheaper than 2 years at 12 million!
  4. Peja to the Pacers for Ron Artest. I have not read anything on the web, just heard the radio report a few minutes ago.
  5. How about Isaiah Rider? The #2 worst trade of the Babcock era - Smith for Rider!
  6. How about Priest Lauderdale? He made Gheorge Muresean look athletic!
  7. Good one! A little more recent - Why was it we passed on drafting Bobby Jackson? Oh yeah, Ed Gray! What a waste of a draft pick.
  8. I agree. This has gone on long enough! We should sign a couple more big men (1 center, 1 forward/center) and go with the committee approach until next year.
  9. Link to article - http://www.hoopshype.com/home.htm Is there anyone under the age of 30 still available (and worth a roster spot)?
  10. I thought it was just OK. After 6th Sense, it seems like M. Night is just trying to come up with one crazy surprise after another and it's not working. Of course, it could be that everyone is looking for the surprise from the beginning and it's just easier to figure out that way. That's the way it was for me in The Village, I kept thinking of what would be "shocking" at the end of the movie.
  11. Remember Steve Henson? It's no wonder Mookie led the team in minutes played with this guy as his backup! And how about Alexander Volkov! One of the great ballers of our time - LOL!
  12. Hey! An Adam Keefe sighting!
  13. I like the current Seattle uniforms. They are a cross between their 80s uniforms with a little bit of a modern change. Like you said, I'd like to see the Hawks do something similar by blending old with new. I like the Pac-Man, but I doubt it will be coming back. We haven't had a real good uniform style since those went away.
  14. It seems like someone had heard a rumor of uniforma changes earlier in the year. But I agree, I think it's time for a new look.
  15. Here's the link -- http://www.chron.com/cs/CDA/ssistory.mpl/sports/2726398 I wish we would have kept Sura. We desperately need his intensity! Good luck, Bobby, we barely knew ya!
  16. Maybe Billy is trying to recreate the old Celtics team. How about a trade for Walter McCarty and Vitaly Potapenko as well?
  17. From Hoopsworld (http://www.hoopsworld.com/article_8991.shtml) "Kenny Anderson – Atlanta Hawks - Kenny has reportedly come to terms with the Hawks, but it’s still pending." Antone heard anything about this? I think this is a terrible move if it is true!
  18. Though some of you may laugh, I actually think Smitty would be a good mentor to J-Chillz, Donta, others. Every once in a while he could get his creaky knees in the game and drain some 3s for us.
  19. STEVE SMITH WAS THE MAN!! Walker is no Steve Smith (Smith in his prime, of course). (I noticed nobody mentioned Danny Manning...LOL!)
  20. Now that they have JT, they really don't need Devin Harris. Why not sweeten the deal and snag him?
  21. That's a good catch AHF! I did not consider the fact that it said "drafted" and not "signed".
  22. I agrree. Besides Terry and Henderson could not give us this: Antoine Walker career: 19.9 points 8.6 boards 4.2 assists Sure, Terry can score, but he can't give us the boards and 4.2 is nice assisting for a big man. And as for Henderson, it's hard to score and rebound when you're on the bench in street clothes. We grab a point guard or two and we're looking pretty good IMO. I would like to see this offense go with a legit PG running the show (a pass first set-up man we haven't had since Mookie). Pair Walker with Harrington (and maybe Dampier or Center by committee) and I think we have a nice frontcourt.

  24. for Piston's rejects, 1st rd pick (I feel we should have got a 1st rounder from Portland so let's take Detroit's pick instead)and mail in the rest of the season. I mean, we stink with or without Wallace. Trade JT in the summer, hire a new coach, and start over. We won't attract any stars, but we will have enough money to grab a couple of above average players to begin building with. That, with a new coach (who is respected by the players) will only better prepare us for attracting "star" players in the offseason of 2005. Besides, with the realignment we could make the playoffs with a losing record in a lackluster division(Miami, Washington, Orlando all have losing records and Charlotte will be full of cast-offs and rookies.) In 3 years we could realistcally be competitive in the lowly East!
