  1. i'll say this....remember kenyon martin and josh smith seem to have a good relationship(slam dunk contest), billy knight made a big run at kmart when he got his big deal and he flirted with actually coming to atlanta even with as terrible as we were at that time. ALSO, i remember sekou writing a story years back(the early woody days) about how while we played denver one of our guys got crushed on a screen during the game and after the game kenyon went out of his way to come into the atlanta locker room and let the young guys know to succeed in this league you have to look out for your teammates. i think he does have genuine interest in playing here. My concern is that he is a very similar player to ivan johnson i believe who we already have and is doing a good job. but im not opposed to adding another player like that. as we saw tonight against memphis, we may be tougher this year.....but we need more of it because those dudes abused us physically tonight. i do also think we need size which he doesnt bring. im assuming twin will miss some time, and to be honest he is the player on the roster im most concern about because i dont think he's helped this team as much as he is capable of so far. im hoping the argument that "the vet is saving it for dwight" is correct. but i also can't see how losing the weight he did in the off season will help against dwight. if we get kmart, who do we cut? the obvious choice is stack, but i really beleive what the players say is true....that his vocal leadership has played a major role with us this season. i wonder if he would stay on as a coach or something.
  2. Zaza has been one of the most reliable players on our roster for years now.
  3. Assuming Jamal is signing elsewhere without a sign and trade...this is the roster we are left with as of now i think Teague/*Hinrich/Pape Sy Johnson/T-Mac Marvin/Stackhouse Smoove/Vlad Horford/Zaza/Twin/Kito *Out the first month ....How confident are we in this team? Personally, my goal is to get to that Easten finals. And I'm not very confident with this group at all. Is there anybody out in free agency ASG will pay to help this roster as of now? From my view, the best chance for us to improve this roster is to add a servicable backup PG for now. And trade Hinrich at the deadline to fill some other needs of ours and hope we gel going into the playoffs. We're really going to need Teague to be the real deal. Im confident in that he will be. Marvin to have a career season, I'm not sure I'm confident in that either. Seems like whenever i feel he's about to turn the corner he puts up another no production game smh. His back is healthy, he did come up big in Game 6 of the Orlando series so who knows. Not counting on it. If T-Mac can play in 72 games like he did in Detroit last season I'd be happy, I think its possible and would help us. If Vlad can have a nice season that will help us too for sure having a knock down 3-point threat like how Korver helps Chicago off thier bench. I'm sorry, losing Jamal like we did just kills our bench in my opinion. There's nobody coming off this bench that scares anybody. Looks like another middle of the pack season. But I'm a competitive fan, I expect the best out of what we have. I hope these guys go for the East. You never know. But Atlanta Spirit has really disapointed me as a life long fan of this team. I appreciate finally being competitive but c'mon, let's go for it all.
  4. Completley embarrasing if he goes to NYK. You're telling me this ownership group won't spend 2.5 million for one of the best pure scorers in the league? SELL THE TEAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Us fans have invested so much emotion into this franchise for so long, i know i have, and ASG basically hits us with an "F U" on this one. Rediculous. I hope he ends up in the West. At least he won't knock us out of the playoffs there. Can't beleive we are too cheap to even sign and trade him either. David Stern needs to take the team away from these guys already. On another note JC is a class act and did a great job for us over these last two years I seriously wish him the best
  5. Saw that jamal just tweeted something like i wana thank the true atl fans for their support over the last two years...meaning he about to just sign somewhere smh
  6. the report says that he's coming here over chicago because the bulls wouldn't pay him. i assume that means we did. I like t-mac, especially with some vet assurance behind marvin. but i really hope we didn't overpay him. i also really hope this isn't sund's respnse if we lose jamal.
  7. man smoove has been with us so long and he's only 26. people i think forget that easily, this guy has always grown every year. and he has alot more to grow still. yes, his shot selection is poor alot. but he's a special player, the x-factor for this team and that can't be overlooked. i personally wouldn't trade him.
  8. i was also thinking vc would be a nice fit here. especially if we lose jamal, carter has always been good scoring late in games. he also can give us more production at that position because we all know marvin hasn't given it every night. he's a seasoned vet(and he has always killed us too i beleive) so it would be nice to have him in atlanta. wouldn't overpay for him though!
  9. I don't know about ya'll, but im not sending jamal to chicago no matter what. these are the guys standing in our way from the next level and we're going to give them a player as good as crawford? if we have to lose him(and i'd do whatever to keep him) we have to find a way to sign and trade him to a team not contending in the east in my opinion.
  10. The Braves want Aubry Huff If I was Schurhultz(sp?) I would.... D-Rays get: Kyle Davies player to be named later Braves get: Aubry Huff and at LF, let Jordan split time with Langerhans
  11. not true. The hawks have the most cap in the league. I dont know about the Bulls, but Philly is over the cap right now. If we make Dally an offer that pays him over 5 million in his first year, the 76ers wont be able to match it. And The Bulls also have Curry on the FA market, I dont think they will be able to afford both of them, especially with the contract offer(s) Curry is going to get. He is much more valuble to the Bulls than Chandler.
  12. Smoove, Chandler, Dalembert I think BK should sign and trade for Chandler Bulls get: Al Harrington(They wanted him last offseason) future 2nd round pick Hawks get: Tyson Chandler We also need to sign Dalembert to a long term contract That frontcourt will be great. They all usually create mismatches with thier size(which is what BK likes). And they all are great defensive players(what Mike Woodson likes).

    Dalembert

From what I see and hear of Dalembert, he seems like a guy who has all of the potential to become a top 5 Center in this league. I think it is a MUST that we sign him to a long term deal this offseason, and draft a point gaurd with our lottery pick(Paul or Williams...I like Williams better because he is a big PG that can shoot, and comes up big in clutch situations). But to improve his game I think he will need a little guidence. As I thought about this to myself, while watching Dekembe Mutombo wave his finger in the air after blocking Jason Terry in Game 6, I saw that DEKEMBE MUTOMBO IS THE SOLUTION!!! Think about it they Delembert and Mutombo play almost the same style of basketball. They both are shot-blocking machienes, are monsters on the boards, and can be dominate in the post. I don't know if Dekembe is a FA this offseason or not, if he is, then I think that if we sign Dalembert than it is also a must to sign Mutombo to a 1 or maybe 2 year deal. If he isn't a FA this offseason...I would do this: Houston gets: Al Harrington 58th overall pick Atlanta gets: Houstons first round pick Dekembe Mutombo With Houston's first round pick I would take Hakkim Warrick to replace Harrington. Him and J-Smoove would be a deadly Foward combonation, and if not, they will at least make a hell of a highlight reel together. Last but not least afer we aquire Mutombo, I also feel we should convince Kevin Willis to play one more season. With the guidence from both Kevin and Dekembe, the possibilities for Dalembert would be endless.
  14. Make sure your list has players from both the NBA Draft and FA Here is mine: 1. Deron Williams 2. Samuel Dalembert 3. Marvin Williams 4. Chris Paul those are my top 5....why is Andrew Bogut not there you might ask....because, I HATE HIM!!!HE WILL BUST!!!!!!
  15. This is my latest plan for the Hawks: Draft: #1 Marvin Williams #31 Louis Williams(If he declares for the draft) FA: Sam Dalembert 7 year deal(Do whatever it takes to sign Dally!!!) Earl Watson 2 year deal Stromile Swift 5 year deal Re-sign: Tyron Lue 2 year deal Peja Drobnjak 2 year deal Line Up: (Some players are shown at two posistions) Earl Watson/Tyron Lue/Louis Williams Josh Childress/ Boris Diaw/ Louis Williams Marvin Williams/ Josh Smith/ Daunta Smith Al Harrington/ Stromile Swift/ Josh Smith Sam Dalambert/ Stromile Swift/ Peja Drobnjak I think this team will be exciting, and be able to contend for the playoffs because of the team's athleticisum.Another thing I want to add is that I think Smoove will have a good chance to win six man of the year if my plan happens. Also, I know a lot of you are high on Royal Ivey(I am too) but I dont feel there is a chance that BK would pass on Louis Williams if he fell to us or that Woody would carry 4 PG on the team.
