I'd absolutely waive moose for Scott if Scott isn't going to jailand we can afford it. Idk the last time I was this excited about a team.

I will miss Jeff Teauge's'. What will ol bobby r do without Teague Time?!

Some sobering observations....

Sobering if he started. As a 3Rd stringer, the leadership aspect is much more important for the Hawks.

I'm very cautiously optimistic. I truly believe our ceiling us much higher with this team, but on the other hand, our floor is significantly lower.
Time will tell, and that's part of the reason I'm so excited about this season.

No. I don't want any possible distractions bringing any where else's culture into out locker room. Even if it is an upgrade at a position, sometimes the better move is to not make one.
Still hopes to see some type of trade so we can resign Hump. With dwights possible injuries the last thing we need is an injury prone back up center.

Just watched the game. I love Bembry's game. So smooth and smart.

Westbrook is not signing long term in Atlanta.

I disagree. We can send you over and a bag of Fritos ...lol
Better be a big bag of fritos if that is the center piece of that deal.

I'd answer, but I'm not sure what you're asking... any signing at all has cap implications, and then the length of the contract is what dicatates for how long it naturally does so. But I think you're probably asking something else (?).
I was thinking the cap hit would be less for Howard if traded, something like Horford. Ie paying horford 25 million, but only having 18 count against the cap.
I didn't know a) if that benefit carried on to future years and b) if so, does Howard qualify if traded.
I have no clue if Houston had him for long enough or what ever the requirements are for that to be the case.
-
Would a SnT have cap implications for the following year as well, or just this year?
-
From my understanding, we would not have the cap space to take a guy like Calderon back. Too much $.

To bad Wonder Woman flew to Boston... she would fit in this thread nicely.

Anna,
I appreciate the play your brother gave the Hawks fans. All the 13 point 7 rebound seasons he gave us (when he actually played). The elevated play when it matters most (playoffs). The tough interior play we would expect from a center. The ability to box out and get a rebound (Way to go Tristan). But most of all, I want to thank him for not hand cuffing my favorite team to a bs contract for a guy who didn't show up when it mattered most. If he doesn't want to handle it like a professional, then don't expect fans to treat him as such. Tfoh.

Who would our backup center be. Mitotic is definitely a full time forward. Would have to bring in Humph somehow then I think. Otherwise its Moose and Edy backing up D12. Scary.
That was the idea. Resign Hump if you do something like that.
Shro/ Delaney / Patterson
Baze / Korver / THJ / Bembry
Sef / Snell / Prince
Sap / Mirotic / Moose
D12 / Hump / Tavares
That would be pushing it with the cap, but not bad if we could make it work. I feel like if we can make Demarre into what he is, we could turn Snell into something similar.
Also reading about it , it seems like the bulls already tried to trade snell once through out the regular season.

Think the bulls would go for a Mirotic / Snell for Splitter / Minn 1 / 2018 2?

I'd hop on the Brandon Jennings revival tour for the right price.

I've said all along that he's not a 5. He knows it deep down. Used the "I'm really a 4 playing 5" thing as an eggscuse. Faced with being a 4 for the first time, he tucks tail and runs (to a place where he'll likely be a 5 again which he and his daddy supposedly hate).
My thoughts exactly. Consistently talked about being out of position, and we finally bring in a true center, only to have him bolt to play out of position again? Sounds like someone got nervous about losing that out of position excuse.

My biggest worry about shredder is his J. If he can get that ft pull up consistently off the PnR and the teams have to keep with him to keep him honest, I guarentee that the howard / Shro duo will be ridiculous.
-
So who could we get to play the 2/3 spot that would not be overpaid this offseason. Yeah. Baze is overpaid. Everyone is
We got Baze for less than Deng. And go check the evan turner contract just for the hell of it.

I wouldn't say it was a overpay, but I agree we could have got comparable production cheaper...

You're cute. That's not worth debating.
In all honesty. You complain about what we are doing. You want horford and no howard. So fine. Shro /Paul / Horford are locked in. Who do we get to improve our team? Seriously. If you are going to bitch ,bring a reasonable idea to the table for us to discuss.
I'm not thrilles at this point, but I'll wait it out until all the dust settles.
-
Yeah, you are correct. None of those pieces are worth Paul. But it gives us much more financial flexibility, younger pieces, and if Paul walks away for nothing in a year, which he will, then what?
Other teams are going to see milap forwhat he is at this point. A 1 year rental that will give you all star production. There is no way we get full value of that. Unless you take advantage of some dumb team like the Magic. Looking at you, Serg.

We have been rumored for Sap with PHX and Philly for Teague. What about a 3 way deal that fills a handful of teams needs.
PHX: Millsap
PHIL: Bledsoe
ATL: covington, len, Carl landry, PHX 1
We can still unload splitter / Thabo and make a bigger splash for a guy like Deng cap wise, i believe.
Shro / Jack? / patterson
Baze / Korver / THJr / bembry
Deng / RoCo / Prince
Horford / Landry / moose
Howard / Len / Tavares
Very versatile, good shooters, solid depth, and bringing in some younger talent to mix with the old.
