  1. I would just to get rid of splitter, but wouldn't include the 1st. And I doubt dallas does that.

He would be on the books 2 to 3 more years.... at the end of the day are we better with 5 years of baze at 19-20 with our 1st....or 3 years of this guy at 17-18 and no 1 in this scenario?

  2. 13 minutes ago, Thomas said:

We had a good chance to win three games. We missed three pointers left and right in all fourth quarters we played. Rebounds are always important but against the Cavs rebounds were not the whole story. Still have to hit clutch shots in the playoffs.

Those clutch shots become a lot more important when the other team gets 2 or 3 tries to your 1.

I don't want to think about it, but there were many times in the closing minutes we got a much needed stop only to have Tristan bring down the board and they get another shot or 2 and hit it. Rebounding was more an issue as opposed to hitting shots when it comes to us matching up with the 'Land Lebrons...imo.

  3. I actually like the idea of trading with the Spurs for a change.  But what if we bring in another team and do something like...

    Spurs...Trade: Green / Mills... Receive: 2 future 2 (Atl) 1 future 2 (Phil)

    Hawks...Trade: 2 future 2... Receive: Mills / Robert Covington

    Philly...Trade: Covington and a 2... Receive: Green

Spurs clear cap space to push for Conley or Durant.

Atl picks up a BU PG and depth / potential wing starter in Covington.

Philly has depth at SF and sounds like they want to push for Barnes. What they do lack is a quality SG and veteran leadership.

I'd rather the hawks do this and still have cap space for baze (or Crabbe) / Horford than bring in an aging Deng that won't add much value long term.

    Shro/ Mills

    Baze / Kover /THJ

    Cov / Sef / Prince / Bembry ( D league)

    Sap / ??? / ???

    Horford / Splitter / Tavares

  4. What about a guy like Cole Aldrich for 2 to 3 million (maybe wishful thinking) and find a way to trade splitter?

We get a big that plays within himself and rebounds well, although not an elite defender. On top of that we get an additional 5 to 6 million in cap space that may allow us to resign Baze, Horford, and another FA.

  5. There has been some mention of Allan Crabbe on the board, but has there been any mention the Hawks are actually interested in him?

I liked his game the few times I saw him and think he is a little more fluid, not as explosive, but more fluid than Baze. Plus he is a couple years younger.

So if you had to pick Baze at 14-15 mil or Crabbe at 12-14 mil. Who you got?

  6. If we are going to package up all our assets for Buddy, I'd much rather see how far 12, 21, Minny's 1, and THJ would get us in the Jimmy Butler sweepstakes.

Looking at that I'm not sure that's anywhere close to what they would ask...but it's a starting point.

  7. Yeah I got a little excited and may have over valued our guys just a little, er -lotta, bit. Taking my 2k hat off, I'd still do the trade if you took Okafor /Korver out of it and we could still flip the picks and others for a guy like aminu.

Teague/Moose for Covington and 2 late 1sts seems more reasonable seeing as they will have an excess of 3s after they draft ingram/Simmons.

Hell I'd switch Teague for shro if it would still give us the room to resign Horford and baze.

  8. What do you all think a Teague/Korver/Moose package could get us from Philly? I don't think it would be unreasonable to think they could net us Okafor/Covington/24/26.  Philly does this to get a PG and add shooting to a team that desparately needs it. And they are young enough, they really don't need 2 more end of the 1st round type players.  These 3 will bring a winning mentality to a young team showing them the ropes while improving areas of need.

On to Portland... send them Splitter/Sef/24/26/throw in minnesotas future pick if needed for A Aminu? Portland brings in some veteran leadership and adds 2 first round draft picks to help the rebuild (I realize they made the playoffs, but I don't see that as sustainable). For the Hawks, we get a true, young sf who plays good defense and has an improving shot and he is on a reasonable contract for 3 more years. Also a lot cap room to resign Baze and Horford.

    Our Hawks then look like:

    Shro / ???

    Baze / THJR

    Aminu / Covington

    Sap / Hump

    Horford / Okafor / Tavares

Add the 21st pick to that team to boot....

  9. What are your thoughts on Nigel Hayes as a project in the 2nd? Seems like he is willing to put in work to become a better shooter and seems to have a decent motor on offensive glass. Kind of a tweener tho. Maybe a hair slow for sf but a hair too weak for pf.

Maybe shed some weight to increase speed and try to put him at sf down the road? I'd much rather see a pick like this than a euro stash guy.

  10. I know they are high on hood, but look at the landscape of the NBA. All teams have top points...at least the top teams, for the most part.

This gives Utah a top tier, more offensive minded, point to run their team. And let's be real, Exum is nothing more than a project at this point coming off an injury who would benefit greatly from learning under Teague. Plus, they still owe us from Mack and have the 12 pick to replace Hood.

Maybe just wishful thinking by me, but I think this is realistic and would benefit both teams.

  11. Teague / THJr for R Hood/Withey. Who says no? We get a potential go to scorer and back up big. Utah adds more offense to go along with Hayward and their defense.

If we could unload Scott and Splitter's contract we would still have enough room to make a push for a guy like Barnes or Batum and resign Horford. Draft Beasley to be the future 6th man.

    Shro / BU?

    Hood / Korver / Beasley

    Barnes / Sef

    Sap / Hump

    Horford / Withey / Tavares

  12. I think he has the potential to really develop his game when given a shot...kind of like Kawhi (not comparing the two talent wise).  I also think his skill set and versatility really fit in with what the hawks want to do.

Like I said, I don't want to be a treadmill team. I'm willing to gamble on a rookie in Jaylen Brown who I think has the potential to be a star (Barnes would compliment him nicely).  I think a starting line up come playoff time of Shro / Brown / Barnes / Millsap / Horford could make some noise. Both defensively and offensively.

To me this lineup keeps us competitive while also building for the future. Our 1-3 are all under 23. That's at least the way I would look at thinks. I'd be happy switching Barnes for Batum, but prefer barnes potential.

  13. What do you all think it would take to get New Orleans first round pick? Would Teague/Our 1/Minn1/2 get it done?

I don't want to be a treadmill team, and would rather bring in some young talent. If we could pull that trade off, what are your thoughts on drafting brown and doing whatever it takes to sign Harrison Barnes?  I believe the way the cap works as long as we sign Barnes first, we can reup with Al as well. Obviously we would need to shed some cap space lIke Scott and Splitter.

    Shro / kirk

    Korver/brown/thj

    Barnes / sef

    Millsap / hump

    Horford /Tavares /mle

Still have trouble rebounding against big teams, but would significantly upgrade our wing play and give us potential all stars between shro brown (imo) and Barnes when given the opportunity.

If the cap doesn't work,  nevermind then. But I would like to see what Barnes could do being more of the focal point and I have high hopes for brown
