With the next pick in the NBA draft....we select Will Barton - SF. At 25 years young, he is one of the most explosive players with a quickly developing overall game. He is a clutch player as he was near the tops in the league in 4th quarter PPG coming off the bench with plenty of daggers along the way (I see you Mr. Rathbun).
The versatility of the team is really starting to show itself! We can be a match up nightmare for anyone....
Small: Steph / Mathews / Barton / Aminu / Favors /// Bench: PG / Fournier / SF / PF / Turner
Big: Steph / Mathews / Aminu / Favors / Turner /// Bench: PG / Fournier / Barton / PF / C
Closers: Steph / Mathews / Barton / Favors / Turner

While @Alex deliberates, the good news is, the pick prior to his arrived before 2:00 PM. 1:44 PM Eastern, to be exact.
So, at 9:44 PM Eastern, if our presumptive #1 seed hasn't made a selection, then we could possibly have Dynasty Draft After Dark, starring @h4wkfan, @pimp, @AHF, @JayBirdHawk, @TheFuzz, @LucastheThird, et cetera, et cetera...

I'm locked, loaded, and ready to go. As long as Alex doesn't screw things up for me.

You would never be hired if that was the competition!! Haha. If you had a solid win loss record. I'd keep you around. I'm not that crazy.

You gotta swing for the fences to hit a home run. I don't mind the gamble.
If it doesn't work and you were my gm, you'd be out of a job! But that's why they get paid the big bucks.

His game is based more on iq, his shot, and tenacity. I feel like he should age well in the league. Including a big jump this year being year 2 off the knee surgery.
Not to mention being a back court mate with steph is going to take a lot of pressure off of him. The perfect 3rd option.

After working the phone lines tirelessly to move up in the draft to secure a specific player who would fit in seamlessly with the rest of the team, the Volt’s had all but moved on to Plan B, C, and D. However, by some draft miracle, the player we coveted so much in the draft simply fell in our laps. We couldn’t be happier with this pick….
With the 92nd pick in the draft, the Volts select Wesley Matthews – G/F. Coming off of a torn ACL, Wes had a bit of a down year by his standards. He did however still bring the same tenacity, defense, and 3 point shooting we have come to expect throughout his career. Word on the street is his athleticism is making a comeback, and we expect nothing short of a big time bounce back season.
As a result of this pick, we have decided to move Fournier to the 6th man role that will provide instant offense off the bench. Matthew’s veteran leadership & play making ability when called upon will be a perfect complement to Steph & Favors to carry the offensive load & lock down the opposition on defense. Depending on how the draft unfolds, there could be even more surprises internally within the rotation. Stay tuned!
PG: Curry
SG: Matthews / Fournier
SF: Aminu
PF: Favors
C: Turner

I'll get my pick in the next hour. Sit tight. Atlanta traffic is not your friend at this time of day.

Stop taking all these good players. I hear Elton Brand is out there and a good, steady veteran presence....

For those interested in Myles Turner... I am open to packaging him and pick 101 up for those still looking for a C.

I think the stats would be a good starting point, but I also think a large part of the team section is how the players fit together, coach quality/system.
Why not set up a poll with some basic stats and let the squawkers decide?

Nice pick. You misspelled Fournier though, but actually I'm not sure why don't you double check and Google it...
Hmm. I have a hunch I should take your word on that one....

With the 69th pick the in the draft, the Volts select Myles Turner, Center. The front office had a tough choice at this pick with a handful of talented center’s left on the board, but Myles’ performance, age, and potential have us excited!
Turner’s athletic ability and his ability to finish at the rim is a perfect fit with all the other shooting this team has put together. His defensive skillset & versatility is a perfect fit next to Derrick Favors in the post. We are excited for the potential this 2nd year player showed as a rookie, and can’t wait for him to take the next step!
Starting 5 (Height / Weight / Age)
PG- Steph Curry (6-3 / 185 / 28)
SG – Evan Fornier (6-7 / 205 / 23)
SF – Al Farouq Aminu (6-9 / 215 / 25)
PF - Derrick Favors (6-10 / 265 / 25)
C – Myles Turner (6-11 / 240 / 20)
With the completion of the starting 5, the Volt’s are ecstatic how the rotation rounded out. We feel as though there are no true weaknesses with this unit. We can pass, slash, post up, spread the floor, crash the paint. On the offensive end we have players capable of playing on or off ball. Defensively we have a set of quality defenders in our forwards & center that can make up where our guards lack. On top of that - the average age of the starting 5 is 24.2 years. This team is going to grow together for quite a while!

Nice pick with hood. I literally flipped a coin between him and Beal with my pick.
He was the guy I really wanted to try to find a way to flip Teague for this offseason!

Haha. I wouldnt have to worry about that since Noel is on MY team. He'd just step in and block any attempt!

If you all need a replacement..... I'd happily chip in. Just know that my first pick is going to be J Chill....every team needs that enforcer willing to lay someone out while maintaining the perfect fro.

I'd say our ceiling is pushing Cleveland to 6 or 7 games in the ECF. Our floor is well, the lottery.

Anyone else think Prince could get a few minutes at the 4 in the regular season in the small ball era?
To me, I think expecting 15 plus minutes a game is not out of the question while still having your main rotation be baze / Korver with th and sef off the bench first.

Good practice body in training camp. That's about it

Kris has more to offer in a very specific, limited role.
But you are crazy if you think that Hump brings more to the table than Al. There are about 109 million reasons that show Al is better.

I really liked danny green. I was actually picking between Barton and him at my pick. Good choice!
