  1. This is crazy! Guys a Chicago Bulls fan just said he saw a Clint Capela jersey that was leaked from the Bulls team shop earlier today. The Bulls fan said "it doesn't seem like they would make this the way to announce it to the public but definitely something to keep an eye on." The trade is Capela, Bogi, and A.J. Griffin for Zach LaVine. Could be something, could be nothing. Supes I need you and the insiders  to talk to your people to see if this has legs.

Windy went on to say that Irving did not tell the Nets about his decision before it went public. He also reiterated that people around the league don’t really believe Kyrie is actually all in: “I don’t know if anything has changed,” said Windhorst. “The people I talk to in the league are skeptical that Kyrie is going to be all for one and one for all on this.”

This would seem to end the Irving drama for the Nets, at least for now, but ESPN’s Brian Windhorst says people around the NBA are skeptical. On the latest episode of The Hoop Collective pod, Windy revealed what he has been hearing on this situation after Kyrie’s decision (h/t RealGM): “I think it turned down the heat in at least kept the Nets with two star players, with all of their options for next year alive,” said Brian Windhorst. “And, boy, was that not what some people, agents and executives thought. They don’t think this is over. “Now, Kyrie tried to make it sound like it was over. ‘I’ll see you in the fall’ sounds like it’s over.”

I definitely believe Kyrie still wants out. Like he stated yesterday about making chess moves. This was the first step, getting that 36 million dollar bag. Now he's going to up the pressure.

I'm about to negotiate a new salary for a promotion and I'm terrified of that very thing. I hate negotiating. Hate that feeling of asking, getting rejected and having to slide down to the offer. There is no worse feeling than an over reach in negotiating. Always fearful you blew the deal altogether.  The old rule of you never accept the first offer but what if the first offer is the best offer?

Thecampster, keep the faith and trust your instincts. They know who you are and you know who you are, no negotiating needed. IMO, most companies want you to show them how important you are to their success. Present it and let the results handle itself.

No need to walk.  Just stand firm on your offer and don't stop exploring other possibilities.  You frequently see people testing the market to come crawling back to take what they were already offered.  Think of Kyrie just this week as an example where he was getting ready to write his ticket to a max deal with a new team but came back and took what was already on the table when he figured out that wasn't happening.  It makes perfect sense.  JC did that in free agency where we made him an offer, he tried to do better, couldn't do better, and came back to sign on the dotted line.

I hear you AHF, but I'm old school and from a different generation. I refuse to let anybody finesse/fleece me and I refuse to let any man hold me hostage.

  5. It's time to hang the phone up on the Spurs. 4 first round picks, that's a deal breaker for me. If we've been negotiating with this team for this long and it hasn't resulted in a deal, then it's tine to walk. There is more than one way to skin a cat. We can find help elsewhere. We might have to take a good look at Victor Oladipo and end this back and forth nonsense.

What makes you think you can’t play Murray and Delon Wright together?

nate can absolutely play them together and if all is correct that bogi gets traded after Murray trade is completed then there’s going to be plenty of minutes at both backup guard positions. Huerter will likely be the swingman that switches between SG and SF.

i don’t disagree with you that Trae and/or Murray will always be on the court but even then it’s going to always be with either Wright or Huerter as the first two off the bench . The rookie AJ will get spot minutes where he can along with other young guys.

Well for 1, we won’t have enough cap to sign Wright without first moving Bogi or Kev. So a move for Wright is also a decision to move on from Bogi likely and commit to defense at backup Guard.

For 2, with that understanding, yes we expect minutes to be staggered. There are 96 mins at PG/SG. There is enough time for all 3 to play 30+ if you wanted. But likely Delon gets no more than 24 and Kev has the remaining balance with the majority of his time at backup SF now.

    3. injuries happen. And if you’re the Hawks, they happen often. Doesn’t not hurt to have overlap of depth and talent.

I think the big thing to understand is point #1. We aren’t carrying Trae, Murray, Bogi, Wright and Kev. One will not be here and by the sounds of it, Bogi is the one we want to move out the most.

I agree with most of that. My point is we have to remember that we have to keep as many shooters as possible also. Our offense was great because we had multiple shooters around Trae. We can't go to far away from what was successful.  The only time I want to see Delon and Murray on the court is when we need stops in the last minutes of crucial games. Playing them together in most games would be a self-check IMO. We have to find the right balance between offense and defense.

  7. Really dude! Nate will probably stagger their minutes during games to make sure one of them are on the court at all times.

Example: If Trae is out of the game, Murray moves to Point Guard and then Bogi or Huerter comes in as the Shooting Guard. All these guys want to play so that's why I don't think bringing Delon Wright is a giod thing. He would probably want to go to a team where he can get more playing time, rather than be the third point guard that rarely plays. That job would probably go to Sharife.

Smart has been dangled like JC has over the past few seasons. Adding Collins would make Grant Williams expiring easy to move. They can either move Derick White to PG or use their 17.5 mil trade exception to fill the spot.

I hope we trade John Collins to a team in the West. I don't want Boston and Brooklyn are whoever to get better by adding one of our players.
